Wow! There’s no absence? Very good keep it

up, class.

Okay let’s start our discussion. Let’s have a

pre-activity to have an idea what our topic is
all about.

5. The weather in the Philippines is
influenced by the monsoon winds.

Wow! Good job class. It seems you already

know and are ready for our lesson today.
Let’s get to our discussion.

In most part of the world there are 4 season:

But before we talk about the two seasons

here in the Philippines, let’s define what a
season is.

What is a season?
A season is a subdivision of the year, marked
by the weather, ecology, and hours of
daylight.

Because the earth is tilted as it orbits the sun,

causing different parts of the world to receive
varying amounts of sunlight throughout the
year. This creates the four main seasons:
spring, summer, autumn (fall), and winter. In
some tropical places, such as the Philippines,
there are only two main seasons: the wet
season and the dry season.

Now, class, I have a question. “Why do you

think the Philippines have only 2 seasons?”

● Ma’am because we are near the

equator.

Great! Because the Philippines are located

near the equator. Being close to the equator
means that the Philippines receives almost
the same amount of sunlight throughout the
year, resulting in consistent temperatures.
That is why the Philippines have only 2
seasons: the dry season and the wet season.
● Instructional Material
I have an instructional material called the
"Season Loop." It is a circle divided into
two sections: the Dry Season and the Wet
Season. I have 12 months listed, and I
would like you to indicate whether each
month falls into the Dry or Wet Season.

Wow! Very good, class. It seems you know

when the dry and wet seasons start.

Okay class, let’s talk about wet season

Wet season, also known as the rainy season,

is a period when there is a lot of rain and
humidity in the air. During this time, heavy
rainfall occurs regularly, sometimes leading
to floods and landslides.

Wet season start June to November

Generally, daytime temperature range from

30 to 36 degrees celsius

Which bring heavy rains and typhoon

Now, let’s proceed with what we can do
during the wet season. But before that, I have
a question for your class: What do you do
when it is raining outside?

● I like to sleep, teacher.

● I like to watch TV while lying on the
couch.
● I like to play games when It's raining
outside.

Very good class! You can do that while it’s

raining outside, like watching TV, sleeping,
playing games on your gadget, playing an
instrument, talking with your friend over
friends, playing with your sister, bonding with
your family, and some of you guys are
showering in the rain. But class, did you
know that the wet season is important for
farmers because, for them, it is for planting
time.

Since you already know what the wet season

is and the different activities you can do
during the wet season, let us proceed now in
the dry season.

Dry season is characterized by hot and

cloudless days. The dry season is a period of
the year when there is little to no rainfall and
the weather is generally sunny and dry.
During this time, temperatures can be higher
than usual, making it feel hot and humid.
The dry season starts every December to
May. The climate is generally dry with
occasional rain showers. But during January
to February, the air is cold and dry.

The peak of the dry season is April with fewer

rain showers.

Now class, let’s talk about the activities you

can do during the dry season. In the wet
season, you’re just staying in your house,
while in the dry season you can go outside.

Who goes to the beach every summer?

Raise your hand
● (All of students raised their hand)

That is just the few things you can do every

dry season. You can also travel to historical
and beautiful places

And do some recreational activities like

hiking, swimming, and mountain climbing.
Do house cleaning, washing and drying
clothes.

Do gardening and yard improvement.

Farmers harvest and dry their crops.

And this is the time for community activities
like team building, fiesta, outdoor games
tournament, and community cleaning, parade
and contest.
The dry season is also an opportunity for the
government to construct roads, drainage,
fences and pavements.

Since you already know what the dry season

and wet season are. Let’s have an activity

B.LESSON PROPER

LEARNING TASK 2 - ACTIVITY

Today, we’re going to have fun and at the

same time, we’ll learn because today we will
have an activity

I have pictures here, and you will identify if

the picture shows a dry or wet season.

● Yes, Teacher

Okay, Now let’s proceed to our activity.

Now, who wants to volunteer?

● (One student raised hand)
Go ahead, rose.

● It is the wet season.

Good job! Rose, it is the wet season.

Next?

● Ma’am it is the dry season.

Amazing! Anne, for the last one?

● Ma’am it is the dry season

Fantastic! Jerome, thank you for your

cooperation, students. I’m so proud of all of
you.

Now that you have mastered the dry season,

I want to know your insights about the
pictures, get your notebook and pen, then
answer these questions:
1. What did you notice in the picture?

● It is dry season teacher

2. Did you experience any of them?

● Yes teacher
3. What is your favorite season and
why?
● Dry season Ma’am, because during
the dry season, we get together at the
beach with family and relatives.

For our next activity I want you to draw your

experiences during the wet season or rainy
season, for example you bathed in the rain,
or you washed your clothes while it’s raining,
etc. Be creative and mindful. Any materials
will do, you can choose either coloring pencil,
colored pentel pen, etc, as long as it shows
the concept of wet season.

I’ll give you 15 minutes to do your activity and

after that you will explain and present your
artwork in front of the class. Are you ready to
express your artistic talents?

● Yes, teacher
Okay! Very good, Let’s start

Are you all done?

● Yes, teacher

Wow, well done! All of your drawings are

amazing and during your experience in the
wet season and dry season.
LEARNING TASK - ANALYSIS

1.What are the main differences between the

dry season and the wet season in the
Philippines?
● Teacher, the dry season is when it's
usually sunny and not much rain falls.
It's hotter during this time, and people
often wear light clothes.

a lot. The weather is cooler, and
people might need umbrellas or
raincoats to stay dry.

2.What are some activities that people in the

Philippines typically do during the dry
season? How are these activities different
from those during the wet season?

● Ma’am during the dry season in the

Philippines, people often go to the
beach, have picnics, and play outdoor
sports like basketball or soccer. They
might also do gardening or farming
because there's not much rain.
That’s right! How about the wet season?

tend to stay indoors more because it
rains a lot. They might spend time
reading, watching movies, or playing
board games with their families.

3.Why is it important for people in the

Philippines to understand the differences
between the dry season and the wet season?

understand the differences between
the dry season and the wet season
because it helps them get ready for
the weather. When they know what to
expect, they can prepare for hot, dry
days or rainy, wet days.

LEARNING TASK 5 - ABSTRACTION

here in the Philippines, how many seasons
do we have?
● We have two seasons here in the
Philippines ma’am.

the beauty and diversity of Philippine
seasons?

appreciation by doing things or
activities we love.

important because it’s time for them to
plant.

time to explore and enjoy recreational
activities.
