Dear sir/Madam

I Meheret Ashenafi am writing, to express my deepest interest to to get scholarship of


MBA in your university.

Your honor, I have MSC in Accounting and Finance from Adama Science and Technology
University and I have been employed for more than 10 years in the Banking Industry. I
mention this from the point of view of drawing your attention towards my preparedness
with respect to academic issues and the work experience grasped so far. Assuming
leadership generally I believe entails a great deal of issues beyond the things I stated earlier.
That is why I am bold enough to say that I have whatever it takes to succeed as the next
generation leader for our Africa. I am now executing my job with the capacity of Branch
Manager of a Private Bank which has created me the platform to exercise leadership in my
domain. My track record so far has proven that I am doing quite well in effectively
developing, communicating and enforcing policies and strategies developed both Branch
and corporate wise. I also have proven my proficiency in bringing the synergy needed and
effectively managing the staff towards the organizational goal.

I have always taken my role seriously and I am passionate about my results. Beyond my
passion on driving performance, I believe I am a natural leader who fights hard for my
beliefs. I am at my best in a group environment, and am consciously proactive at getting
full involvement of all other team members to derive the best results possible. I have a very
effective personal style, and will look for continued leadership.

I would like to mention the fact that I am not only a member of the ‘Adama Women
Entrepreneurs Association’ that promotes creativeness of women and finances small and
medium scale business proposals but also counsel fellow members that need professional
assistance in sustaining their businesses and in bringing change in their livelihood.
Your honor, I understand the very volatile nature of the social, economical and political
matters of the continent especially that of the horn as I am living it not watching it which
needs to be addressed by young and vibrant citizens like me to bring the change that was
anticipated long ago. I am a member of the ‘Young African Leaders Initiative’ that
inspires the sweet spirit of Pan Africans which I personally share and which I believe is the
glue that holds us together. I believe I will bring a unique energy, optimism, passion and
tireless creativity to your organization. I may be the next Iron lady for my country and our
continent, who knows that I may become the next Ellen Johnson Sir leaf!? Who knows that I
may become the next Dlamini-Zuma!?
