This activity cube offers 6 sides of fun for your little one. Every panel offers different activities.

Yarn
Durable Coral, 100% cotton, 50g, 125m/137yds.
- 2134 Vintage Green: 1 ball
- 2212 Linen: 1 ball
- 2211 Curry: 1 ball

Durable Coral mini, 100% cotton, 20g, 50m/55yds.


- 2235 Ash: 1 ball
- 326 Ivory: 1 ball

Crochet hook
2,5 mm.

Crocheting around the cube, making the panels (6x)


Using Coral 2212 Linen:
Row 1: 26ch, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 24sc, turn. (25sc)
Rows 2 – 25: 1ch, 25sc, turn. (25sc)
Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in the ends.

Work 5 more panels, using Coral 2212 Linen, 2134 Vintage Green, 2211 Curry, 2235 Ash and 326 Ivory.

Crochet star applique


Using Coral 2211 Curry:
Round 1: Make a magic ring, 10sc in the ring. (10sc)
Round 2: 2sc in each sc around. (20sc)
Round 3: [3sc, 2sc in next sc] x 5. (25sc)

Round 6: [6sc, 2sc in next sc] x 5. (40sc)
Row 7: 8sc, turn and leave rest of round/row unworked. (8sc)
Row 8: 1ch, skip first sc, 7sc, turn. (7sc)
Row 9: 1ch, skip first sc, 6sc, turn. (6sc)
Row 10: 1ch, skip first sc, 5sc, turn. (5sc)
Row 11: 1ch, skip first sc, 4sc, turn. (4sc)
Row 12: 1ch, skip first sc, 3sc, turn. (3sc)

Cut yarn and fasten off.

Place the star on a square in Coral 2212 Linen, and sew it on to this square using the long tail, while putting the
squeaker under the star and stuffing the star gently at the same time.
Weave in the ends.

Plastic rings applique (3x)


Using Coral 2134 Vintage Green:
Row 1: 5ch, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3sc, turn. (4sc)
Rows 2 – 10: 1ch, 4sc, turn. (4sc)
Cut yarn leaving a long tail and fasten off.
Fold the strap around a plastic ring and sew it on the square in Coral 2134 Vintage Green. Weave in the ends.
Repeat for both other rings.

Beads applique
Crocheting around rattling bead 24 mm:
Using Coral 2211 Curry:
Round 1: Make a magic ring, 6sc in the ring. (6sc)
Round 2: 2sc in each sc around. (12sc)
Round 3: [1sc, 2sc in next sc] x 6. (18sc)
Rounds 4 – 8: 18sc. (18sc)
Place the bead in your work.
Round 9: [1sc, sc2tog] x 6. (12sc)
Round 10: sc2tog x 6. (6sc)
Cut yarn and fasten off while pulling the yarn through all 6 remaining loops. Pull tightly and weave in the ends.

Crocheting around wooden bead 20 mm:


Using Coral mini 326 Ivory:
Round 1: Make a magic ring, 6sc in the ring. (6sc)
Round 2: 2sc in each sc around. (12sc)
Round 3: [1sc, 2sc in next sc] x 6. (18sc)
Rounds 4 – 6: 18sc. (18sc)
Place the bead in your work.
Round 7: [1sc, sc2tog] x 6. (12sc)
Round 8: sc2tog x 6. (6sc)
Cut yarn and fasten off while pulling the yarn through all 6 remaining loops. Pull tightly and weave in the ends.

Putting together:
String the beads on the waxcord as follows: 20mm bead, crochet rattling bead, 20 mm bead, crochet 20 mm bead,
20 mm bead.

Sew the beads applique on the square in Coral 326 Ivory.
Weave in the ends.

Buttons applique (3x)


Using Coral 2211 Curry:
Row 1: 21ch, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 19sc, turn. (20sc)
Row 2: 1ch, 14sc, 5ch, skip next 5sc (buttonhole), 1sc, turn. (20sts)
Row 3: 1ch, 1sc, 5sc in 5ch-sp, 14sc, turn. (20sc)
Round 4: Work a slst round around the strap: 1slst in each st and 3slst in each corner st.
Cut yarn leaving a long tail and fasten off.
Make a second identical strap in Coral 2134 Vintage Green and a third one in Coral mini 2235 Ash.

Using the long tails, sew the buttons on the square in Coral 2212 Linen. Next sew the straps on the square as well
and ‘close’ the buttons.
Weave in the ends.

Teething ring ‘a star is born’ applique


Attach the teething ring on to a piece of waxcord and sew it on the square in Coral mini 2235 Ash.
Weave in the ends.

Wooden teething figure star applique


Using Coral 2134 Vintage Green:
Row 1: 56ch, 1slst in 2nd ch from hook, 54slst. (55slst)
Cut yarn leaving a long tail and fasten off.
String the teething ring star on your crochet cord and sew it on the square in Coral 2212 Curry.
Weave in the ends.

Pocket
Using Coral 2212 Linen:
Row 1: 19ch, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 17sc, turn. (18sc)
Rows 2 – 9: 1ch, 18sc, turn. (18sc)
Work a sc round around your work: 1sc in each st and 3sc in each corner st.
Cut yarn leaving a long tail and fasten off.
Using the tail, sew your work with 3 sides on the square in Coral 2211 Curry, leaving the upper side open, creating
a pocket.
Weave in the ends.

Flower
Using Coral 2134 Vintage Green:
Round 1: make a magic ring, 5sc in the ring. (5sc)
Round 2: [3ch, 1hdc in 3rd ch, 1slst in next sc] x 5. (5 flower petals)
Cut yarn leaving a long tail and sew the flower on the pocket.
Weave in the ends.

Putting cube together


Crochet 5 panels together using sc sts.
Place the foam cube in your work.
Close the cube by crocheting the last panels on to the other panels.
Weave in the ends.
