ARNIS ARTICLE
Arnis is otherwiseknown as eskrima, kali and garrote..It is our National Sport
In the Philippines.It is a martial art characterized by the use of swinging and twirling move ments accompanied by stricking, trusting and parrying techniques for defense and offense. The South 1-A Central School Arnis Team participated the Zonal Competition Last January 10, 2024. The Arnis Team were composed of the learners and the coaches of this event. The following learners are: (Boys) Michael M. Salang , Abdul Marjan J.Macarampat and Tristan A. Tagubar. Coach: Mrs Letty B. Sarucam (Girls) Cathalia S. Pinabigol , Vaniza Ericka D. Nipaya and Clasha Mae R. Ibale. Coach: Mrs Allyn Marie R. Agcopra. The Competition was held at Espiridion F. Encabo 1 Memorial High School Pugaan , Palao, Iligan City. The competition last January 10, 2024, started at 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM. The learners who used an assorted range of weapon for combat and self- defense. Arnis Traditionally involved rattan sticks, swords, daggers and spears , but a baton-like cane is the Primary melee tool employed and the weapon used in officiated arnis competition. The following teachers headed by Sir Enrecoso, the principal of the said school and also our Tournament Manager in arnis. They gave some comments, suggestions and scores to the learners in every performances. Competitive Arnis generally takes one of two forms: The performance-based on Anyo model and combative leban. We compete the Anyo because we are in the Elementary level and the officiating team judged on the basis of the over all choreography Of the performances, including the gracefulness, strength and force employed. Therefore we will be qualified for the incoming Division Meet. Lastly the Arnis Team of South I-A Central School give our heartily thanks to the Parents, Teachers and to our OIC Principal Mrs Junily B. Superale, a kind and smart laidy who gave her full supports for the success of this event. GOD BLESS US ALL
