Important Note About Casting Successful Spells…

As you may know, there are 3 things that fuel every successful spell. Your belief… your
“intent”… and your ability to tap into the hidden energy all around you by visualizing
your end result clearly.
Some people do a better job of these 3 things than others immediately.
If you ever feel lost…and see that your spells aren’t bringing the results you desire – it’s
not because “you can’t”. It’s because you need a little extra help in these 3 areas.
There’s nothing like having someone take your hand and guide you through exactly what
you should be doing… not only to cast the spell – but how to believe in Magick… how to
focus your intentions… and how to visualize things so clearly that your spell has no
choice but to make your visualization come true.
Here’s where to get this extra, life changing help… delivered in a way like never before.
The full story is here, and I’d urge you to watch every second of this… if nothing else,
you’ll see why you can believe…

CHAPTER 1 – THE LAW OF KARMA
There is one principle that will guide you when you follow the Magickal path. It’s

called Karmic Consciousness or the Law of Karma.

In other words, what we put into the Universe boomerangs back to us.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

These words were spoken by the great Buddhist leader, Dalai Lama. What He means is that if you

want to be happy, make others happy.

How many times do we judge other

people every day? While listening to the

news or watching TV, while driving on the

road, sitting through meetings at school or

at work, or just talking to a friend, we all

have unkind or negative thoughts.

The law of Karma states that every

thought, word or action generates an

equally powerful response back to you. As

magickal beings, we need to understand

the cause and effect of all our thoughts,

actions and reactions.

As individuals, all we need to do is

think positively, speak kindly and live

compassionately to be rewarded with a life

of joy and happiness.

Before any ritual, ask yourself:

 Will this spell hurt anyone?

 By doing this spell will I be trying to control others?
 Am I doing this in anger or for vengeance?
 Am I reducing someone’s happiness?
 Will this negatively affect nature?

Now let us go through some of the preparations we need to do before we start

working spells.

Most of our tools and other items store energy in them. We need to cleanse this

item before we use it again in another ritual.

CHAPTER 2 – PREPARING FOR SPELLS
AND RITUALS

First, make sure you will not be disturbed while performing your ritual.

Remind your family that you need some time alone and not to interrupt you.

Meditation before working a spell is very important and will help you focus more on

your intentions.

Most rituals start with cleaning, cleansing and preparing your altar. Cleaning is

clearing the area of debris and other personal items that are not necessary for the

ritual. If you use an area used by others, you may have to remove their belongings

until after you have performed your ritual.

CLEANSING
All our ritual tools and objects need cleansing before we begin a spell. There are

many ways to cleanse so find out the properties of crystals, gemstones and other

items before buying them so you can care for them properly.

I Can’t Stress The Importance Of “Quick Cleansing”…

Before you do any spell, just a quick cleansing of your tools and area can set your spell up
for “success”. And…you should not only cleanse your tools… but you can actually charge
each one with a boost of energy that will be released during your spell.
This energy not only helps your spell bring the results you desire, but it also helps those
results come quicker. Setting up this energy boost is simple…but you’ve got to see it to
really “get it”, which is why I put the demonstration on DVD #2 in the masters course…

Here are some ways to cleanse:

 Sunlight – Place gemstones or crystals in warm sunlight for up to four

hours.

 Moonlight – Place your items on a windowsill overnight so the Moon’s

energy charges them.

 Running water - Place stones in a mesh bag and let a stream or running
water re-energize them.

 Soaking – Soak your items in pure spring water or water with kosher or
sea salt added. Check salt

water will not damage the

item. Do not leave items

soaking for more than four

hours

 Burying – Sometimes,
wrapping your items and

allowing them to remain

surrounded by Earth’s

energy is sufficient to purify

all negative energies.

Remember to dig them up

again; just make sure your

dog doesn’t get to it before

you do!

 Incense – Smoke cleanses

almost everything it passes

FIGURE 2 GEMSTONES BATHING IN THE MOONLIGHT
by. You can use any type of

incense (even Tobacco smoke) to purify and cleanse your sacred objects.

COMMUNICATING WITH THE SPIRITS
Why communicate with the spirits? Well, they are there to help all of us because

it is what they do. Some spirits are patrons of different careers such as Hecate who

is the patron of midwives.

If a spirit is trying to contact you , you can respectfully decline their help. Just

explain to them why.

If you accept a spirit’s help they do expect something in return.

When talking to the spirits be very clear in what you desire. Remember, if you

speak from fear then that is what you receive … what you most fear. Be careful

what you wish for. If you are negative then it is the negatives you receive.

THANKING THE SPIRITS

Spirits do expect something in return for their help. Here are a few things you

can do in return:

 Express your Thanks Artistically. Create something that celebrates their

generosity and power to say thank you for the spirit’s help. Write a poem,

do a drawing, whatever you feel comfortable with. Let your artistic

creativity be your guide.

