Dance Events

1. Indian Classical Dance - Solo


▪ The Indian classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance. Such as
Bharata Natyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Manipuri, Kathakali, etc.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 2.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 12 and a maximum for
15 minutes.
▪ The three copies of a brief note on the description of dance story involved in it, if
any, and of the accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English must be
submitted at the time of reporting.
▪ Judgment will be based on the qualities like Tal, Laya, Expression, Abhinaya,
Footwork, Costumes and General Impression.
▪ Performance can also be made using Music/Karaoke. The good/high quality
musical track for the same should be submitted to the event coordinator by each
team leader at the earliest.
▪ The participating candidate will be responsible for removal of his/her
sets/properties, etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

2. Filmy Dance - Solo


▪ The filmy dance can be of any form.
▪ No accompanist is permissible.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 3 and a maximum for 5
minutes.
▪ No form of liquid, gel, aerosol, glitter, powder or paint may be used that will
physically alter the surface of the Marley floor. If the stage is littered during a
performance, dancers are expected to clean the stage completely of all debris in
two minutes or less.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ Performance can also be made using Music/Karaoke. The good/high quality
musical track for the same should be submitted to the event coordinator by each
team leader at the earliest.
▪ The participating candidate will be responsible for removal of his/her
sets/properties, etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.

3. Indian Folk/Tribal Dance - Group
▪ The Indian Folk/Tribal dance can be either primitive or a folk dance of Indian style
only, but not a classical one.
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 7 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 10.
▪ The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a mixture of both.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 5.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 8 and a maximum for 10
minutes.
▪ Three copies of a brief note giving the theme and the text of song if any, is to be
submitted along with the entry form at the time of reporting.
▪ Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression,
Costumes, Make-up, Sets and Overall Effect/Impression.
▪ Performance can also be made using Music/Karaoke. The good/high quality
musical track for the same should be submitted to the event coordinator by each
team leader at the earliest.
▪ The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets/properties,
etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

4. Free Style/Contemporary/Bollywood Dance – Group


▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 5 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 10.
▪ The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a mixture of both.

▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 7 and a maximum for 10
minutes.

Music Events

1. Light Indian Vocal - Solo


▪ The language of the song shall only be Hindi or Gujarati.
▪ Only non-film Songs/Geet/Ghazal/Bhajan/Shabad and Abhang can be presented.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 2.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 4 and a maximum for 6
minutes.
▪ Judgment will be made on the qualities like Swara, Taal, Selection of Raga,
Composition and General Impression.
▪ Performance can also be made using Music/Karaoke. The good/high quality
musical track for the same should be submitted to the event coordinator by each
team leader at the earliest.
▪ The participating candidate will be responsible for removal of his/her
sets/properties, etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

2. Western Vocal - Solo


▪ The language of the song shall only be English.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 2.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 4 and a maximum for 6
minutes.
▪ Judgment will be made on the qualities like Composition Rhythm, Coordination
and General Impression.
▪ Performance can also be made using Music/Karaoke. The good/high quality
musical track for the same should be submitted to the event coordinator by each
team leader at the earliest.
▪ The participating candidate will be responsible for removal of his/her
sets/properties, etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

3. Bollywood/Filmy Vocal – Solo


▪ Only Bollywood filmy songs are allowed. Participant can also prepare MASHUP
song (Rap can be included, but not only rap).
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 2.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes

▪ Judging of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on
make-up, costumes.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious

team leader at the earliest.

4. Indian Songs – Group


▪ The group songs should be taken from Indian songs which can be in regional
language.

participants in a group permissible are 6.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible for playing instruments is 3.
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 4 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 8 and a maximum for 10
minutes.
▪ Judgment of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on
make-up, costumes and actions of the team.

Theatre Events

1. Mono-Acting – Solo
▪ Each participant will be allowed to act for a maximum of 5 minutes.
▪ Only one monologue is allowed during entire timing.
▪ Use of make-up, drapery and background music is not allowed. No personal
remarks, aspersions, character assassination etc. is allowed.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

2. Mimicry/Stand-up Comedy – Solo


▪ Each participant will be allowed to mimic for a maximum of 5 minutes.
▪ Participants may mimic the sound of machines and speeches of well-known
persons etc. including film personalities.
▪ Marking will be based on: Skill imitating, Variety of sound and voices imitated,
and Presentation.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

3. Mime – Group
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 0 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 6.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 2.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 4 and a maximum for 5
minutes.
▪ Judgment will most likely be based on the qualities like idea, creativity of
presentation, message given to the society, use of make-up, music and general
impression.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

4. Skit – Group
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 3 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 6.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 3.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 8 and a maximum for 10
minutes.
▪ Use of make-up, drapery and background music is allowed. No personal remarks,
aspersions, character assassination etc. is allowed.

