The GeoGebra Calculator Suite is a dynamic mathematics software connecting geometry and
algebra. You can access the GeoGebra Calculator Suite online by using the latest version of
web browser.
The GeoGebra Calculator Suite is also available for Android, iOS , Windows and MacOS. If
you are using a different device, you may want to open GeoGebra Web in your web browser
instead. Make sure that you have a stable connection.
Basic Information:
The GeoGebra Calculator Suite contains the Graphing Calculator, the 3D Calculator, the
Geometry App, the CAS Calculator and the Probability Calculator. Depending on the app you
use, the User Interface of the GeoGebra Calculator Suite includes the Algebra View, the
Tools View, the Table View and the Graphics View. All Views are dynamically
connected, which means that modifications in any View are immediately displayed in the
other Views as well.
View Overview
The following table gives an overview of which Views are available in which calculator.
Examples:
o Change a function in the Algebra View and watch how its graph adapts in
the Graphics View.
o Drag a point in the Graphics View and watch how its coordinates change in the
Algebra View.
Tools View
Use the Tools View button to open the Tools View providing access to the categories of GeoGebra
tools. Select any tool and create new objects in the Graphics View.
Select the Tools View button to open the Tools View. The Tools View is available
for Graphing, 3D Calculator and Geometry. Note: The Tools View shows a
selection of most important tools. If you want to see more tools, select MORE at the end of
the Tools View.
Intersection To create the intersection point of two objects select the Intersection
tool. Click on the two objects to create all intersection points or directly click on an
intersection of two objects to only create this single intersection point. Roots To
find the roots of a function select the Roots tool and click on a function. For polynomials all
roots are found, for other functions only those between the left and right edge of the
Graphics View. Extremum To find the local extrema of a function select the
Extremum tool and click on a function. For polynomials all extrema are found, for other
functions only those between the left and right edge of the Graphics View. Note: The
coordinates of intersection points, roots and extrema will be displayed in the Algebra
View. Slider To create a slider for a number or an angle select the Slider tool and
click on any free space in the Graphics View. The appearing dialog allows you to specify the
name, interval and increment of the number and angle. Note: You can use the name of the
number or angle for commands and functions to explore their changes when moving the
slider.
Algebra View
Use the Algebra View button to open the Algebra View. Enter algebraic input,
commands and functions into the Input Bar using the keyboard. The graphical representation
of these objects is displayed in the Graphics View. The algebraic numeric representation of
all created objects is shown in the Algebra View as well.
The algebraic representations of all created objects (i.e. coordinates, equations) are listed in
the Algebra View in the order of their creation. The Algebra View is available for
Graphing, 3D Calculator, Geometry and CAS. You can enter algebraic input or
commands into the Input Bar in Algebra View.
numbers
the most used mathematical operators
the letters of the Latin alphabet
the letters of the Greek alphabet
Note: You can switch between the different layouts by selecting the corresponding keys in
the top bar of the Virtual Keyboard. You can close the Virtual Keyboard at any time
by clicking anywhere in the Graphics View. If you're using the Calculator Suite on a desktop
PC you can also use your external keyboard. The provided equation editor makes it very
easy to enter complex mathematical expressions without losing track of what you are typing.
A built-in help for using commands can be found in every app. To get an overview of all
commands in the online App, select the Input help button and choose Help. On mobile
devices select the More button on the upper right corner of the Virtual Keyboard.
Using the online App, you can also just start typing a command. After three letters the app
will suggest available commands including their parameters. Note: Commands can also be
entered in lower case and will be automatically changed to upper case after pressing enter.
Try it yourself...
Open the Algebra View and enter the function into the Input Bar using the Virtual
Keyboard. Then enter into the Input Bar as well.
Edit existing objects Select an existing object in the Algebra View to enable editing.
Input Help The Input Help button left of the Input Bar allows you to select the type of
input and get help. You can select Help to open the Input Help screen, where all
commands and mathematical functions are listed.