Some spirits attach themselves to us because they feel

an affinity with our lives in some way.

 Perform a Ritual in their Honor. If a nature spirit helps you … plant a

plant in your garden. If a water spirit comes to your aid … spend some

time by the water. Remember, intuition is the way spirits often

communicate their messages to you. Allow them to have their say and

help you.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 11 | P a g e

 Plant and Animal Allies. Most spirits are allied with some form of plant
or animal so if you are visited in your dreams, or find yourself thinking

about plants and animals, take notice what they are telling you.

ALTARS
Your altar is your means of communicating with the spirits and is a place that

holds all the things you need to work your spells. Everything on your altar is there

for a specific purpose – candles, incense, food, drink, and other objects are on your

altar.

PURPOSE OF ALTARS

 Help from the Spirits . What you place on your altar for your spell work
serves to attract the spirits. Use the things that attract the specific spirits

you need help from for the spell you are working.

 Vehicle of Communication. Communicate your heart’s desire using

different colored candles and different objects made from varying

materials.

 To Provide Focus. You do not really need an altar to perform your

magick … all you need is visualization and focus. Your altar helps you focus

your energy on the purpose of your spells.

 To Provide Safety. Your altar provides a safe place for spirits to take a
break. If it is a place they feel safe in the will stay and help you achieve

your goals.

 To Say Thank You. Your altar is a tribute to the spirits and acts as
thanks for their communication and help.

SETTING UP AN ALTAR

To set up the physical sacred space, find a room or a corner in your home where you can be at

peace without anyone interrupting you.

The first step to a magickal life is to create your sacred spaces, areas of power

where you can find complete peace and clarity of vision.

Continually refer to this section before you perform your spells.

SETTING UP YOUR INTERNAL SACRED SPACE

When choosing your inner sacred place it is better for it to have a door you can

lock from inside. Find a sturdy wooden

table or hutch (the older the better). If it

has a hollow space in it, you can keep

your holy items safe and away from

prying eyes.

The altar needs something that brings

joy to your life for you to focus on. It

could be a photo or picture or statue of

something you admire. It can be made out

of wood, paper or any natural object

from your garden. A wreath, dried

flowers and leaves, twigs etc may be used

to create an altar indoors or outdoors.

First, create your internal sacred space.

FIGURE 3 DEEPLY MEDITATING IN YOUR SACRED PLACE
This is where you go when you meditate

after shutting off all the external stimuli that can distract you. It doesn’t matter

where you are physically, you should be able to “go” into this space instantly by

closing your eyes. This is the place where you keep your sacred thoughts, dreams,

hopes, inspirations and emotions. This is the base for your magickal creations.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 13 | P a g e

Here is a ritual to will help you define your inner space:

Step 1. Sit comfortably in a private space and deeply meditate on the things

that are sacred to you. Write them down.

Step 2. Now think of the things that always bother you and write them on the

other side of the paper.

Gather the following:

 a white candle in a holder

 a large glass bowl
 a glass of water

Step 1. Light the candle and allow its energy to envelop you and fill your body’s

aura.

Step 2. Next, take the paper and slowly read each item on it. Meditate on each

one.

Step 3. When you are done, say these words aloud with conviction:

These Sacred things that I see

Make them all a part of me

Help me raise my energy.

Step 4. Now gently hold the paper to the fire and, as soon as it catches fire,

safely drop it in the bowl. Now speak aloud:

Cleanse the Space inside of me

And rid all negativity

I accept no less

So Mote It Be!

Step 5. Absorb the positive energy surrounding you, which cleanses you with

white purifying light. Pour some water into the bowl and put out the rest of the

flames and ash to cleanse all negativity from your space. Gently snuff out the

candle.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 14 | P a g e

Step 6. Every time you sit in that space you should feel happy and safe.

Remember, you do not have to go out and buy any items right now; rather, you can keep an eye

out for them and when you are ready, buy them at your will. The more you use them, the more

powerful they become.

SETTING UP YOUR EXTERNAL SACRED SPACE

There are many spells that are more powerful if performed outdoors.

To setup your external sacred place find a quiet place where you will not be

disturbed in your backyard or anywhere else you feel comfortable and will not be

disturbed.

Now all you have to do is follow the same instructions as for setting up your

internal sacred space.

TOOLS OF MAGICK
You really don’t need any tools to work Magick. However, some people prefer to

use tools and sacred items to make their magickal experiences more focused and

enjoyable.

Candlelight is mesmerizing, the aroma of incense or herbal oils is soothing, and

other items such as gems and crystals may enhance your emotional environment

and attract positive energies.

Clean all tools before and after every ritual.

