 The overview of performance data is based on drive speeds resulting
from the use of three-phase motors in a 50-Hz power network. Refer to
the respective proposal and order confirmation for exact operational
limits.
 The specified utilization limits are maximum values and may have to be
reduced depending on technical variations of individual situations. Re-
fer to the respective order documentation for binding values.
 The pressure limits depend on the casing material.
 The specified temperature limits depend on the gasket. Consultation is
required for use at temperatures that exceed the specification.

An integrated regulating valve provides for a small overpres-

sure in the area of the shaft seal. This avoids drawing of air
through the shaft seal during suction operation and prevents
dry-running of the shaft seal. Version KA2 does not have a
regulating valve and should therefore not be used for suction
operation.

Additional versions of the SM series
In addition to the versions shown previously, other application types, materials, shaft seals, bearings, quenches, and special screw
versions are available.
The most common variations are described briefly below. More extensive information about these and all other variations is available
upon request.
SM series in welded steel version.
Special characteristics:
 Flanges according to DIN and ANSI available.
 Version according to API 676 available.
 Double jacket heating available.
 Welded steel pumps with double-jacket heating and welded steel pumps with flanges according to API 676 may use only pipe-
installed pressure-relief valves (see separate Technical Documentation).
 The following diagrams must be observed with respect to the installed pressure-relief valves.
Applies to welded steel versions of the SMH and SMF series (without double jacket) with flanges according to DIN.
