Vehicle diagnostic equipment

ATTENTION !
The system is under pressure!
The “7-speed dual clutch transmission 0CJ, 0CK, 0CL” is equipped with an electric ATF pump and a
hydraulic pressure accumulator.
The electric ATF pump can be started at any time.
Due to the hydraulic pressure accumulator, the ATF system is under pressure even when the ignition is
switched off.

Before opening the gearbox, the electric ATF pump must be deactivated each time and the hydraulic
pressure accumulator must be emptied.

If it is not clear what the state of the system is, e.g. e.g. defective gearbox control unit or gearbox of
unknown origin, loosen the screws of the mechatronic unit only minimally so that the oil pressure
in the pressure accumulator can slowly decrease.

Detach the electrical connector from the automatic transmission control unit -J217- before removing
the oil pan.

Use protective glasses!

Attention!
Danger of damaging the gearbox.
♦ Remove all the plugs that were placed in the ATF pipes and in the transmission during disassembly.
♦ If the plugs are forgotten, ATF cooling will not work and the transmission will be damaged.

The system is under pressure!
• Before opening the ATF circuit, deactivate the ATF pump and empty the hydraulic pressure
accumulator!

– Tighten the screws in stages, following the
indicated order:

a completely horizontal position.

• Electromechanical parking brake button pressed
to activate it.
– Remove the rear soundproofing element →

– Equipment variant: unscrew the screws -arrows-


and the nuts -2-.
– Remove the closing piece -1- for the cross
straps.
– Place the used oil collector and extractor
equipment -VAS 6622A- underneath.
– Connect the vehicle diagnostic equipment to the
vehicle and start with the Diagnosis] operating
mode.

The engine should not be started if there is
no ATF in the transmission.

Respect the regulations regarding waste
management.
– Tighten the ATF discharge screw.
– Clean the cross brace for the group carrier and
remove any traces of ATF.

♦ For the 0CJ, 0CK, 0CL, 0DN, 0DP double
clutch transmission, only the ATF that is
available as a spare part should be used.
♦ The use of other oils causes failures in
the operation of the gearbox or its
breakdown.
♦ Take into account the assignment →
Electronic spare parts catalog
♦ The manual gear oil pump -VAS 6617-
must be clean. ATF should not be mixed
with other oils! If necessary, flush the
manual pump with ATF.

– Open the control hole and fill the


closing screw -B-.

– Insert the manual gear oil pump -VAS 6617-


together with the -VAS 6617/1- and the
adapter -VAS 6617/12- into the drill.

gear oil (MTF) mix via the common breather
element.
The filling quantity of 3.5 liters of ATF must
not be exceeded.


Replenish 3.5 liters of ATF in the gearbox
using the manual pump.

Connect the vehicle diagnostic equipment to
the vehicle and start with operating mode I
Diagnosis ] .

the oil, the gear oil pump must be removed.

When you remove the oil pump, the gearbox is
suddenly emptied.
– Unscrew the screws -arrows-, remove the oil
pump -1- and secure it with wire so that it
does not fall.
– Let the gear oil (MTF) drain.

Attention!
Danger of damaging the gearbox.
If there is no gear oil (MTF) in the
transmission, or if there is insufficient:
♦ The engine must not be started.
♦ The vehicle should not be towed.

– Assemble the oil pump → Chapter .

should be used.
♦ The use of other oils causes failures in
the operation of the gearbox or its
breakdown.
♦ Take into account the assignment →
Electronic spare parts catalog
♦ The manual gear oil pump -VAS 6617-
must be clean. ATF should not be mixed
with other oils! If necessary, flush the
hand pump with gear oil (MTF).

– Unscrew the closing screw -arrow- for the


control and filling hole on the right side of the
gearbox housing with the T 60 Torx socket -
T40087-.
– Add gear oil (MTF) little by little with the
manual gear oil pump -VAS 6617-.
• Gear oil specification (MTF) → Electronic spare
parts catalogue .
– Repeat the process step by step every 15
seconds, until the gear oil is 2 mm below the
lower edge of the control and filling hole.

I 11 Notice
Respect the waiting time to ensure that the
different oil chambers of the gearbox are filled
evenly.
– Tighten the closing screw.
The other assembly operations are carried out in
the reverse order.