Step 1. Thoroughly clean your room before you set up an altar. Use sea salt

mixed with water to remove all negativity from the area. Scrub down the walls,

ceiling and floor and make the room as bare as you can.

Step 2. Set up your altar facing north.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 15 | P a g e

Step 3. Mark your circle using white cord, stones, candles or figurines. The circle

should be between 5 to 9 feet in diameter.

Step 4. Set up your altar with

items, posters, and pictures suitable

for the spell work you are going to

perform.

Here are some ideas:

 the pentacle
 candles in varying colors
and a candle holder with a

snuffer

 incense and holder

 matches
 god and goddess candles or
figurines

 cauldron or pot
 bowl or chalice
 spiritual book
FIGURE 4 THOROUGHLY CLEAN YOU SACRED SPACE

 athame
 wand (make your own)
 gemstones
 crystal
 salt
 bath oils (for cleansing baths and purification)
 compass
 mirrors
 broom

© E & E Marketing, LLC 16 | P a g e

Step 5. When you have decided the items that will go onto your altar, place the

Feminine Deity (or candle to represent the Goddess) on the left, and your Male

Deity (or candle) to the right.

Step 6. Represent the Directions (North, South, East and West) with white

candles and add more candles to complete the circle. Work by candlelight is

magickal.

Step 7. Use the broom to chase out the evil spirits or any dark energies lurking

around your space. If you do not have a broom, you can make one from twigs and

leaves or wave your arm in the same direction. Now your space is ready for use.

Step 8. Every day, once in the morning and once before you go to bed, spend at

least 10 minutes while sitting at the altar in deep meditation or reading a spiritual

book.

Step 9. You can control the magickal energies within you and around you by

having the courage and discipline to guide them with clear intentions. Once you

have pushed forth your intentions, do not go back to it or change it. Allow it to

work and set the magick in motion.

Step 10. Define the work to be done and then delegate it

to the Energies and Powers around you.

Step 11. Define the work done and delegate it to the Energies and Powers

around you.

How To Add A Powerful Energy Boost To Your Tools…
Did you know there’s a sneaky way to “embed” your tools with a boost of energy that will
help target the exact results you want from your spells?
This can make all the difference in the world for getting even better results than you’re
hoping for, but you’ve got to “see it” being done -- first hand -- for best results. This secret
technique is on DVD 5 in the home study course waiting for you here:
http://www.masteringmagickwitchcraft.com/secret/

WHY SPELLS FAIL

Sometimes our spells may not

work if the time isn’t right. All

energies (including our own) are

affected by different times of the

day, days of the week, seasons of the

year as well as by the planetary

changes and inauspicious alignments

that may work against our goals.

If this happens to you, repeat the

spell at a later time. Remember, if

your intention for the spell is to

increase love and health, work it

when the Moon is waxing.

If your spell is to decrease

something such as jealousy, greed,

evil, etc, perform it when the Moon

FIGURE 5 OH DEAR ... WHAT WENT WRONG?
is waning.

Remember to always consecrate our tools before every ritual.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 18 | P a g e

CHAPTER 3 – CASTING THE CIRCLE
The sacred circle defines where the ritual will take place. Mark it using candles,

rocks, stones or other natural items to keep your personal power inside and the

distracting energies outside. This creates an auspicious atmosphere for your rituals

and rites.

The circle is a sacred symbol for many religions. The practitioners of Vedic Magick

draw circles of protection, consecrate it with holy water and walk circles around

their Temple Goddesses every time they perform rituals. If there is no space to

create circles, practitioners turn around three times to signify the complete creation

of a circle of energy around them.

Outdoor environments are more conducive to the success of magickal rituals. When we are indoors,

our positive intentions are challenged or thwarted by the unnatural energies inside the buildings.

In Wiccan traditions, the circle represents the Goddess, the spiritual aspects of

nature, fertility, infinity, and eternity. To avoid the corruption of your sacred

energy rhythms, create a sacred sphere or protection around yourself before

performing any rituals.

Step 1. The circle is formed … now visualize your personal power streaming from

your body to the atmosphere through your Athame.

Step 2. Mark your circle physically with chalk, white cord, candles, flowers, shells

or Tarot cards.

Step 3. The circle is usually anywhere from 5 feet to 9 feet in diameter.

Step 4. Place the pentacle and a bowl of salt to the North to signify Earth.

Step 5. Light incense to the East to represent Air.

Step 6. Light a candle to the South to represent Fire.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 19 | P a g e

Step 7. To the West, place a bowl of water may be placed to represent the

element Water. Get all the items you need for the ritual including matches and

bowls for garbage such as burnt matchsticks.

Step 8. When you cast the circle, make sure you announce the purpose of your

magickal work. You could say:

I call this circle for healing” or “I call this circle for

protection while I commune with the Goddess and God.