▪ Participating team should submit three copies of the synopsis of the theme of
Skit, along-with language of presentation (Hindi or English) on the day of
registration.
▪ The item will be judged basically on the qualities like theme, work on acting,
stagecraft, design and general impression.
▪ Vulgarity or bitter insinuations in presentation should be avoided. Only innocent
satire or humor is expected.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

5. One-Act-Play/Drama – Group
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 3 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 9.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 3.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 25 and a maximum for
30 minutes.
▪ Time will be counted as soon as the signal is given or the team starts giving
introduction, whichever is earlier. Empty stage to empty stage shall be followed
strictly. For stage setting and removal of set and properties, up to 10 minutes
will be given after taking charge of the stage.
▪ The participating team shall bring their own set/ stage property, make up
material etc. Light and general property such as ordinary furniture may be
provided on advance information.
▪ The language of the play/drama shall only be Hindi or English or Gujarati. The
synopsis of the play in English or Hindi or Gujarati must be submitted to the In-
charge of the competition on the day of reporting.
▪ The participating team must report to the in-charge of the competition at least 1
hour before the presentation of the play.
▪ Judgment will most likely be based on the qualities of the play like theme, work
on acting, stagecraft, design and general impression etc.
▪ Accompanists will either speak from the background or will play upon musical
instruments for background music. They shall not appear on the stage.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding upon all.

6. Short Film Making


▪ In short movie making competitions a group of participants are required to make
an entertaining fictitious or reality based short movie on any genre i.e.
promotion and endorsement of organization/company/NGO/Educational
institute, comedy, suspense, drama, tragic, etc.

▪ It must be noted that all the technical requirements of the film such as Direction,
Cinematography, Camera Work, Screenplay, Background score, etc. must be
fulfilled by the participants only and no professional support should be sought.
In case any professional support is taken, it shall lead to immediate
disqualification of the event.
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 3 and maximum
participants in a group including all (i.e. actors, director, script/story writer, etc.)
permissible are 6.
▪ The duration of the film will be a minimum for 5 and a maximum for 7 minutes.
▪ The entry must be the original work of the participant(s).
▪ Limited use of copyrighted material will be permitted in the entry so long as it is
a lawful or "fair" use, and so long as such use does not overwhelm the
contribution of the participant(s).
▪ Participants need to submit the film to the event coordinator with the help of
HDD, CD or pen drive in mp4 format only on the day of the event.
▪ Once the movie is shortlisted, at least one of the members of the production team
must be physically present at the showcase before the judging panel.
▪ The Judging will be based on Story/Script, Direction, Cinematography, Creativity
and message, Technical quality and Overall impression.
▪ Any kind of vulgarity or bitter insinuations in the movie would result in
immediate disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

7. Script Writing - Solo


▪ All the participants should have an original composition on the prescribed
Subject/Topic/Theme.
▪ Medium of script can be in Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ The duration of the writing script will be a maximum of 2 hours.
▪ Subject/Topic/Theme of script will be announced to the team leaders before one
day of the competition.
▪ No substitutions, new drafts or revised pages will be accepted for script writing
entries under any circumstances.
▪ Once the script has been submitted to the competition, the University will not
accept new drafts or change of revised pages under any circumstances.
▪ The script should be of the participant's own writing and should not be a script
written by someone else or based on someone else's imagination. The
participants have to submit plagiarism reports also.

▪ Each script should have a main title page. Participant's name should be on the
submission form only and not on the script or on the main page. Every page
should be in sequence.
▪ The participant must mention the form of the script like whether the script is for
film, skit, bhavai, etc.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

Literary Events

1. Elocution - Solo
▪ Medium of expression can be in Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ Each participant will be allowed to speak for a maximum of 5 minutes.
▪ Subject/Topic of elocution will be announced to the team leaders before 2-3 days of
the competition.
▪ The performance will be judged in one language.
▪ The item shall be prose or poetry and not song.
▪ The sequence of speakers will be decided by a draw of lots.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

2. Extempore - Solo
▪ Medium of expression can be Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ Each participant will pick up the chit and have to speak on the topic for minimum
2 minutes and maximum 4 minutes written on the chit.
▪ Five minutes will be given to the candidate for preparation.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

3. Poem Recitation - Solo


▪ Medium of expression can be only Hindi or English or Gujarati; or combination of
them.
▪ Each participant will be allowed to speak for a maximum of 5 minutes.
▪ The poem which is original and not something that is translated from a modern
or foreign language poem or a lyric to a song will fetch more marks.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

4. Film Review - Solo


▪ Medium of expression can be Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ The participants have to present their reviews verbally in front of an audience
and judges.
▪ A movie will be screened for the participants. The participants are allowed to
write points/take notes while watching the movie.
▪ The time duration for preparation is 15 minutes after screening of the movie.
▪ Each participant will be allowed to present the review for a maximum of 5 minutes.

