TOPIC: Types of educational management

1. Enumerate and discuss the three (3) types of educational management.


Answer:
The three types of educational management are human resources, physical and
material resources and ideation resources.
The first type of educational management is the human resources. Human Resources
of an educational institution comprise the entire staff, both the teaching and non-
teaching – teachers, clerks, researchers and other elements such as students, parents,
members of the community, members of the managing or governing body and
departmental officials. Management of human resources is of vital importance at
present and calls for selection, recruitment, appointment, hire, retention, development
and motivation of the personnel to achieve the educational objectives.
The second type of educational management is the physical and material resources.
For every organization or institution, basic infrastructure in concrete terms is essential.
Buildings, playgrounds, equipment’s, furniture’s, machineries and stationeries are
required for various practical purposes. Libraries, laboratories, auditorium and so on are
part and parcel of an educational institution for organizing different curricular and co-
curricular programmes. Lastly, the Ideation resources. The resources which are mostly
based on ideas and ideals, heritage, image are the curriculum, methods of teaching,
innovations and experiments. Like the individual, every organization has its own
personality with integrity, its own culture and its own values which are unique and
influential for the smooth functioning and effective management of the institutions for
creating motivation and self- pride among individuals. All these create feelings,
belongingness, involvement and self-satisfaction among the personnel for working and
implementing the programs educational institutions. At last it can be said educational
management will be meaningful if there will be a great deal of co-ordination and inter
relation among these three resources. The cause is that all these three resources are
interdependent and immensely contribute to holistic development of every educational
institution as a whole.

2. Differentiate educational leadership and educational management. Cite an


example.
ANSWER:
Leadership is focused on vision, motivation, the future, and the teams and people in
your school. Management provides systems and processes essential to the smooth
day-to-day running of the school. For instance, educational management deals with the

planning, coordination and improvement of the school operations. On the other hand,
educational leadership when it comes to process of enlisting and guiding the talents
and energies of teachers, students and parents toward achieving common educational
aims. Therefore, both leadership and management are essential for successful school
development.

3. How and when will you consider yourself as an effective manager?


As a teacher, it is also our role to be a manager of our classroom. We, teachers, don’t o
simply manage our classroom by keeping everyone in their seats and quiet. It's about
building strong relationships with your students, encouraging them to take part in their
own learning, and sharing a little of yourself. A classroom culture that is good for kids is
good for teachers, too.

TOPIC: KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

1. Why is knowledge management useful?


Answer: It is useful because it places a focus on knowledge as an actual asset, rather
than as something intangible. It helps the manager to locate and organize the relevant
information. It prioritize and curative your organization wherein it help employees to
focus on what’s important and eliminate the less relevant.

2. Why it is important for knowledge management to emerge and grow?


Answer:
Knowledge management needs to grow and emerge within the organization because as
the time passes, there’s always new ideas, invention, trend, and technologies
discovered and learned. That is the reason why, knowledge management should
emerge and grow every year.

3. In your own understanding, explain the relevance of knowledge management


in educational system.
Answer:
Knowledge management plays an important role to education which it makes it relevant
because it builds a professional teamwork by actively engaging people in sharing with
others what they know and what they are learning. Knowledge management gives
opportunities to increase, perform, innovate, compete in advance, integrate and
significantly boost efficiency and employees satisfaction while fostering high-level
strategy and innovation.

TOPIC: Models of educational leadership


1. What is the importance of managerial leadership?
Answer:
Leaders create vision, set a direction, and inspire and align people to accomplish
goals. They build new relationships and structures. Managers plan, organize, budget,

coordinate, control and execute activities within existing structures. Leaders focus on
roles, while managers focus on functions.

Managerial leadership is a combination of both management style and leadership skills.


In an organization and institution, without the managerial leadership, the organization
would fail. That is why managerial leadership is very important because it plans,
organize, budget, coordinate, control, and execute activities within existing structure.