Step 9. Walk the complete circle three times, starting with the East pointing to

the inner edge of the circle as a boundary. Use your hand, Athame or your Wand.

Step 10. On the first pass, as you walk, say aloud:

Create for me a place of peace and joy for my works

that contains the power within until I choose to send it
forth.

Step 11. On the second pass, say:

I call to the powers of the elements, Air, Fire, Water

and Earth, and the Guardians of the Gates, East, South,
West, and North to empower this circle and make it
strong.

Step 12. As you complete the second pass, say:

Through the Power of the Divine, and with blessings

of the Lady and Lord, do I conjure this circle of
communion.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 20 | P a g e

Step 13. On the third pass invoke the sacred Pentagram of Spirit in the air

toward the East Gate and say:

I declare this circle sealed to my Will. So Mote It Be!

Step 14. If, for any reason, you need to leave the circle, use your Athame or

hand to cut a doorway in the circle and leave through it. When you return, seal the

doorway by retracing the doorway in the opposite direction.

Casting Your Circle Is Important… But There’s

Something Even More Critical…
As you may know, there are 3 things that fuel every successful spell. Your belief… your
“intent”… and your ability to tap into the hidden energy all around you by visualizing
your end result clearly.
Some people do a better job of these 3 things than others immediately.

CHAPTER 4 – END OF RITUAL
When you finish your spell work it is important to perform an end of ritual to

release the Guardians and Energies in the circle back into the Universe.

Step 1. Walk in the reverse direction from where you started when you cast your

circle. Point your Athame or finger at the ground that defines the circle. Thank the

Goddess and the God for guiding you along this path.

Step 2. Snuff out the candles and the incense. Clear away any melted wax or

ash, and clean the tools and items you used in your ritual.

Step 3. Thank the energies and spirits that guided and protected you during your

spell work.

CHAPTER 5 – ESSENTIAL MAGICKAL
SUPPLIES
So what should you have on hand in your magickal pantry? You probably have

most of what you need right there already. But it is likely there will be special

things you want to use in your spell work. You can search far and wide for those

special tools and ingredients at your leisure. But, remember, the most important

tool you have is the magick imbued in your hands.

EQUIPMENT
Equipment can be as simple or as complex as you make it. Here are some things

to help you get started.

CANDLES
Candles are the most common and

most powerful tools you can use in your

magick work. They come in a huge

range of sizes, shapes and colors.

You can carve all sorts of significant

meanings, prayers and symbols into

them, and they are versatile and simple

to use.

Personalize your candles by rubbing

scented oils into them. Add shells, glitter

and anything that makes them reflect

you. Beware; make sure that whatever FIGURE 7 CHOOSE COLORED CANDLES FOR YOUR SPELL

you add is not going to go up in smoke. WORK

© E & E Marketing, LLC 23 | P a g e

CHOOSING CANDLES

When you choose your candles think about what you want to use them for:

 If you are using them to carve your spells on then you need one big
enough to fit your words of wisdom.

 If your spell calls for you to watch your candle burn out then you want a
small one that does not burn for long.

 Taper candles are excellent for rubbing fragrances into.

 Remember, always match the color of your candles with your intentions
for your spell, e.g. green for money or pink for romance.

CANDLE MAGICK TIPS

Here are some tips to make the most out of your candle magick:

 Have a specific goal for each candle you use.

 Focus on your intention when dressing your candles
 Hold candles within your hands to give them your energy. While your
candle is in your hands, make a wish based on the intentions of your spell.

 Remember to use commonsense when using candles in your spell work.

Never leave lit candles unattended. Unless specifically called for in your

spell, it’s okay to extinguish your candles when you finish your rituals. If

your spell does need to burn to the end wait until you have the time

before you do that spell.

 Every time you relight your candles refocus on your heart’s desire.

TOOLS FOR CARVING

Tools for carving can be as simple as a good, sharp knife from the kitchen or as

ornate as an intricately carved knife. Many witches commonly use craft knives and

rose thorns were the traditionally used carving tools.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 24 | P a g e

CHARCOAL
You will need charcoal for burning your incense and herbs. The best type of

charcoal is the small round discs.

CHOPSTICKS
Chopsticks are handy and make good tools for mixing salts, herbs and oils where

metal implements are detrimental to your spells.

CONTAINERS
You need all sorts of containers and what you use depends on what you want to

store. Store oils and herbs in dark glass jars and bottles to keep them from spoiling.

Shells can be used to store things that do not need to be sealed to keep.

Create yourself a spell box filled with the things that help you achieve your goals

… money, your resume for work, a photo of your dream partner. Always keep the

box closed when you don’t need the items for your spells … this keeps the power and

energy locked inside.

