HIP-HOP DANCING

Mechanics

1. All curriculum crews should have a minimum of (6) and maximum of (15) members.
2. All members of the curriculum crew should be a bonafide students of Hda. Conchita National
High School.
3. Each curriculum crew should submit their entry (including the names of dancers) on or before
October 23, 2023 signed by the Curriculum chair.
4. The duration of the dance should be a minimum of 3 minutes, and a maximum of 5minutes.
5.Any kind of hip-hop dance is allowed (locking, popping, krump, house,
stepping, breakdance, wacking, tutting, vogueing, party dances, hip-hop choreography) or any
kind of dance with hip hop as their focal thought of choreography.
6. No vulgarity, obscenity, and explicit contents are allowed.
7. Props that are not considered as an integral part of a crew’s “attire” are prohibited (ex.
canes, chairs, tambourines, musical instruments).
8. Attire may include accessories such as hats, scarves, caps, gloves, jewelry, etc. Removing
pieces of clothing during the performance is permitted provided it is not offensive or out of
character.
9. Body/face oils or paints/other substances applied to the body or clothing that may affect the
clean dry surface of the stage and the safety of fellow competitors are prohibited.
10. All costume malfunction resulting team members being exposed are grounds for deductions.
Please make sure to have dress rehearsals prior to competition to work out any costume
problems.
11. Performance order will be determined by the management via drawing of lots.

VOCAL SOLO
MECHANICS

1. There must be only one male or female participant from each curriculum.
2. The participant may choose so1ngs of her or his choice.
3. The participant is given a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 minutes for their performance.
4. Performing beyond the allotted time will result in a 10 points deduction.
5. Accompaniment should only be in minus one.
A6. u and decent attire must be worn.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

Voice quality and Tonality- 40%
Control and technique- 30%
Interpretation and Expression- 20%
Stage presence and impact- 10%
Total: 100%

LIP SYNCHRONIZATION

Mechanics:

1. Participants should be a bonafide students of Hda. Conchita National High School.


2. All curriculum members should have a minimum of (5) and maximum of (10) members
either all boys or girls group.
3. The battle will consist of each curriculum group representing every track lip syncing just one
song.
4. The song may be any song – from any era, any genre, as long as you are able to provide
the audio.
5. The maximum time limit is four to five minutes per performance.
6. Performances are encouraged to have a unique and creative theme, but theme is not
required.
7. Any acrobatics or stunts that could result in injury is prohibited. Results of the contest are
final and non-appealable.

CRITERIA for Judging:

Choreography and coordination of dance 30%


Accuracy of Lip Syncing 30%
Energy and Enthusiasm 20%
Costumes and/or Props 20%
Total 100%

VOCAL DUET
MECHANICS

1. Paticipants can choose any song either English or Filipino.


2. The contestants maybe both males, both females or combination of both.
3. The participant is given a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 minutes for their performance.
4. Performing beyond the allotted time will result in a 10 points deduction.
5. Accompaniment should only be in minus one.
6. Appropriate and decent attire must be worn.
7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
Criteria for Judging:

● Vocal Quality (tonality, tonal blend, appropriateness to genre, and technique) -------50%

● Style and Performance (rendition qualities, discipline, timing and precision, delivery and
interpretation, appropriateness of staging of song selected) --------30%
● Over-all appeal (stage appeal, audience impact and attire) --------- 20%

● Total of 100%

CHEERS AND YELLS

MECHANICS:

1. Each curriculum team will be composed of 30-50 members.


2. Participating curriculum are given the free-hand for their choice of music and costumes.
3. The use of drums and other instruments are allowed (if there is any available).
4. Music to be use must be submitted to the officers in charge at least 30 minutes before the
competition. Back up is highly encourage.
5. The duration of the dance should be a minimum of 3 minutes, and a maximum of 5minutes.
6. Stunts and lifting are encouraged. Tossing is strictly prohibited. 3rd degree lifting is not
allowed.
7. Cheers and yells must always promote the curriculum they represent.
8. Loudness and clearness of the words is encouraged.
9. Profanity and other inappropriate language are strictly prohibited.
10. In the vent performance is interrupted because of technical reasons caused by the event
equipment, facilities, etc. the team shall be given the option to either resume the
performance from where it stopped or repeat the entire performance.
11. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING


● Choreography/Execution (formation, variation, difficulty) ------- 40%

● Mastery (coordination, rhythm, timing/synchronization, precision) ------20%

● Cheers and Yells (loudness and clearness of the voice, content, originality, over-all impact)
---- 25%
● Costume and props (blending of colors, design and creativity) ------- 15%

● Total 100%
