During the election, Daniel Tirona stood up and said that Andres Bonifacio did not
deserve that position and he suggested Jose del Rosario who is a lawyer as director of the interior
replacing Andres Bonifacio. Bonifacio was insulted so he void all that happened. April 24,1897, Andres
Bonifacio wrote a letter to tell Emilio Jacinto that he was cheated in the Tejeros convention. Despite of what
Bonfacio acted in the Tejeros Convention, Emilio Aguinaldo was still the President and the Vice President was
still Mariano Trias Closas.

Contribution and relevance of the document in understanding the grand narrative of

Philippine History

This document is a primary source of all the important details that happened at the tejeros
convention and where and when did this meeting happened. This document serves as an
evidence on how our leaders was elected and how our katipuneros choose the type of our
government. It also serves as a proof on what are the true events that happened after the
convention that led to the death of Andres Bonifacio.

Personal Insights

he political issues stated in this document were still an issue for us Filipinos up until now.
T
That's one thing we inherited from our ancestors. The reason why our country is not moving
forward or developing, is because of corruption. As you can observe, we are just repeating
history itself but in a different way. We must do something for our country. We must eradicate
corruption as soon as possible. The Tejeros convention depicts some of the modern issues we
have today. Power and greed controls a person to do anything, may it be good or bad, just to get
what they want. This document should teach us that just and righteous elections should be
practiced especially in today’s issues which is exponentially rising

What happened to the Tajeros convention is a good reminder that we should choose a
good leader who leads us on a better course, a leader whose purpose is not only to overuse
power. We should not let the same history repeat itself just as it did when the Spaniards colonized
us for a couple of years. The Tajeros convention made us realize that the hope of our future lies
in our hands, and that we should use our minds and hearts to choose the best leader who can be a
strong source of strength and development for our fellow men. Wherein the Tejeros Convention
should be an eye opener for the Filipinos but then it seems that up until now the greed for power
is still there. This should not be the case for us Filipinos. We deserve a good leader to lead the
country, have a leader that can lead us to a better country. Not a leader who’s just greedy power,
wealth, and fame. .We should always keep in mind that we should also be careful on picking our
leaders for they will help improve and manage our country.
