Course: Education in Pakistan (6506) Semester: Autumn, 2023

Please read the following instructions for writing you assignments. (AD, BS, B.Ed,
MA/MSc, Med, ODL Mode)

1. All questions are compulsory and carry equal marks but within a question,
the marks are distributed according to its requirements.
2. Read the question carefully and the answer it according to the requirements
of the question.
3. Avoid irrelevant discussion/information and reproducing from books, study
guide or allied material.
4. Hand written scanned assignments are not acceptable.
5. Upload you typed (in Word or PDF format) assignments on or before the due
date.
6. Your own analysis and synthesis will be appreciated.
7. Late assignments can’t be uploaded at LMS.
8. The students who attempt their assignments in Urdu/Arabic may upload a
scanned copy of the hand written assignments (in PDF format) on University
LMS. The size of the file should not exceed 5MB.

(Units 1–4)
Q.1 Analyze the philosophy of Education in the Slateen period. The British period is
divided in seven parts. Compare all these periods with reference to education system
during Slateen Period. (20)

Q.2 Comparatively discuss the salient features and curriculum of Nadva Dar-ul-Uloom
and Jamia Millia Islamia. (20)
Q.3 Critically discuss the major motivating forces behind Aligarh Movement and elaborate
its important initiatives and salient features. (20)
Q.4 Discuss National education policy 1992,1998-2010 and 2009 with special reference
to the innovative approaches adopted by the governments in policies to make the
education system more responsive to the changing needs and demands of the
modern society. (20)

Q.5 Describe the provisions for education in the Eighth and Ninth five year plans and
critically discuss their implementations. (20)

ASSIGNMENT No. 2
(Units 5–9)
Q.1 After 18th amendment education is the responsibility of provinces. Explain
implications of this shift with reference to functions and structure of the provincial
department of education and other related units of education in regions. (20)

Q.2 Differentiate between continuing and adult education. Discussthe state of


continuing education in Pakistan. (20)

Q.3 Highlight the characteristics of good curriculum What is the procedure of curriculum
planning and development in Pakistan? What problems, according to you, are faced by
the implementing agencies while implementing curriculum? (20)

Q.4 Comparatively analyze internal and external systems of examination. Which one do
you think is more suitable and why? Critically analyze examination System of
AIOU. (20)

Q.5 Write comprehensive notes on the followings. (20)
