that prioritizes product marketing and consists of objectives, plans for

accomplishing those objectives, and measures for success.

Rationale of The Study

We are conducting a study on Yanies Chicken House's to evaluate

industry and attract new customers while retaining the existing ones.

Our study aims to provide valuable insights and recommendations to

help them achieve their business goals.

objectives, strategies, and tactics, as well as the budget allocated for marketing

initiatives. It enables companies to identify their target audience, market trends,

Society is one of the primary targets here in our industry. The marketing

plan helps the existing customers know about their business’ new products and

services. It promotes customer loyalty and helps your business expand and be

successful.

Chapter II- INDUSTRY OF LOCALITY

Product/Service Strategy

Product strategy refers to the set of decisions and actions taken by the company

for managing and developing its product line to achieve its business objectives. It

involves identifying the needs and preferences of the target market within local area

(General Santos City), designing the products that fulfill those needs, and creating a

plan for introducing and marketing those products to the customers. Product strategy

may also involve deciding on the pricing, packaging, distribution, and promotion of the

products.

Service strategy is a plan of action that outlines how a company intends to

design, develop, and deliver its services to meet the needs of its target customers. It

involves identifying the service offerings that best align with customer needs,

determining pricing and promotion strategies, and establishing metrics to measure

service performance.
Product Line

Every company has its own products of different kinds. Products that are

going to sell and being sold can be tangible or intangible. Tangible means, a

product that can be easily seen or recognize and can be touched, while

intangible refers to a product that could not be seen and touched.

classified as Main dishes, Side dishes, Desserts, Beverages.

Product Package, Labeling, Packaging

Product packaging includes the materials used to protect and contain a

product during storage, transport, and display, serving both functional and

marketing purposes. Labeling involves adding information to the product or

packaging, such as the product name, ingredients, and usage instructions,

and is frequently mandated by law.

Branding

Branding is the process of creating a distinct identity for a

business in the mind of your target audience and consumers. At the

most basic level, branding is made up of a company's logo, visual

design, mission, and tone of voice.

Yanies chicken house’s branding strategies are, first, their logo

that features the name Yanies with a chicken on the letter Y. Yanies

uses signature colors of Green, which symbolizes the banana leaf that

encourages customers to use their hands when eating, and Yellow and

Red, which symbolizes the chicken, which is the main focus of their

branding. Yanies Chicken House also uses a catchy tagline “Swak sa

lasa, sakto sa bulsa.” ("Great in taste, just right for the budget.") This

tagline encourages customers to dine at Yanies Chicken House as it

promises food that is not only delicious but also reasonably priced,

making it great value for their money.

Packaging

Packaging involves the design, production, and evaluation of

protective materials for products during distribution, storage, and sale.

The primary objective of packaging is to safeguard the product from

external factors, while also preventing the product from adversely

affecting the environment.

Yanies utilizes carton boxes for their chicken product and plastic

covers, containers, and cups with their logo imprinted for their other

items to safeguard their product quality and ensure customer

satisfaction, while also promoting their brand recognition.

Labeling

Product labeling means displaying information about your

product on its packaging. Other than the name of the item and your

brand, it should also show all the details that your customers need to

know to influence their buying decision. Labeling is more than just a

title; it is the first point of contact with the buyer. Any business that sells

something needs its products labeled to be able to communicate its

items’ value effectively.

Yanies has only one way of labeling their products. In their

product labelling they only put the name of their company and its logo

on their product, which is Yanies. No other names are put in their

boxes, containers, cartons of their product except the company name.

Positioning Strategy

A positioning strategy is a strategic marketing plan that helps

determine where your business stands in the market and how it should be

positioned to attract more customers. It is a marketing strategy focused on

distinguishing a brand from its competitors.

Yanies Chicken House employs multiple positioning strategies,

focusing on specific product attributes such as their chicken dishes, user

categories including individuals, families, and friends, as well as benefits such

as affordability, safety, and deliciousness. By using a chicken as their logo,

Yanies promotes their main dish, but they also offer a variety of chicken

dishes that they process with high-quality and safety procedures.

Market Share

Market share is the percentage of the total sales of the market that is

obtained by the certain company and the industry in a given time period.

