Week of 2 hrs Analysis data from Equity Continuum Survey to create a plan of action
September 26th, for the school year. One area of need is professional development for
2022 educators and how to begin making the change within the classroom
and school. Needs of the school: celebrating the multicultural within the
school, student work in halls ways based around being a unique
individual based around culture and race, pictures of the school
community that shows the diversity of the school.
October 5, 2022 2hrs Equity Session with Dr. Nicole West-Burns: “What is Racial Literacy?:
How might I build mine?”
October 8-9, 2022 5 hrs Reading through articles and taking notes to create a Google Slides
Presentation for educators at Avila based around racial literacy and
how to dismantle our own biases that may exist. Provided educators the
following tools to begin the discussion on race within the classroom.

October 24, 2022 1 hr Leading a staff professional learning opportunity and discussion on
Racial Literacy and changing our view on what can and can not be
discussed in the classroom.
Week of October 1.5 hrs Creating a survey for educators to express the needs of the school

an equitable and inclusive school.

Anti-Black Racism session 2, with Dr. Nicole West-Burns by viewing the

the data will be tabulated and used by all of us to identify gaps and plan
next steps.
