WORKSHOP ON ACTION RESEARCH”

Rationale:

RA 9155 provides that the Department of Education is mandated to“undertake national


educational research and studies” which can become part of the basis for necessary reforms
and policy inputs to improve the delivery of quality basic education. In support to this,
DepEd has issued Department Order No. 13 s. 2015 which established a systematic policy
development process in the department. The said order explicitly promotes evidence-based
policy formulation that can be supported by research which can be initiated internally or by
qualified external research institutions. The intent of the said policy can be best achieved
when supported by a clear mechanism in conducting an educational research.In the desire
to support DepEd’s mandates and to provide assistance to prospective researchers, this
School will conduct a Seminar Workshop on Action Research on January 5, 2024.

Objectives:

This seminar workshop aims to:

1. develop the participants’ competency on conducting action research to identify learner-teacher


problems and propose for possible solutions;
2. ensure that all participants are familiar with the provisions of DepEdOrder No. 43, s. 2015 &
DepEd Order No. 4, s. 2016;
3. capacitate the participants on research, ethics and the use of research findings in policy
formulation; and,
4. design a mentoring and monitoring system in the planning and implementation of action research.

METHODOLOGY:

1. PARTICIPANTS
Twenty three teachers (23),One AO (1) and Four LSB teachers (4) and One School
Head (1) of Teaching and Faculty staff of Tandag Central Elementary School are the
participants of this LAC session.

2. VENUE AND SCHEDULE


The Conduct of SCHOOL TRAINING DESIGN ON THE CONDUCT OF THE SEMINAR
WORKSHOP ON ACTION RESEARCH – LAC session for Teaching and Faculty Staff of
TCES is scheduled on January 5, 2024 at The grade 5 room of Mrs. Mary Lucy C. Rosales.

3. RESOURCE PERSON
The School LAC secretary and the School Research Coordinator of this institution
Mrs. Rosemarie E. Lozada Special Education Teacher 1 is the session facilitators/resource
person of the said activity.

4. REQUIREMENT AND SOURCE OF FUNDS


No registration fee will be collected from the participants. However, all expenses that
incurred in the conduct of the seminar-workshop shall be charged to the schools IGP Canteen
subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

5. EXPECTED OUTPUTS
The participants of half-day LAC are expected to gain knowledge to be able to be
updated to the newest issues and concern on the Action Research Studies.

 At the end of the Orientation , the participants will be equip to the newest
Concerns and updates on the Action Research Studies and be able to present their
outputs in the future
- Individual Propose Action Research Studies
- Be able to write a comprehensive Action Research