Observing the increase and decrease in the percentage of sales is very

important. It is the basis on what are the strategies that they should implement

to increase their sales in the next years. Knowing the percentage

obtained

between the industry and the business surely helps the company. The bigger

the part of the market share obtained by the company the bigger the chance

that they are keeping away their competitors.

Chapter III-Industry Analysis

A. Threat of Entry

New entrants can change Yanies business performance and the conditions of the industry

environment. The impact of new companies is considered in this part of the Industry

analysis. The external factors that create the moderate threat of new entry against

Wendy’s are as follows:

Moderate cost of doing business (moderate force)

Moderate ease of brand differentiation (moderate force)

High cost of brand development (weak force)

The moderate cost of doing business is an external factor that limits the entry of some

companies. Also, the moderate ease of brand differentiation enables some firms to readily

compete against Wendy’s. However, the high cost of brand development prevents many

new companies from succeeding in competing against firms, like Yanies. In this part of the

Industry Analysis, the threat of new entrants is a considerable issue facing the food-

service business.
B. Threat of Substitute for Products and Services

Yanies faces the threat of substitutes in the market. The impacts of substitutes on firms

and the industry environment are analyzed in this part of the Industry Analysis. In Yanies

case, the following are the external factors that create the strong threat of substitution:

Low switching costs (strong force)

High differentiation of substitutes (strong force)

High affordability of substitutes (strong force)

Consumers can easily move away from Yanies toward

substitutes because it is easy to do so, based on the low

switching costs. For example, fine dining restaurants and

groceries are easily accessible. High differentiation is an

external factor that makes substitutes attractive for many

consumers. Moreover, in this part of the Five Forces analysis,

suppliers are a minor concern in Yanies strategic decision-

making process.
C. Bargaining Power of Suppliers

Suppliers determine the availability of materials Yanies needs in its business. In this part

of the Industry Analysis, the effects of suppliers are considered in terms of how they

impact Yanies and the industry environment. The following external factors reflect the

weak bargaining power of Yanies suppliers:

Low forward integration (weak force)

High overall supply (weak force)

Moderate size of suppliers (moderate force)

Suppliers have a weak influence on Yanies, partly because they have minimal forward

integration. The external factor of forward integration is the degree of control that

suppliers have in the distribution and sale of their products to firms like Yanies. Also,

suppliers are weak in the industry environment because of the abundance of supply in the

market. Despite the moderate size of some suppliers, they are not big enough to impose

their demands on the food-service company. As shown in this part of the Industry

Analysis, suppliers are a minor concern in Yanies strategic decision-making process.

D. Bargaining Power of Buyers

Consumers are major influences in the hamburger fast-food restaurant industry

environment where Yanies operates. This part of the Industry Analysis determines how

customers influence business performance. The following are the external factors that

maintain the strong bargaining power of customers on Yanies:

Low switching costs (strong force)

High substitute availability (strong force)

Moderate quality of information (moderate force)

The low switching costs enable customers to easily move from Yanies to other

companies. There are also many substitutes in the market. This external factor empowers

Yanies customers to consume substitutes instead. Furthermore, consumers have access

to information to help them decide when buying from the food-service company. Based on

this part of the Industry Analysis, the effects of the bargaining power of customers on the

industry environment is also one of Yanies priority concerns.

Business. These prerequisites are necessary and serve as the most significant first
step in starting a business.

Money/Ability to Buy

There are three main social class categories: Lower class, Middle class, and

Upper class. The Lower class includes those experiencing unemployment,

homelessness, and poverty, while the Middle class consists of two levels: the Upper-

middle class and the Lower-middle class. The Upper class is split into the Upper-

team, such as account executives or sales managers, or to a separate contracts

team that specializes in negotiating and finalizing agreements.

Yanies company holds several permits and licenses that grant them legal

permission to operate their business. These include business permits, registration,

BIR, and DTI permits with the proper regulatory bodies for their respective

industries. They also have ENR clearance, a sanitary permit, and a certificate of

potability that are related to water quality and safety regulations. (See Appendices)
Need and Wants Identified

understand the distinction between the two. Needs are necessary for a

person's survival, while wants are desirable but not essential. Yanies chicken

house satisfies both needs and wants by providing food that meets

basic

requirements and fulfills desires. Even though individuals have different

wants, they all share the same necessities, which are essential for their

appeal to their target audience.

Yanies Chicken House offers various products that can be classified as

chicken and others. The definition of "want" may differ for each person based

on their individual preferences.