TOOLS FOR GRINDING

A mortar and pestle are excellent tools for grinding. They are cheap to buy and

come made from all sorts of materials. You can use it for grinding your spices and

herbs and, as you grind them, you infuse them with your heart’s desire to give

greater power in your spell working.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 25 | P a g e

PAPER
Paper is a versatile tool for spell work. You can fold it, decorate it, glue on

additions, made into shapes. It is best to use good quality paper and use colors that

complement your spell. But, of course, the choice of quality and amount of paper is

up to you.

If your spell requires the paper to be burned with wit6h your desires written on
it make sure you burn ever last scrap for your spell to be effective.

When choosing paper for spells that need to be burnt, ensure you pick papers

that will not release toxins into the atmosphere as this will distract from your spell

catching the attention of those you intend it for.

POTS AND PANS

Pots and pans are representative of your cauldron. A small cast iron pot is ideal

and has many culinary uses as well.

MAGICKAL SHOPPING LIST

Amazing as it may seem, but some of the groceries already in your pantry have

some of the most magickal properties. Here are some that are among the most

commonly used in spell work.

HONEY
Honey has been collected for centuries from bees and reflects feminine power.

There are many types of honey depending on the flowers the bees have collected

the pollen from.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 26 | P a g e

Here are some types of honey and their meanings:

 Manuka honey is ideal as an aphrodisiac and for healing the physical.

 For love spells use orange blossom honey.
 Honey from lavender holds a strong power and is favored by many
magick practitioners.

 For protection spells, rosemary or thyme honey is preferred.

MILK
Milk exists purely for nourishment and was the first substance that nourished us

all during the first few months of our lives. Milk comes from a nursing mother and

many species start life sustained on this.

Many spells call for milk to bathe in, and goat or sheep’s milk is the best choice as

it is more pure that cow’s milk and holds more natural power. Powdered milk can

also be used but use organic, whole milk is much better for bathing.

SALT
Is universally to protect body

and spirit, and is a cleanser. The

simplest circle of protection is

formed using sea salt. The more Use your mortar and pestle to grind

pure the salt the better it is for your salt for use and infuse it with your

use in your every day magic. Sea heart’s desire as you prepare your salt for

salts have the most power as your spells.

they are not refined and hold

the power of the ocean.

SPICES
Spices are usually aligned with fire and the sun, and were once one of the most

expensive commodities in the world as they only grow in a few places in the world.

These days you can buy a wide range of spices from your supermarket. Spices are

bought either ground or whole. Keep in mind, once spices are ground they lose much

of their energy and fragrance.

WATER
Water is the primary sustenance of all life on the planet Earth. It holds an innate

deep mystical power that can heal. Water is used in magickal spells in all manner of

ways and different types of water hold different energies to empower your spell

work:

 Holy Water. Holy water is water that is spiritually charged. Traditionally it

is water from the Jordon River but you can search out your own holy

water. Where is your favorite place along the river, at the beach or spring

water from a place that holds dear memories? These are all places you

can collect your holy water from for your spells.

 Flower Water. Flower water is made by steeping flowers and plants in

water. Here are two ways to attain flower water:

Supermarket. There are many flower waters offered in the

supermarket but be aware these are diluted and hold less

powerful energy.

Homemade. It is easy to make flower waters at home and they tend

to be the most effective for your every day magick. If you have the

flowers or plants growing in your garden it is even easier and you

know they have not been tainted with pesticides or chemicals of any

sort. If your don’t grow them, then what better way than to have a

wonderful, productive garden full of plants and flowers just ready for

use in your cooking and your spells.

FLOWER WATER RECIPE

This is a recipe you can use to make flower water of any type.

Step 1. Collect the petals from two or three roses and put them into a pot and

cover with around a quarter inch of pure water.

Step 2. Let the water slowly come to a simmer and simmer gently until the color

in the petals pale and they become limp.

Step 3. Strain the liquid and let it cool. Refrigerate once cool until you need it.

 Do not use plants sprayed with pesticides.

PLANTS AND FLOWERS

Plants are our most common allies, and

their power and beauty surround us

everywhere. Plants of some sort are used in

almost all every day spells and they are

used as a whole, or just the roots, petals or

leaves. They are more powerful when fresh

but dried plants are used if you cannot get

hold of fresh ones.

HERBS
Plants and herbs are the basis of most

medicines in our world today. Using herbs

for healing is a holistic approach to your

mind, body and soul.

FIGURE 8 PLANT YOUR OWN MAGICKAL GARDEN

infused in oil, turned into powerful incenses and for bathing.

PURE OILS
Pure plant oils are sacred and known as base oils. The oil is extracted from the

fruits and seeds of the plants where it is stored. All base oils have their healing

properties:

 The oil extracted from the rosehip helps reduce scar tissue.
 Oil extracted from the camellia is used for fine skin.
 Castor oil is traditionally known to help your hair grow,
 Jojoba oil is thought to keep your bust in tone.