2. How does leadership help an organization?


Answer:
Organizational leadership communicates the mission and vision, establishes the
strategic plan, and inspires individuals to put forth their talents to fulfill the goals
aligned with the strategic plan and, ultimately, the leader's vision

It is very important that in a certain organization, there must be a leader. It is because


there might create chaos inside the organization because everyone will do whatever
they want to do. Having a leadership in the organization, it communicates the mission,
vision, establishes the strategic plan and inspire individual to put forth their talents to
fulfill the goal aligned with their leaders’ vision.
3. What are the 4 factors of transformational leadership also known as the four
I’s.
Explain each.
Answer:
There are four ( 4 ) factors to transformational leadership, (also known as the "four
I's"):
 Idealized influence
 Inspirational motivation
 Intellectual stimulation
 Individual consideration
Each factor will help, The managers use this approach in the workplace.
• Idealized influence describes managers who are exemplary role models for
associates. Managers with idealized influence can be trusted and respected by
associates to make good decisions for the organization.
• Inspirational motivation describes managers who motivate associates to
commit to the vision of the organization. Managers with inspirational motivation
encourage team spirit to reach goals of increased revenue and market growth for
the organization.
• Intellectual stimulation describes managers who encourage innovation and
creativity through challenging the normal beliefs or views of a group. Managers
with intellectual stimulation promote critical thinking and problem solving in an
effort to make the organization better.
• Individual consideration describes managers who act as coaches and
advisors to the associates. Managers with individual consideration encourage
associates to reach goals that help both the associates and the organization.

4. What is the difference between Participative and Political Leadership?


Answer:
Participative leadership allows employees to hold managers and supervisors
accountable for the decisions they make and the actions they take. This ultimately
offers leaders the opportunity to challenge themselves and achieve growth to become
more competent in the interest of their teams while political leadership implies both a
political and operational dimension. Strong and structured political support, with
ministers determining the overall. In participative leadership is a managerial style that
invites input from employees on all or most company decisions. The staff is given
pertinent information regarding company issues, and a majority vote determines the
course of action the company will take. On the other hand, political leaders are vital –
they determine the allocation of power and money through governmental policies,
establish partnerships with other stakeholders, and make decisions that can have a
major effect on a nation's well-being and its citizens.
5. What is the importance of leadership in modern times?
Answer:
Leaders help to communicate the vision and mission of the firm to employees. This
provides direction and helps everybody identify the roles that best fit skills and
experiences. Through clear communication, leaders encourage their subordinates to
act for the actualization of objectives

TOPIC: PARADIGM SHIFT IN THE PHILIPPINE EDUCATION SYSTEM

1. Elucidate the different roles of teachers in a new a paradigm shift of education.

Answer:
As front liners for this paradigm shift, we play a very crucial role in ensuring its success.
The 21st century education drives the learners to actually utilize technology-based
learning. It’s about developing in the students the skills that they need and help them
develop the confidence in using this skill to succeed in this 21st century world.
The change in our role as teachers proves the paradigm shift.
In the New Paradigm teachers facilitate or guide students to learn. Transfer of
information is no longer linear, dialogue and display of creativity are encouraged that
the teachers focus on competency rather than on content.
Students are train to think critically, solve simple and complex problem, collaborate in
various task, display creativity and adapt in various situation, with this premise in mind.

2. Explain what are the reasons that our country is currently experiencing
education mismatch between senior high school program.

Answer:

In the Philippines, Pajares,et.al of 2018, conducted a study on the sectoral skills in


mismatch between senior high school program and top in demand jobs a projected in
demand jobs in the province of Cebu. It reveals that a mismatch particularly skills gap
or skills deficit exist because skills emphasized in the senior highs school program is
not parallel to the demands of the labor market.

3. Based on your own experience, do you agree that teachers are really equipped
with trainings and has sufficient resources to facilitate teaching and learning?
Why or why not?
Answer:
Yes, I strongly agree. As a teacher, I could say that we, teachers, need to be equipped
in trainings and must have a sufficient resource to facilitate teaching and learning
process. It is because teaching is not all about lecturing a lesson to the students but
also it needs sufficient resources to aid and supports learning process of the students.
These trainings and resources will help the teachers to be effective in their teaching.
These are a powerful force that help them to be innovative in their teaching and help
them to make the students actively engage in any activities given to them by the
teachers.