▪ Cell phones are not allowed during the event.
▪ The judging will be based on originality, clarity, structure of the content and
overall impression.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

5. Quiz - Group
▪ Each Institute can send a team of three persons.
▪ There will be a written preliminary round and teams will be elected for the final.
▪ Finals will be oral with audio-visual questions.
▪ The specific rules regarding evaluation procedure, time to reply a particular answer
and the type of round will be given before the actual start of the competition.

6. Debate - Group
▪ Medium of expression can be Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ Each Institute will be represented by the two debaters; one will speak FOR, while
another will speak AGAINST the motion.
▪ Subject/Topic of the debater will be announced to the team leaders before 2-3 days
of the competition.
▪ Each debater will be allowed to speak for minimum 4 minutes and maximum 5
minutes.
▪ Only team performance will be judged.
▪ Paper reading is not allowed.
▪ Cell phones are not allowed during the event.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

7. Ad Making – Group
▪ Medium of expression can be Hindi or English or Gujarati.
▪ Each Institute can send a team of five persons.
▪ From each team, one will pick up the chit to get their theme/product/service on
which the team has to prepare an advertisement.
▪ Product/Service/Theme would be assigned on the day of contest only. Team is
responsible for managing necessary resources. Just basic infrastructure
(Classroom, Chairs, and Tables) would be provided.
▪ Each team has to design (digital or handmade) posters of advertisement on a
given theme/product/service. If it’s a digital poster, then take a print for the
same.
▪ Prepare a video of the advertisement of 20-30 seconds covering Tagline, Jingle,
etc.

▪ Total 120 minutes will be given for the preparation for all of the above that is for
designing, printing and video.
▪ Each team will be allowed to present the advertisement for a maximum 2
minutes excluding video.
▪ No vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism will be allowed and can lead to disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

Fine Arts Events

1. Poster Making
▪ Items will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to make
posters on the subject/topic/theme given by the In-charge of the competition.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own material.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ Poster can be prepared in pencil, crayon, oil, water, poster or pastel colours.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

2. On the Spot Painting


▪ Items will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to make
paintings on the subject/topic given by the In-charge of the competition.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own material like brushes, paints etc.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ Painting can be done in oil, water, poster or pastel colours.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

3. Brushless Painting
▪ Items will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to make
paintings on the subject/topic given by the In-charge of the competition.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own colours.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ Painting can be done in oil, water, poster or pastel colours.
▪ No brush is allowed to be used.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

4. Cartooning
▪ Item will be conducted on the spot on the given subject/idea.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own material.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

5. Collage
▪ Items will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to make
collages on the subject/topic given by the In-charge of the competition.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Collage has to be prepared from old magazines, which will be provided by the
organizers
▪ Participants shall bring their own materials like scissors, pasting and other
materials required for the contest.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

6. Clay Modelling
▪ Items will be conducted on the spot.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Subject/Topic size and other specific rules shall be announced on the spot.
▪ Clay will be provided by the organizers.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

7. Rangoli
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own material. This art is known differently in
various regions such as Mandana, Alpana, Alekhan, Kolam, Rangoli, etc. For this
the medium and form for expression can be free hand, pictorial and descriptive.
▪ Only one medium shall be used — Poster Colors or Flower Petals or Saw-dust or
Pulses or Rice without pasting.
▪ The participants shall have to prepare a rangoli within the space of 4"×4"
provided by the organizers.
▪ It is strictly not allowed to take supportive help like cell phones or any other
materials.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

8. Mehndi
▪ The due credit will be given on originality, creativity, decorative art with
aesthetic sense.
▪ Use of hand print, any kind of mould and any kind of decorative material is not
allowed.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 1.
▪ The total duration for completing the painting shall not be more than 2 hours 30
minutes.

