• Stage juts out into the


audience

• Seating on three sides

• Can create several distinct


acting areas

• Sets are usually minimal

• Still has a distinct back stage

• Follows normal blocking

• Sometimes called "Theater-in-


the-Round"

• Audience sits entirely around


the playing area.

• Encourages actor, audience


interaction

• Requires a set that allows for


continuous movement on stage
and does not block audience
view

• Props and Scenery must look

• Essentially a big empty


square with walls painted
black

• It can be set up like any of


the previous stage types

• No permanent seats

• Often utilized as rehearsal

COMMUNICATION

• Ground Plan: Birds eye view of what the set will look like

• Elevation sketch: What the audience will see when looking at the
set

• Model: Miniature recreation of the set to see it in 3-D
