2025 NON SCHOOL LEAVER GENERAL INFORMATION & APPLICATION
FORM
Melanesia Nazarene Teachers College is a National Higher Education Learning Institution, and it offers fulltime Bachelor in
Education program in primary teaching.
The college offers degree program in Primary Teaching to School leavers and Non-School leavers. The school leavers are
current Grade 12 students enrolled in Secondary schools and National High Schools and will sit the Higher School Certificate
(Grade 12) National Examination. The non – school leavers are students who have completed Grade 12 in the past and were
not selected or Grade 12 who have upgraded their grades at the recognized FODE centers, or those who have completed
Grade 10 and have matriculated at the recognized FODE centers.
This general information and application form is for only Non-school leavers applicants who are wishing to pursue teacher
training with Melanesia Nazarene Teachers College. The application forms can be collected from the secretary at the front
desk. All sections of the application form must be completed before submitting.

2. Section B - Academic Information and references from the last school attended and your church pastor. All mentioned
documents must be certified. Any documentation not properly certified will not be processed.
3. Section C – Reasons for Applying
Closing date for application is specified on the application form. The pre-selected applicants will go through final selection at
the Department of Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology in December through online selection. All mentioned
documents must be submitted with the completed application form through hand delivery or posted mail. Email or faxed copies
will not be accepted.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) requires a minimum of ‘B’ average or better in English (Language and Literature),
Mathematics (Math A, Math B), Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology) and Social Science
subjects (History, Geography, Economics, Business Studies). There is an EXIT point after third year, and students would
graduate with a Diploma in Teaching (Primary) award and can continue with one year Bachelor of Education (Primary)
program.
Application Criteria.
i. Must attach copies of genuine certified official Grade 10 & 12 Certificates
ii. Must have scored a minimum of 2.8 GPA and above i.e. (“B” average or higher grades).
iii. Must have no fail grades on Grade 12 Certificate in any subject. (even though you meet the GPA requirements)
iv. Must attach an official certified FODE adult matriculation certificate if you have matriculated at a recognised FODE centre or must
attach certified official FODE upgrade transcript if you have upgraded at a recognised FODE centre.
v. Must have completed Grade 12 after 2018 that is from 2019 to 2022 only.
vi. Must attach a K100.00 Application Fee receipt. Refer to college Bank Account details
vii. Must attach 1 x ID size photo.
viii. Must attach a certified character reference from a pastor, signed and sealed with an official church stamp or letter head.
ix. Must attach a certified school character reference from your last secondary school, police clearance and a medical certificate.
