CLASS:X CH.10.CIRCLES-WORKSHEET SUB:MATHEMATICS

1. In figure, AB is a diameter of a circle, with centre O. If∠𝐴𝐵𝐶 = 70°,

∠𝐶𝐴𝐷 = 30°and ∠𝐵𝐴𝐸 = 60°
Find ∠𝐵𝐴𝐶, ∠𝐴𝐶𝐷, ∠𝐴𝐵𝐸.

2. In fig, PT=6cm, AB=5cm, Find the length of PA.

3. AB is a diameter of a circle and AC is its chord such that ∠𝐵𝐴𝐶 = 30°. If the tangent at C
intersects AB extended at D, then BC=BD
4. Out of the two concentric circles, the radius of the outer circle is 5cm and the chord AC of length
8cm is a tangent to the inner circle. Find the radius of the inner circle.
5. In the given figure, find the length of DE if AF=15cm, DB=4cm and
CD=9cm.

6. If from an external point of a circle with centre o, two tangents BC and BD are drawn such that
∠𝐷𝐵𝐶 = 120°, prove that BC+BD=BO, i.e, BO=2BC.
7. From an external point P, two tangents, PA and PB are drawn to
a circle with centre O. At one point E on the circle tangent is
drawn which intersects PA and PB at C and D, respectively. If
PA=10cm, find the perimeter of the triangle PCD.

8. If AB is a chord of a circle with centre O, AOC is a diameter and AT is

the tangent at A as shown in the given figure. Prove that ∠𝐵𝐴𝑇 =
∠𝐴𝐶𝐵.

9. In the given fig. O is the centre of a circle of radius 5cm, T

is a point such that OT=13cm and OT intersects the circle
at E. if AB is the tangent to the circle at E, find the length
of AB.
10. A is a point at a distance 13cm from the centre O of a
circle of radius 5cm. AP and AQ are the tangents to the
circle at P and Q. If a tangent BC is drawn at a point R
lying on the minor arc PQ to intersect AP at B and AQ
at C, find the perimeter of the∆𝐴𝐵𝐶.

WORKSHEET –CH.12. AREA RELATED TO CIRCLES

1. A thin wire is in the shape of a circle of radius 77cm, it is bent into a square find the side of the
square.
2. If the perimeter of a semi -circular protractor is 36cm, find its diameter.
3. In the fig, there is a sector of a circle of radius 10.5cm. Find the
perimeter of the sector.

4. What is the angle subtended at the centre of a circle of radius 10cm by an arc of length 5𝜋𝑐𝑚?
5. A piece of wire 22cm long is bent into the form of an arc of a circle subtending an angle of 60° at
its centre. Find the radius of the circle.
6. The area of a circle is 220cm2. What will be the area of a square inscribed in it.
7. A wire can be bent in the form of a circle of radius 35cm. If it is bent in the form of a square, then
what will be its area?
8. The circumference of a circle is 50cm. What will be the side of a square that can be inscribed in the
circle?
9. The circumference and the area of a circle are numerically equal, find the diameter of the circle.
10. In the given fig, O is the centre of a circle such that diameter
AB=13cm and AC=12cm. BC is joined. Find the area of the shaded
region. (take 𝜋 = 3.14)
