PART I.
1. Who were the martyrs during the 1 st phase of the revolution? What happened to
them?
They were Filipino patriots in Cavite who were executed by musketry in Fort San
Felipe on September 12, 1986, for cooperating with Katipunan during the Philippine
Revolution against Spain.

Maximo Gregorio Hugo Perez
Maximo Inocencio Antonio San Agustin

2. What were the 2 factions of the KKK? Who were the leaders?
The two factions of Katipunan are Magdiwang and Magdalo. Magdiwang was
acknowledged as the supreme organ responsible for the successful campaigns against
the enemy. It was officially led by Mariano Alvarez. Magdalo was named after Mary
Magdalene. It was officially led by Baldomero Aguinaldo.

3. What happened in the Tejeros Convention?

The convention was called to discuss the defense of Cavite against the
Spaniards during the Philippine Revolution. The contemporary Governor general, Camilo
de Polavieja, had regained much of Cavite itself. Instead, the convention became an
election to decide the leaders of the revolutionary movement, bypassing the Supreme
Council.

Andrs Bonifacio, the contemporary Supremo (supreme leader) of the Katipunan

presided over the election. He secured the unanimous approval that the decision would
not be questioned.

President Emilio Aguinaldo Magdalo
Vice-President Mariano Tras Magdiwang
Captain-General Artemio Ricarte Magdiwang
Director of War Emiliano Riego de Dios Magdiwang

Director of the Interior Andrs Bonifacio Magdiwang

Bonifacio, accepted the decision but not before insisting on a recount of the
votes. Supporters such as Severino de las Alas made abortive efforts to help make
Bonifacio vice president. However, Daniel Tirona objected that the post should not be
occupied by a person without a lawyer's diploma. He suggested a lawyer like Jose del
Rosario is qualified for the suitable position. Bonifacio was insulted, demanded that
Tirona retract the remark. When Tirona made to leave instead, Bonifacio drew a pistol
and was about to fire at Tirona, but stopped when Ricarte tried to disarm him. Bonifacio
then voided the convention as Supremo of the Katipunan.

4. What happened to the Katipuneros after the death of Andres Bonifacio?

The death of Andres Bonifacio did not result to any good fortune for the
revolutionary forces as they suffered a series of defeats from the reinforced Spaniards.
Emilio Aguinaldo, realizing that it would be imposible for himto end the revolution, signed
a peace pact with Gov. General Primo de Rivera on December 14 and 15, 1897. This is
known as the Pact of Biak
