CERTIFICATE
This is to certify that the project work entitled “Effects of Water Pollution on
Environment” carried out by Paras Chavan, Chetan Ghadashi, Omkar Chavan, Varun
Chalke Students of Fifth Semester of Diploma in Computer Engineering of Rajendra Mane
Polytechnic, Ambav (Code: 1507) have submitted the micro-project and defended the viva-
voice of the term work micro-project entitled ‘Effects of Water Pollution on Environment’
satisfactorily in the subject EST(22447) for the Academic Year 2023-2024 as prescribed in
the curriculum.
Proposal
1. Brief Introduction.
Water Pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of
human activities, so that it negatively affects its uses. It occurs harmful
substances often chemicals or micro-organisms contaminate a stream, river,
lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water. Degrading water quality and
rendering it toxic to humans or the environment. Water pollution result when
contaminants are introduced into these water bodies.

8 Preparing aim of project
It is sometimes caused by nature, such as when mercury filters from the Earth's
crust, polluting oceans, rivers, lakes, canals and reservoirs. However, the most
common cause of poor-quality water is human activity.
Global warming
Rising Global temperatures caused by CO? emissions heat the water,
reducing its oxygen content.
Deforestation
It can exhaust water resources and generate organic residue which becomes a
breeding ground for harmful bacteria.
Maritime traffic
Much of the plastic pollution in the ocean comes from fishing boats, tankers and
cargo shipping.
Fuel spillages
The transportation and storage of oil and its derivatives is subject to
leakage that pollutes our water resources.
EFFECTS
• Disease. The WHO estimates that about 2 billion people have no option
but to drink water contaminated by excrement, exposing them to diseases
such as cholera. hepatitis A and dysentery.
• Infant mortality. According to the UN, diarrhoeal diseases linked to lack
of hygiene C7iLiSe the death of about 1,000 children day worldwide
Half of the world 's inhabitants will live in water-scarce areas by 2025, so every
drop of polluted water today is an irreparable loss for tomorrow. That's why we
must prevent water pollution with measures like the following:
6.0 CONCLUSION
Hence from this project we have learn how to control the water pollution
and what is the effect from water pollution on our environment. Water pollution
destroys important food sources and contaminates drinking water with
chemicals that can cause immediate and long-term harm to human health. Water
pollution also often several damages aquatic ecosystems.