▪ The participant has to bring its own Mehndi and other materials required for it.
▪ The Mehndi must be extended to the palmar side forearm with minimum 6”
length.
▪ The participant has to draw the Mehndi on the palmar side of both hands of the
model. The model should be the participant of the same institute.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

9. Installation
▪ Install or create an atmosphere related with the subject or title of the
installation.
▪ Subject/Topic/Theme of installation will be on the spot.
▪ The size of the installation should be 5'×5'×5’ maximum.
▪ This is a group activity as 4 participants can participate, but they will create only
one installation based on the above given size.
▪ The total duration for completing the installation shall not be more than 2 hours
30 minutes.
▪ Participants can use all the material which they use in other art compositions
like cartooning, painting, rangoli, posters, collage and clay modeling.
▪ Participants can use waste material also which is available in the surroundings
or can take any material from outside also.
▪ Participants are not allowed to use any already composed images or forms
available in the market. They should compose or create their own image with the
raw material.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

10. Spot Photography


▪ The participant has to bring his/her own digital camera.
▪ The digital camera should have a memory card which will be formatted by the
judges before the commencement of the contest.
▪ The time limit will be 2.30 hours.
▪ The participant has to capture 5 photographs on the theme announced on the
spot by the judges.
▪ No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs will be permitted.
▪ Software such as Photoshop etc. for enhancing images shall not be permitted.
▪ The organizers will have all rights for the use of these pictures as and when they
deem fit.
▪ Digital images are evaluated on the basis of (I) IMPACT/INFLUENCE, (II)
COMPOSITION, (III) TECHNICAL QUALITY, and (IV) SUITABILITY for the specific
theme.

11. Documentary Film


▪ In the documentary film participants are required to make a non-entertainment
non-fictitious documentary with an objective to depict some theme or a story or
an inspiration.
▪ It must be noted that all the technical requirements of the film such as Direction,
Cinematography, Camera Work, Screenplay, Background score, etc. must be
fulfilled by the participants only. No professional support should be sought. In
case any professional support is taken, it shall lead to immediate disqualification
of the event.
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 2 and maximum
participants in a group including all (i.e. director, camera man, editor, etc.)
permissible are 5.
▪ The duration of the film will be a minimum for 5 and a maximum for 10 minutes.
▪ The entry must be the original work of the participant(s). Participants will be
responsible for use of copyrighted material.
▪ Participants need to submit the film to the event coordinator with the help of
HDD, CD or pen drive in mp4 format only on the day of the event.
▪ While the documentary is played, at least one of the members of the production
team must be physically present at the showcase to answer the questions of the
judging panel.
▪ The Judging will be based on Content (in the context of research), Technical
quality(usage of media and editing), Creativity and message, and Overall
impression.
▪ Any vulgarity, obscene language, profanity, personal attacks or religious
extremism in the film would result in immediate disqualification.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

Diverse Events

1. Fashion Show
▪ It is a theme-based event where every team has to represent an original, unique
and innovative theme which must include fashion with creativity.
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 12 and maximum
participants in a group permissible are 16.
▪ The number of accompanists permissible is 3 (for music and light if required).
▪ Time for Stage/Instruments setting is maximum 5 minutes.
▪ The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 8 and a maximum for 15
minutes.
▪ T-shaped extension will be provided on the main stage.
▪ The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets/properties,
etc. immediately after the completion of their performance.
▪ The good/high quality musical track for the same should be submitted to the
event coordinator by each team leader before 2 days of the competition (the
track should be named according to the institute code, please instruct the
participants also to carry their sound tracks in a pen drive at the venue in case of
technical discrepancies).
▪ Competitions will emphasize on: Originality, Confidence & Personality of the
entrants, Creativity of garments and accessories, Theme justification, Walking
Style, Make Up (facial & body expressions of the entrants), Choreography, and
Stage Utilization.
▪ No props and costumes will be provided by the organizers. The teams have to
bring their own costumes and props.
▪ Use of materials like candles, fire, cigarettes, alcohol and any hazardous
materials on stage is strictly prohibited (spot disqualification).
▪ Vulgarity of any kind would lead to disqualification of the team from the event.
▪ The dresses are to be pre-approved by Team Leaders.
▪ Judgment will be strictly based on competition emphasizing criteria and Overall
Effect/Impression.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

❖ Imperative opinions to pay attention on:


1. Originality & Confidence:
⁃ The entrant’s personality and willingness to think outside the square
should be obvious in their outfit.

⁃ They should look confident and happy in their outfit and wear something
that makes them stand out in a positive manner (30 % weightage in total
marks).

2. Attention in detail with outfit and accessories:


⁃ Entrant’s (participant’s) accessories and creativity utilized in making
garment (50 % weightage in total marks).

3. Grooming & deportment:


⁃ Entrants will be judged according to not only by their outfit, but also the
way they carry themselves on the stage.
⁃ Hair, makeup and behaviour on stage will also be considered by the
judges (20 % weightage in total marks).

