Transport Phenomena

1. A steel flag is placed vertically in the central part of an induction furnace containing molten aluminum to study fluid forces. 2. The flag experiences an upward fluid force due to the molten aluminum flowing upward around it. 3. Instruments are used to measure the additional force exerted on the flag by the fluid. The fluid force will provide insights into the molten metal flow behavior inside the furnace.
