ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the senior

high school academic track choice of Nantangalan National High School Grade 10

students in the academic year 2022-2023.To determine the factors, this study

employs a descriptive research method. It investigated whether dependent variables

relating to personal interests, family/relatives, peer buddies, and job opportunities

were significant factors influencing respondents' strand choice.

The descriptive research quantitative approaches were utilized to examine

the respondents’ responses. The respondents were given a Likert

scale/questionnaire to get their responses personally, and it is gathered thereafter to

compile all of the results. Based on the findings, Peer Buddies was the dominant

factor that influenced the students’ choice of SHS academic track. The students are

influenced by their peer buddies, family/relatives, personal interests, and job

opportunities on the students’ chosen strand.
