In my opinion, as people engage more in international travel and become more familiar with other

countries, there may be a reduction in cultural differences and barriers for international understanding.
However, there are fundamental elements of culture and values that will continue to create major
barriers to understanding and communicating with each other.

It can be said that cultural differences Cultural differences are a fundamental and inevitable aspect in
the process of international communication and understanding. Although international travel may help
alleviate this difference somewhat, cultural differences still exist and continue to be a major barrier to
international understanding. That difference is reflected in many factors and is a very difficult barrier to
overcome in understanding and communication. To clarify this, I will analyze based on the following
factors below.

First, is the factor of cultural diversity. Every country in the world has its own culture. These cultures are
expressed through many different aspects such as language, customs, habits, beliefs and values. This
difference not only exists in daily life, but it also profoundly affects the thoughts, views, and approaches
to life of people in those countries. Traveling experience and exposure to many cultures of different
countries still requires sensitivity and continuous learning to be able to understand and absorb those
different cultural values. This will still be extremely difficult even though we have travel experience and
exposure to many cultures of many different countries.

Secondly, there is the problem and also the most common obstacle in international understanding. It's a
matter of language and communication. We all know how important language is in culture and
communication. It is also an important tool for communicating meanings, opinions, feelings and
information between individuals or groups. Language is not merely a system of signs and sounds, but
also a reflection of a community's culture, values, attitudes, and ways of seeing the world. Therefore,
language differences can be a major barrier to getting the right message and understanding. Although
we may use a global language like English, understanding the local culture and using the local language
is still very important to establish good relationships and deep understanding.

Besides language and communication, the factor of values and beliefs is also one of the factors that
affect becoming a barrier to international understanding. Each culture of a country has its own values
and beliefs, and these can vary widely between countries and regions. Understanding and accepting this
difference requires flexibility and respect for the views and values of others. Some values between
cultures may conflict with each other and create barriers to understanding and interaction.

And the final is the element of historical and cultural context. History and cultural context are factors
that reflect the development and formation of a community over time. They are fundamental to current
culture and have a profound influence on people's attitudes, values, and behaviors. Therefore, some
cultural differences between countries can be traced back to particular historical events and situations,
and an understanding of this history and culture is necessary for understanding and empathize with the
local people.

To demonstrate that cultural differences remain a barrier to international understanding, I will take an
example as follows. Suppose a Chinese and an American meet on a trip. Both have had travel experience
and have been exposed to different cultures before. However, when they start to talk and exchange
views on sensitive topics such as politics or the concept of family, cultural differences can cause
misunderstandings and conflicts between them.
For example, in Chinese culture, respect and adherence to social norms is very important. Chinese
people tend to avoid direct debates, avoid offending, and express opinions delicately. Meanwhile, in
American culture, freedom of expression and expression of personal opinions is encouraged.

When Americans express strong and frank opinions on certain topics, the Chinese may feel offended or
humiliated. Conversely, when the Chinese avoid debate and do not express their opinions clearly, the
Americans may misunderstand and assume that the Chinese do not care or do not have their own
opinions.

In this case, even though both have travel experience and understand each other's culture, cultural
differences still cause barriers to understanding and interaction. Overcoming this barrier requires
sensitivity and a sense of cultural differences, along with respect and a willingness to learn and
understand the views and values of others.

Thereby, it can be seen that although international tourism can open up opportunities to interact and
experience with different cultures, cultural differences are still an important factor and continue to act
as a barrier. in international understanding. However, through understanding, learning and respecting
cultural diversity, we can overcome this barrier and build positive relationships of communication and
understanding with local people.
