SOP FOR ENTRY-EXIT STERILITY AREA

Objective: To maintain a sterile environment and prevent contamination during entry and exit from a
sterile area.

Scope: This SOP applies to all personnel entering or exiting a sterile area.

Procedure:

Preparation:

a. Ensure proper gowning and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available and in good
condition.

b. Wash and sanitize hands thoroughly before gowning.

Gowning Procedure:

a. Put on sterile gown, gloves, mask, and other required PPE following aseptic techniques.

b. Ensure all PPE is properly secured and covers all exposed areas.

Entry/Exit Protocol:

a. Use designated entry and exit points only.

b. Follow any specified procedures for disinfection or decontamination.

Behavior in Sterile Area:

a. Maintain aseptic technique at all times.

b. Minimize movements and do not touch non-sterile surfaces or equipment.

Exit Procedure:
a. Remove PPE systematically, ensuring no contamination.

b. Dispose of PPE in designated containers.

c. Wash hands thoroughly before leaving the sterile area.