2. UTh ICON
▪ It is a solo event, but will be having group activities.
▪ This competition may be for all days of Uth Fest and cumulative.
▪ Each participant has to go through 4-5 rounds as mentioned below:
Round 1: Self Introduction
⁃ The duration of the introduction will be a minimum for 2 and a
maximum for 5 minutes.
Round 2: Talent
⁃ Participant has to give performance for minimum 2 minutes and
maximum 3 minutes on any of one category like dance, music, theatre,
literary, etc.
Round 3: Thoughts/Views on … (On spot topic will be given)
⁃ The duration of the introduction will be a minimum for 1 and a
maximum for 3 minutes.
Round 4: Question and answer
▪ There may be any on spot round also as decided by judges if any.
▪ Participants should not reveal their department/institute in any round.
▪ Talent rounds should be well prescribed in front of judges to showcase the
talent.
▪ No time will be provided for costume changing during any round.
▪ Participants must bring a hard copy of their portfolio (consisting of certificates
and achievements of all curricular and extracurricular activities). This is one of
the evaluation parameters.
▪ The winners of the event will receive the title of Rising Star of UTU, Multi-Talent
of UTU and Face of UTU.

▪ The winners and runners up of this competition are expected to contribute in
various university events whenever required.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

3. Photo Story
▪ Photo Story must present a series of minimum 6 and maximum 10 images only,
without any text.
▪ Only the title and the sequence of number photos must be there to communicate.
▪ Only a single story should be presented.
▪ A single frame should have only one image. Special effects (i.e. any form of image
editing) are NOT allowed.
▪ The importance will be given to the storytelling impact of the series of images.
▪ The participant has to bring his/her own digital camera/cell phone to capture
the photos.
▪ The time limit will be 2.30 hours.
▪ The participant can capture any number of photographs on the theme
announced on the spot by the judges.
▪ Software such as Photoshop etc. for enhancing images shall not be permitted.
▪ The organizers will have all rights for the use of these pictures as and when they
deem fit.
▪ Participants shall bring their own decorative material.
▪ Only the drawing paper/sheet of 22” × 15” will be provided by the organizers.
▪ The maximum size of the photos used in the story must not be more than 4
inches × 6 inches.
▪ Pencil, crayon, oil, water, poster or pastel colours can be used for decorating
sheet.
▪ Photo story will be evaluated based on the story it conveys, quality (image
quality + content it delivers) of photographs, sheet decoration, title and overall
impression.
▪ The additional instructions will be announced on the spot.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

4. Show Reels
▪ The reel must be an original creation. You can only be inspired by existing trends
online.
▪ Plagiarized content leads to disqualification.
▪ Any offensive, name-calling, derogatory remarks, and/or regional slang towards
any person or community should not be used.
▪ Only a single reel should be presented.

▪ Subject/Topic/Theme for reel will be given onset.
▪ The minimum participants in a group permissible are 2 and maximum
participants in a group including all (i.e. actors, director, script writer, etc.)
permissible are 3.
▪ The duration of the reel’s video will be a minimum for 30 and a maximum for 60
seconds.
▪ As per reel format, the video must be made vertically and not horizontally of the
size 1080 pixels × 1920 pixels.
▪ Participants need to submit the reel’s video to the event coordinator with the
help of a pen drive in .mp4 format only on the day of the event.
▪ The time limit will be 2.30 hours.
▪ Any form of video editing for enhancing videos shall be permitted.
▪ Reels will be evaluated based on how engaging it is music, content and clarity of
video and overall impression.
▪ The organizers will have all rights for the use of these reels as and when they
deem fit.
▪ The additional instructions will be announced on the spot.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

5. Digital Canvas
▪ Digital Canvas will be conducted on the spot and the participants will be requested to
make digital poster on the subject/topic given by the In-charge of the competition.
▪ Duration will not be more than 2 hours 30 minutes.
▪ Participants shall bring their own laptop or tablet or mobile phone.
▪ The size of the digital poster must be A4 portrait (210mm width and 297mm hight)
only.
▪ The decision taken by judges will be the final and binding on all participants.

6. UTU Shark Tank


▪ The minimum members in a team permissible are 3 and maximum members in a
team permissible are 5.
▪ The sectors can be from the following, but not limited to:
✓ Education
✓ Agriculture
✓ Transport
✓ Automobile
✓ Bio-Technology
✓ Health and Pharmaceuticals
✓ Social Media Consulting

▪ All teams need to bring a PowerPoint presentation to explain their idea in a pen
drive or in a laptop at a given time and venue. It is advised to keep a back-up
copy of all documents related to Start-up ideas.
▪ You must be ready to perform even without PowerPoint slides under power
failure or any other situations.
▪ Each team will be allowed to present the idea for a maximum of 10 minutes and
5 minutes for questions answers sessions by judges.