The best type if pure oil is cold pressed as it is as close to the natural state as

possible. Check the label before you buy and if it does not say the oil is cold pressed

then it is likely heat or chemicals were used to extract the oil.

ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are not pure but extracted using any number of methods from

fragrant plant material.

These oils are very concentrated. Never take them internally and use only

sparingly externally. Each essential oil has its own properties and are used in a

myriad if situations. Do your research to find out which essential oils to use or what

purpose.

FLOWER ESSENCES
For centuries those practicing the mystical arts have collected the dew from

plants because the droplets contain the power of the plants they are collected from.

They also believe that these tiny droplets contain the energy of Earth, Air, Fire and

Water which makes it all the more powerful for use in your spells.

Dr Bach was the first to prepare natural flower essences in the 1930s. A
physician he believed in holistic medicine and the power of the flower essences to
help balance the mind, body and spirit.

Today, there is a huge range of flower essences available to help with all manner

of your spell work.

INCENSE
Incense has played a role in every culture for centuries. The fragrant smoke of

incense protects and cleanses the air and invites the spirits to visit. Incense is bought

as cones, sticks or loose but you can make it by crushing fragrant herbs, barks and

leaves and burning it on a charcoal block.

MAKING A SMUDGE STICK

 Dried Lavender, Rosemary and Sage
 Cotton

Smudge sticks are popular and used to clear evil from your home, yourself and

anything else you wish to cleanse.

Step 1. Bind the herbs tightly together into a wand about 8 inches long. You can

use one type of herb or combinations.

Step 2. Light your smudge stick and direct the smoke into the areas that need

clearing.

CHAPTER 7 – A FEW TIPS BEFORE

CASTING SPELLS
Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with using spells that others have

created, make sure you put your mind to it and say the words aloud and with

conviction.

It is your persuasive energy that will make the spell work. The words help you to visualize the

intended result so you can concentrate on getting your message to the Universe without distractions.

FOCUS ON ONLY ONE SPELL

Focus on only one spell at one time. If you plan to do several spells at once you

will be distracted from the purpose of each individual spell. Choose one spell, execute

it, wait for a few days to a week and then do it again if you need to. Try to give

each spell at least a month or two before you try again.

There are several reasons why a spell may not work. Lunar timings, other

astrological positions and groupings, time of the day, year, etc can affect your spells.

However, you can overcome most obstacles simply by using the power of your mind

to focus. If you have doubts ask the guides to help you overcome any negative effects.

The stronger you become in your spell work, the more you see the positive results

of your spells. It is certainly a very positive cycle, one that you will love!

Want To Find Out If Your Spell Will Work?

There’s a unique way to set up a natural “spell indicator” that will tell you if the spell you
just cast will work. It’s easy to make, and I show you how on DVD 4 of my home study
course…along with so much more, here:
http://www.masteringmagickwitchcraft.com/secret/

MEDITATE
Always spend some time in meditation to focus on your innermost thoughts. In

this altered state, you can manifest anything by visualizing it clearly. You are in

direct communication with the Spirits that will help to carry out your intentions. It

is through mental connections that you make a spell come true.

The more you focus on your goal, the more it becomes your reality. Remember, it’s important

to let your spell go once you complete your ritual.

If you dwell on your spell and continually relive better ways to have performed

your ritual, you hold the energies back. The Cosmos is smart enough to understand

exactly what you need and will create it for you. Remember, if you are negative

then it is the negative you receive.

BEFORE YOU START SPELL WORKING

The first thing to do is create a safe, secure environment for your spell work. For

this, you need to cast your circle. Since ancient times, the circle has been seen as a

sacred sign that symbolizes life. The circle protects us (since there is no beginning

and no end to its boundaries) and also keeps negative energies away.

Your circle keeps your intentions pure and does not allow your energy to be

negated by random thoughts or unnatural energies in the surrounding atmosphere.

MAGICKAL CALENDAR
Any day of the week is an excellent day to practice your magick. Some days are

more powerful than others for certain types of spells:

 If you want to want to increase the romance or money in your life, do

your spells as the moon waxes during the new moon period.

 If you want less of something, like problems or illness, do your spell work

as the moon wanes during the full moon period.

 Your birthday is your own personal day of power so it is a powerful time

to start new spells.

 May 1 and June 24 are special days for magickal power and are good

times to practice fertility, protection and love spells. May 1 is the best day

to get in contact with fairies.

FIGURE 11 BE AWARE OF THE MAGICKAL DAYS OF POWER

MAGICKAL PLACES
Anywhere you feel connected or safe are the best places to practice your magick.

