INDISPOSITION

The noun INDISPOSITION has 2 senses:

1. a slight illness
2. a certain degree of unwillingness
Aphorism 150:
If a patient complain of one or more trivial
symptoms, that have been only observed a short time
previously , the physician should not regard this as a
fully developed disease that requires serious medical
aid. A slight alteration in the diet & regimen will
usually suffice to dispel such an indisposition.
In a footnote 7 , Hahnemann writes:
It is not necessary to say that every
intelligent physician would remove this exciting
or maintaining cause ( causa occasionalis) ,
where it exits , the indisposition there upon
generally ceases spontaneously.
There are apparent diseases, which are not
diseases , but are disturbed states .Those states
are called as INDISPOSITIONS.
✓ A psoric individual has his periods of indispositions
from external cause, but these external causes do not
inflict psora upon him.

✓ Indispositions from external causes mimic the

miasms, but the removal of the external cause is
likely to restore the patient to health.
Ex: Business failures
Depressing tribulations
Unrequited affection producing suffering in
young girls
These are apparent causes of disease , but in
reality they are only exciting causes of
indisposition
The active cause is within & the apparent
causes of sickness is without.
No psora = no deep miasmatic influence within
his economy
There would be an orderly state.
Because of psora man is experiencing a disorder
state.
The physician must discriminate between the causes :

External cause or apparent cause

OR
True cause ( centre to circumference)
When Hahnemann speaks of true sickness he
speaks about miasmatic disease.
"Then the indisposition usually yields of itself," or
if the psoric condition has been somewhat
disturbed, order can be restored by a few doses
of the homoeopathic remedy.
EXAMPLES:

Distension of
After Over eating abdomen &
indigestion

What is your advise ?????

INDISPOSITION

Advising light diet

& fasting

Healthy state
If complaints prolonged then
few doses of homoeopathic
medicine is required
If a person has a tendency to faint/ syncope from strong
smelling flowers

Advise for the removal of that flower from

room
EXAMPLES
⦿ Some people are very sensitive that they cannot live in the
ordinary atmosphere, then they should be sent to mountains ,
warm lands , cold lands.
⦿ If a foreign body is present in the cornea which excites
inflammation then a physician must remove the foreign
body.
⦿ If wounded artery is bleeding & causing fainting – then
ligate the artery
⦿ Loosen the overtight bandage on a wounded limb that
causes mortification
⦿ This is removing the occasioning cause, the apparent
aggravating cause of suffering.
⦿ The external or apparent cause , the disturbing cause in
his sick state is removed but the cause of his sickness is
prior to this,
⦿ Old school physician takes only one symptom & prescribe
upon that.
⦿ Taking only one symptom from a group of symptom is
incorrect because it will not consider patient as a whole.
⦿ Ex: If a group of symptoms arises from uterus .Old school
physician removes the uterus itself to treat the disease.
⦿ This type of treatment is incorrect & Hahnemann condemns
it.
The Organon condemns on principle the removal
of external manifestations of disease by any
external means whatever.
"Now as in a disease from which no manifest
exciting or maintaining cause has to be
removed we can perceive nothing but the
morbid symptoms, it must be the symptoms
alone by which the disease demands and points
to the remedy suited to relieve it."
Hahnemann divides homoeopathy into two
parts:
1.The science of Homoeopathy
2.The art of Homoeopathy
The science of Homoeopathy :-
The science treats of the knowledges
relating to the doctrines of cure, the knowledge
of order (physiology) the knowledge of disorder
in the human economy (pathology) and the
knowledge of cure
The art of Homoeopathy:-
Consists in making application of the
science.
Disease is studied as a state of disorder .
Disease is also studied from the symptoms of
disease that have caused disorder in the human.
Nature and quality of disease id studied by
Materiamedica
The physician who is the most successful is he
who will first heal for the love of healing, who
will practice first for the purpose of verifying
his knowledge and performing his use for the
love of it.
Memorizing symptoms or memorizing key-notes
or learning prescriptions, with really nothing in
the mind, and the memory is only charged with
a mass of information that has no application,
and is only confusion leading man to worse
confusion.
In a word, the totality of the symptoms must be
the principal, indeed the only thing the
physician has to take note of in every case of
disease, and to remove by means of his art, in
order that it shall be cured and transformed into
health