Chapter V- Existing Strategies

Pricing Strategies

Pricing strategy refers to the methodology used by businesses to determine

the optimal price for their products or services. A well-designed pricing strategy

can

help a company achieve its desired business goals, such as maximizing

profits, increasing market share, or attracting new customers.

Pricing Method

Pricing method is a technique that a company apply to evaluate the

cost of their products. This process is the most challenging obstacle

encountered by a company, as the price should match the current market

structure and compliment the expenses of a company and gain profits.

Yanies Chicken House takes into account various factors, including

ingredient costs, overhead expenses, competition, customer demand, and

market trends, indicating a possible use of cost-plus or competitive pricing.

The restaurant also implements a flexible mark-up pricing strategy by adding

ten pesos for unli-rice. Thus, Yanies Chicken House may employ a blend of

cost-plus, competitive, and flexible mark-up pricing methods.

A company’s pricing structure is powerfully influential over how the

company is perceived from the outside and how fast they're likely to grow. A

company with a solid grasp of their buyer personas and the competitive value

services to customers. It includes various activities such as transportation,

warehousing, and inventory management. The goal is to ensure that products are

delivered to customers efficiently and effectively.

Sales Force Size

The sales force size of a company refers to the number of sales

representatives or personnel that are employed by the organization to sell its

products or services. The three common methods of determining the sales

force size are the breakdown method, the workload method, and the

incremental method.

Yanies Chicken House in General Santos City, J. Catholic uses the

breakdown method as they employ a team of six, including a manager,

cashier, server, janitor, and two cooks, each with specific duties to ensure

smooth operations and customer satisfaction. The cashier handles

transactions and inquiries, the server takes orders and serves, and the cooks

prepare food and maintain kitchen hygiene. The janitor is responsible for

cleaning and disinfecting the facilities and equipment. The team collaborates

and helps each other with tasks when necessary, using the breakdown

method for efficient and effective operations.

Channel Distribution
Channel distribution refers to the process of delivering a product or

service to the end customer through different channels such as retailers,

wholesalers, and direct sales. The goal is to make the product easily

accessible to the customer while also optimizing profits for the manufacturer.

The success of channel distribution is often measured by factors such as

sales volume, customer satisfaction, and market share.

Yanies Chicken House began as a single restaurant in General Santos

City six years ago. Since then, they have expanded their business by

franchising, allowing others to open Yanies Chicken House branches. Today,

Yanies Chicken House has multiple locations.

Figure 1

Figure 2

Channel Distribution (Indirect)

Dealer Coverage Strategies

Dealer coverage strategies are methods used by companies to ensure

their products or services are available and accessible to customers through

their network of dealers or distributors. This involves expanding the reach of

their brand beyond their primary location.

Yanies started their business in General Santos City. To distribute its

products and reach a larger customer base, Yanies is expanding their brand

presence in Alabel, Marbel, and Polomolok by establishing branches along

major highways and in front of prominent shopping centers. This ensures that

their products are readily available and accessible to customers, increasing

their market reach and potential sales.

Order Processing

Order processing is the series of steps that a company takes to fulfill a

customer's order. It involves receiving the order, verifying the order details,

preparing the order for shipment or delivery, and sending the order to

the

customer. It is an important part of providing good customer service and

ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.

Yanies Chicken House uses both traditional and modern order

processing systems. The traditional system is the over-the-counter method

where customers physically go to the restaurant, place their orders with the

cashier, and wait for their food to be prepared. On the other hand, the modern

system is the use of food delivery apps like Food Panda, where customers

can order online and have their food delivered to their doorstep.

Collection of Term

Collection of terms is the process of collecting payments from

customers who owe money to a business which is known as collection. It

involves collecting payments from customers for their purchases. Taking

payments in person, sending invoices and reminders, and contacting clients

who haven't paid their bills on time are a few examples of how to do this.

Yanies Chicken House collects payment from customers via cash basis

once the order is completed. To facilitate deliveries, they have partnered with

food panda as their delivery service and also accept credit card payments.

Once the transaction is approved, the order is sent to the restaurant, where it

will be prepared and delivered to the customer by the food panda delivery

personnel.
Chapter V- Proposed Strategies

Promotional Strategy

A company's promotional strategy may involve a combination of different

marketing tactics, such as advertising, personal selling, public relations, sales

promotion, and direct marketing. The aim is to use an appropriate mix of tactics that

can effectively reach and engage the intended target audience.