Your spell work is an expression of your ability to focus to bring your heart’s desire

into realty. Outside your home, threshold areas are ideal:

 wherever there is a natural course of water,

 at the beach,

 within the forest,

 in your own garden,

 in the desert, or

 on top of a mountain.

Working your magick outside will increase its power as your feet are firmly

planted on the Earth.

Internally, one of your places of power is your kitchen because you prepare a lot

of the ingredients for your magick.

WORDS OF POWER
Words are powerful and help you direct your energy into whatever you intend

your spell to achieve. You can use words written by others but be sure to speak

them out loud. The most powerful words are the ones you create yourself:

 Always speak from the heart and be clear about your intentions. Think
about what you say and ensure your words truly express what you really

mean.

 Rhymes are great … they are easy to remember.

 Use positive affirmations. Make sure you speak in the present tense rather
than the future. For example, instead of saying I will be prosperous, say I

am prosperous.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 38 | P a g e

KEEP EXPECTATIONS REALISTIC
Keep in mind any magick is tied to the laws of nature. Do not have unrealistic

expectations from your spells.

Practicing magick is not a good reason to throw commonsense out the window.

You will never turn a cat into a dog; and you can never make someone fall in

love with you if it is not meant to be. But you can attract the attention of the

person you desire and see where relationship develops from there; and you can

never turn a cat into a dog … that’s just silly. But, then are so are many of our

expectations from magick.

CHAPTER 8 – THE ROLE OF ANIMALS
Animals are our favorite allies and you have animals allied to you personally.

ANIMAL ALLIES AND

TOTEMS
Your animal can be a live animal that

you connect with on a higher level such as

your dog or horse or cat. This is what was

referred to long ago as a familiar.

Your animal totem can also visit you

spiritually to teach you wisdom and the

skills you need, and to give you protection.

They will often appear in your dreams

or symbolically, and as visions or thoughts.

HOW TO USE ANIMALS FIGURE 12 DISCOVER YOUR ANIMAL TOTEM

What animals you attract as your totem will depend on what you need to grow

in your life. Animal allies and totems are there to give you guidance and protection.

 The best way to use animal allies is to understand them. Study them,
where they live, their habits, what they eat and you’ll feel a greater

affinity with your animal guides.

 If you can, surround yourself with them … photos, figurines, and even the
animal itself, if practical. By doing this you show you animal ally your

belief and they will increase their efforts on your behalf.

 By absorbing the qualities of your animal totem you can become secure in
your own identity and personal power.

FAMILIARS

MAGICKAL CATS
If you are afraid of success or of taking from Earth’s bounty, then the cat shows

you how to enjoy and successfully banish your fears forever.

Cats are directly associated with fertility and magick. It maybe a cat you need

to help you get in contact with your magickal powers and sensuality.

MAGICKAL DOGS
Dogs are the true companion and protector of us. Although many think it was us

that tamed the dog, it was the dog that chose us as their companion.

Dogs are our psychic guides and known for their ease of moving between the

realms. Dogs also have the ability to spiritually and psychically protect you if you let

them.

Encourage a canine presence into your life, it can be your own dog or use your

imagination:

 Imagine your favorite dog as your spiritual companion and guard.

 Have statues and pictures of dogs close by when performing your spells.
 Keep a photo of a dog under your pillow to protect you while you sleep.

CHAPTER 9 – GLOSSARY OF MAGICK
WORDS
There are many terms and words that are common in our magickal language.

Here are a few to help you familiarize yourself with the words of magick.

ALIVE
You think you know what being alive is about, it has a heartbeat and pulse, and

you are right. But in the world of magick it does not need either of these to be alive.

You don’t look for a heartbeat in a tree, do you? But is it alive. Magickal definitions

of alive:

 An element of Earth that occurs naturally – plants, stones, humans,

water, nature.

 Anything that radiates energy – the sun, moon and the stars, for
example.

 Anything that lives, is unique and has the potential for magickal power.
 What lacks life, can be recreated or manufactured en masse contains no
magickal power.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 42 | P a g e

APHRODISIACS
An aphrodisiac is a smell or food that stimulates desire and/or performance.

They are not a love potion.

Aphrodisiacs got their name from Aphrodite and the aphrodisiacs she gifted to
those around her.

I guess you are wondering whether aphrodisiacs work or not? Well it depends on

how the properties interact with each individual.

If you want to found out the affect of an aphrodisiac will have on your intended,

try it yourself. Have fun playing with these and their affects.

WELL-KNOWN APHRODISIACS
 Caviar  Honey  Roses
 Champagne  Jasmine  Saffron
 Chocolate  Mint  Shellfish
 Garlic  Onions  Sushi
 Henna  Oysters  Vanilla
 Hibiscus  Radishes

EVIL EYE
Have you ever wondered if the Evil Eye actually exists? Well it does. It is the

essence of all evil that threatens us here on Earth.

