fig. 01 Buttocks
After you have joined the legs, the start of the round is where you begin the
buttocks. Crochet in spiral using soft apricot.
Skirt
Work 36 ch + 1 t-ch in pink.
Row 1: 9x (3 sc, inc) close the round with a sl st (= 45 st).
Cut off yarn and finish off and close the small gap of rnd 1. Now put the skirt
onto the legs and crochet them together (fig. 03):
fig. 04
Centre back (fig. 04): If the pattern says
to crochet to centre back (for example
at the hips or bust), then this means
that you crochet till you are really at the
centre back of your work. Centre back
is a set point. It ensures that the doll is
symmetrical. In this way you can correct
small errors. Using your own judgement
crochet to that point and imagine that a
vertical line is running through the doll.
If necessary, move your stitch marker.

Now stop crocheting and give your doll a pretty face. Insert the safety eyes
through the openings in rnd 11 and fasten them well. The numbers of the
rnds given now go from rnd 18 of the head downwards. Embroider the
eyelashes and eyebrows. Create a nose in skin tone between rnds 9 and 10 by
sewing twice over 2 stitches. Embroider the mouth between rnds 12 and 13
sewing over 2 stitches. Knot all loose ends at the back of your work and fill
the head with stuffing. There are various ways to embroider the facial features
which gives the doll a different look. It is also possible to give the doll
blushing cheeks by using a little blusher or pink eyeshadow (fig. 02).
fig. 03 Now finish the head, carry on with the yarn at rnd 18 and work in spirals.

fig. 01 Glasses
We bend the glasses from aluminum wire.
Take a pencil or a thick crochet hook. We leave about 8 cm of wire and then
wrap the wire once around the pencil (fig. 01). Then shape the nose bridge
and wrap the wire around the pencil once more (fig. 02).
Bend the beginning and end of the wire back to form the arms and
cut the wire to the appropriate length (fig. 03).
fig. 02
Finally we put the glasses on the doll.