Promotional Mix

The promotional mix is the collection of marketing strategies and

communication methods that a company uses to reach its target market. This

often incorporates a mix of marketing strategies, including social media

marketing, direct marketing, personal selling, public relations, and advertising.

Yanies utilizes a mix of marketing strategies, including direct marketing

through food box distribution, traditional advertising with outdoor posters, and

online marketing via social media. These approaches enable Yanies to

connect with customers, showcase offerings, and reach new audiences,

complemented by additional strategies like social media marketing, personal

selling, and public relations.

Promotional Media

Promotional media refers to the various channels and tools used by

companies and organizations to promote their products, services, or brand to

a target audience. These media may include advertising, public relations,

sales promotions, personal selling, and direct marketing, among others.

Effective use of promotional media can help businesses create awareness,

generate interest, build brand loyalty, and increase sales.

Yanies utilizes a range of promotional media across different

platforms. They engage in sales promotions through giving out food boxes to

schools, employ outdoor advertising using attractive posters, and utilize social

media marketing via Facebook pages. These media encompass both

offline

channels, such as physical distribution and outdoor advertising, and online

channels, specifically social media platforms.

Chapter VI Conclusion and Recommendation

Conclusion

A research study's conclusion section is crucial for clearly expressing the findings

and making an impact on the reader. It serves as a brief summary of the gathered

data, emphasizing the most important conclusions and insights. Additionally, it offers

interpretations and effects related to the results, defining possible directions for

further research.

Researchers have identified Yanies' target market as lower-middle and middle-

class individuals. This includes students and customers seeking affordable fast-food

options. Yanies also views nearby pastilans as its competitors. To summarize,

Yanies caters to budget-conscious individuals, particularly students, who are looking

for affordable fast-food alternatives while keeping an eye on competing pastilans in

the vicinity.

Yanies has communicated its brand message to its target audience by

utilizing a promotional mix that consists of sales promotions, outdoor advertising,

and social media marketing, eventually resulting in an increase in sales and

continued success in the industry.

Yanies Chicken House offers a diverse menu comprising main dishes, side

dishes, desserts, and beverages. The researchers found that Yanies provides an

extensive selection of reasonably priced goods that cater to a wide range of tastes.

These offerings have proven to be highly attractive to the general public due to their

affordability and variety

Recommendations

A recommendation is a necessary tool to help improve a business as it suggests

actions to take to get better outcomes. As they can rely on the recommendations of

others to make informed decisions, it may serve as a network of assistance for

business owners. In the end, following a recommendation could lead to favorable

results for the company and the business owner.

Maintain sanitary restroom and hand-washing station

The researchers strongly encourage Yanies Chicken House, an

affordable dining option for the general public, to offer suitable restrooms and

hand washing stations that are often presentable and prepared with soap. It is

inappropriate to know that they are lacking one of these accommodations as it

puts the customers' health and well being at significant risk. Yanies Chicken

House can show their commitment to giving all of their customers a secure

and hygienic dining experience by taking this action.

Ensure security measures

The researchers recommend Yanies Chicken House to employ a

security guard in order to ensure the security of its customers, especially

considering that the restaurant is located in a public spot where anyone can

enter without restriction. In order to avoid conflicts and keep the environment

safe for customers, this would be an assertive approach.

Ensure adequate product serving quantities

The researchers recommend Yanies Chicken House to think about

making their product servings larger. They found that the current serving

sizes.

are viewed as being inadequate for the price and that increasing them might

enhance the restaurant's standing with customers. Yanies Chicken House

may be able to draw in more customers who are looking for value by offering

larger serving sizes, which would boost sales and give the restaurant a better

reputation.

Update outdated interior decor

Lastly, to keep their environment fresh and enticing to customers, the

researchers advise Yanies Chicken House to update their interior design on a

regular basis. They pointed out Yanies' continued use outdated Christmas-
themed illustrations. Customers who are seeking a more modern and up-to-

date experience might be turned off by this. Yanies can maintain a good

reputation and draw in new clients by keeping their interior design modern. A

well-designed interior can improve the enjoyment of the food and help create

a memorable dining experience for customers. The ambiance of a restaurant

is crucial for the overall dining experience.