The Evil Eye is about warding off jealousy and malice, and other destructive

forces. Sometimes it manifests from the spirit world, but usually it is humans that

cast their negativity into the Universe by mistake. Those who do not understand

their actions often do it or it can be insidious and intentional.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 43 | P a g e

Here are two ways to avoid the Evil Eye:

 Don’t draw negative attention to yourself by boasting about your

prosperity and luck.

 Use a powerful amulet that deflects negative energy. Keep it on your

person at all times when you need it.

FERTILITY
There is much emphasis in today’s Western world on women choosing the right

time to fall pregnant. There are many fertility spells to help women fall pregnant

but they are also for clearing creative blocks and reaching creative goals.

INFUSION
Infusion is the process of steeping herbs in either water or oil to use the magickal

power of botanicals into your everyday spells.

WATER INFUSION
Infusing water is simple. The standard recipe is one teaspoon of dry or one and a

half teaspoons of fresh herbs for each cup of boiling water. Put the herbs into a

nonreactive pot or container, pour over the boiling water and leave it to steep for

up to 15 minutes. Strain the herbs from the water and it is ready to use in your

spells and potions.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 44 | P a g e

OIL INFUSION
Infusing oil is more complex than water but you can still use your kitchen for the

process.

Step 1. Put the herbs into a stainless steel bowl and the oil over them.

Step 2. Cover the bowel.

Step 3. Put the stainless steel bowl into a bath of simmering water (e.g. a

saucepan a quarter filled with water). Ensure the bowel floats in the water. Keep a

constant eye on the process.

Step 4. Simmer gently for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Don’t let the oil get

too hot as it can develop an awful smell if you let it boil or burn.

Step 5. Let the oil cool and strain it through four layers of cheesecloth to remove

all plant matter from the oil. You may need to repeat the straining process to

remove it all. If you don’t remove all the plant matter your oil will turn rancid.

To maintain a balance you need one ounce of fresh or one and a half ounces of dried
herbs to every cup of oil.

Step 6. If your spell includes essential oils or flowers, add them after you have

strained and cooled your oil.

An alternative method to infuse you oil is to:

Step 1. Put your herbs into a jar with a tight fitting lid.

Step 2. Pour the oil in and add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Make sure

the herbs a fully covered.

Step 3. Leave the jar out in the sun for a day and then move it to a cupboard

for two weeks.

Step 4. Strain as above.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 45 | P a g e

INFUSED OIL FOR PSYCHIC PROTECTION
Here is a recipe for an oil to rub into your body or use in your bath that protects

you psychically before you commence your spell work. It also helps to repair or

replenish your psychic energy. (Don’t use this oil if you are pregnant or trying to

conceive.)

You need:

 1/4 ounce dried (1/2 ounce of fresh) St. John’s Wort

 1/4 ounce dried (1/2 ounce of fresh) yarrow
 1 cup sunflower oil
 6 drops of oil of rosemary
 4 drops of angelica flower essence

Take your ingredients and use one of the above methods for infusing your oil.

Pour your oil into a bottle and add the rosemary and flower essence. Close the

bottle and roll it gently to mix.

If you are making a lot of oils at once use a natural preservative – ¼ teaspoon of

simple tincture of Benzoin (not compound tincture) for every cup of oil.

OCCULT
The meaning of occult is secret, hidden and usually refers to types of magick that

are relatively unknown. Occult is a neutral word and means neither good or evil

ORACLE
The word oracle means answers, and an oracle has the ability to receive answers

in the present about the future.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 46 | P a g e

PROSPERITY
Prosperity is something many magick practitioners strive to attain. Prosperity is

having enough to fulfill your needs, not being wealthy in terms of cash.

Prosperity indicates a level of financial independence and material comfort in your life, and

is a realistic goal to achieve through every day magick.

SHAMAN
A shaman can be male or female, and has the most profound magickal abilities.

Shamans can soul travel through dimensions. Because they have this ability they can

perform healings, take messages between the spirit world and return to this world

safely.

THRESHOLD
A threshold is the border where one element, power or force meets another one;

just as we have windows and doors, and where the river meets its banks. Then there

are thresholds in time where the energy is at its peak – New Year’s Eve, midnight,

sunset, dawn, your birthday. Your body has thresholds – your eyes, your mouth.

Thresholds hold great magickal power, but at the same time are when the
elements are most vulnerable.

© E & E Marketing, LLC 47 | P a g e

TOTEM
Totems are the way to describe an animal ally that has special personal

significance.

WICCA
Wicca refers to living in harmony with nature to enhance one’s magickal power.

It means wisdom or witch and is based on ancient Celtic beliefs.
