MFG-0129 A FX Machine Data Server Installation Procedure

PURPOSE
SCOPE / APPLICABILITY
FX machine data server setup procedure for the Fanuc OI-MC Controller
RESPONSIBILITY
The Electronics and production Department Supervisor is responsible for document
implementation and usage
Compact flash memory card, Laptop PC with an available PCMCIA port, Fluke Model 27
Analog/Digital Multi-meter, Tools. All hard wares and soft wares for Fanuc data server options.
REFERENCE DOCUMENTATION
Please follow all necessary guidelines for safety. Only trained personnel should be performing
this procedure
DEFINITIONS
Soft key- Keys located below the Fanuc video display, their function changes by screen
POLICY
PROCEDURE
2.1 Move the locker bar up from the flash card slot.
2.2 Put the flash card into the slot smoothly and make sure it plugs in and it is stable.
2.3 Move the flash card locker bar down to secure the flash card.
3.4 Take off the spare slot 1 cover from LCD unit.

3.5 Install the DATA Server card into the spare slot 1 and make sure it is locked.
3.8 Install the Ethernet Outlet unit and connect it to Data Server Board if we have this unit.
(we don’t have this unit now.)
5.) Select option “1. SYSTEM DATA LOADING” using up/down soft-key.
6.) Press the “SELECT” soft key to select the file “656WE.ENC”.
7.) Press “YES” soft key to load this file.
8.) Press “SELECT” soft key again when the current file loading is finished.
9.) Press “DOWN” soft-key to move the cursor to “END”
10.) Press ”SELECT” soft-key to return to previous menu.
11.) Press “DOWN” soft-key to move the cursor to “END”
12.) Press “SELECT” soft key.
13.) Press “YES” to boot the system.
14) Finished.
VI. Load the software option according to Fanuc Software Installation procedure MFG-113.

4. E-mail those three files and Control type, Fanuc option P/O number and Control series number to
cnc.options@gefanuc.com . Please see the picture for reference.
5. Wait until GE Fanuc e-mail the installation file back to you. The e-mail will be like the following
format.
6. Copy the attached file (example: R000014255.txt) to a PCMCIA memory card suitable for use in
the Fanuc CNC.
C. Press the PAGE UP/DOWN key to move the page 1/5: Ethernet Page 1/5.
D. Using the cursor keys position the cursor on the line for the desired data( Input the right IP address for CNC
machine Data Server Card) to input.
Validation Testing Data:
a. IP address –
b. Subnet Mask –
c. Router IP Address –
d. Porter number—(on the next page)
E. Enter the desired data specified by the Customer using the MDI keys.
Validation Testing Data:
a. IP address – 99.33.61.41
b. Subnet Mask – 255.255.252.0
c. Router IP Address – Leave Blank
Screen: 1/5
F. Press soft key “INPUT” or function key input to input the data.
G. Repeat steps C to E for all values except the “ROUTER IP ADDRESS”
H. Press PAGE DOWN key on the MDI panel and go to the screen 2/5
I. Setup the DATA SERVER Port 1:
PORT NUMBER: 21
IP address – 99.33.61.40
USER NAME: FANUC
PASSWORD: FANUC
LOGIN DIR—LEAVE BLANK
Screen 2/5:
If the following window comes out, the hardware setup is ok, otherwise check the PC and CNC.
If the following window comes out, the hardware setup is wrong, otherwise check the PC and CNC
** You can use the Fanuc Servo guide to tune the axes. If the communication is ok, the setup is success.
