The use of traditional media is still evident nowadays. Many businesses still utilize this
kind of media to reach unreachable places or remote areas and advertise their products and
services. Also, when it comes to disseminating news and raising awareness, some places still use
radio and television as their sources of information and entertainment. Traditional media
continues to play a vital role in our lives. They provide us with important news, entertainment,
and information that would help us stay informed and connected to the world around us. Despite
the rise of new media, traditional media still hold a special place in many people’s hearts.
Do you believe that technology has a significant impacts on fields like communication,
construction, energy, manufacturing, transportation and bio related technology? Explain.
Technology has a significant impact on various fields. When it comes to communication,
technology has made it easier and faster to connect with people around the world by providing
different platforms, such as smartphones and social media. Technology has also had a significant
impact on construction, where it provides new tools and equipment that make man’s work easier
and more efficient. In the field of energy, technology is also a big help since it enables the
development and implementation of various renewable energy sources like solar panels, wind
turbines, and hydroelectric power, which will bring us towards a sustainable future. Technology
has also brought a transformative change to manufacturing; its revolution is the way products are
made, making the process faster, more efficient, and more precise. Advanced machinery and
equipment reduce the need for manual labor and increase productivity. In transportation,
technology transformed it through the innovation of electric vehicles and autonomous driving,
and what is famous today is the ride-sharing app that allows us to request and book rides from
drivers using our smartphones. Last but not least, technology plays a crucial role in advancement
in healthcare, agriculture, environmental science, and other areas of life sciences. It enables
scientists to develop new treatments, improve crop yields, and understand diseases.
Explain the benefit and drawbacks of both new and traditional media in contrast.
According to what I have learned in our lessons, the benefit of new media is that it has a
wider range of sources, which means we can have access to a diverse array of perspectives,
opinions, and sources of news and information. It also works better for busy people, which
means it offers convenience and flexibility and caters to the needs of these individuals who want
to stay informed and connected while doing their respective work. New media is able to
communicate with a larger audience because it allows for greater interaction, fostering
connections and building communities. New media can sometimes lead to a lack of real-word
communication, which is sometimes the cause of social anxiety. It also has the potential for
unreliable sources of information. With a vast amount of content available online, it can be
challenging to determine what is accurate and trustworthy. New media has a lot of disadvantages
to mention, but the most terrifying is that it also fosters various crimes, or what we called cyber
crimes.
Furthermore, traditional media also had negative and positive aspects. One thing I really
liked about traditional media was its wide availability to the masses. It was accessible to a large
audience for many years, allowing information and entertainment to reach a broad range of
people regardless of their status in life. Traditional media also offers real-world communication;
it allows for immediate feedback, genuine emotions, and more personal experience, building
better communications. But no one is perfect. Traditional media also has its drawbacks compared
to new media. Traditional media takes a longer time to deliver fresh content, which can result in
a time lag between when an event occurs and when it is reported.
In summary, both traditional media and new media have their own strengths and weaknesses.
It is important to find a balance between the two and critically evaluate the information we
consume to stay informed in today’s generation.
As an accountancy student , what type of media has a significant impact (traditional or new
media ) ?
Nowadays the usage of different mediums to reach and find our target audience and
information was much more accessible. As an accounting student, the emergence of new media
will brought significant changes and improvements in our field. It has provided us with various
mediums and channels that allow us to perform our activities more efficiently and effectively.
One of the key advantages of new media is its accessibility. With the widespread use
oftechnology and the internet, we now have instant access to a vast amount of information and
resources. We can easily find accounting concepts, this accessibility enables us to stay updated
with the latest developments and trends in the accounting industry.
Furthermore, new media allows us to connect and engage with our target audience in a more
direct and interactive manner. Through social media platforms, we can share our knowledge,
insights, and experiences with others, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among
accounting students and professionals. We can also join online forums and discussion groups,
where we can seek advice, ask questions, and exchange ideas with like-minded individuals.
Moreover, new media caters to the needs of busy individuals. As accounting students, we often
have tight schedules and limited time for traditional forms of media consumption. New media
allows us to access information on the go, whether through our smartphones or laptops. We can
listen to podcasts or watch educational videos during our commute or breaks, making the most of
our time and maximizing our learning opportunities.
In conclusion, new media has undoubtedly made a significant impact on the field of
accounting, providing us with efficient ways to perform our activities and access relevant
information. It has revolutionized the way we learn, connect, and engage with others in our field.
By embracing new media and utilizing its benefits wisely, we can enhance our accounting
