HYDERABAD CRICKET ASSOCIATION

ONE DAY UNDER 16 SCHOOLS KNOCKOUT PLAYING CONDITIONS

1. All the matches will be played under current BCCI playing conditions except as varied
hereunder.

2. All matches shall be of one days duration of 50 overs per side. Minimum 20 overs per
side will constitute a match.

3. Hours of Play:
09:00 am to 12:30 pm First Session
12:30 pm to 01:30 pm Lunch
01:30 pm to 05:00 pm Second Session

Teams and umpires should be present at the respective grounds at least 45


minutes before the schedule start of the match for the smooth conduct of the
matches.

Each team should nominate its playing XI prior to the toss.

4. Un-interrupted Matches:
The side bowling first should complete 50 overs in 210 minutes. (Three hours and
thirty minutes) In case the overs are not completed, play will cease at schedule lunch
time. The team batting second shall face same number of overs.
Penalty shall apply for slow over rate.
No penalty will apply for second innings if a result is achieved.
If the team batting first is all out within the scheduled or rescheduled closing
time, the team batting second will get the full quota overs as allocated for the
innings.

5. Interrupted Matches:
i) In case of a delayed start due to weather, ground and light conditions or
suspension of play during the innings of the team batting first the number of
overs per team will be re-arranged in total time available for play (i.e 4.20
minutes per over) in such case a fixed time for completion of the revised
number of overs shall be fixed and the innings shall be terminated at the re-
fixed time.
ii) In case team bowling first fails to bowl the revised number of overs within the
stipulated time, they will bat for the same number of overs bowled by them.
iii) A minimum of 20 overs per side shall constitute a match.
iv) In this case the lunch time will be re-arranged and will be at the completion of
the first session.
v) To constitute a match, a minimum of 20 overs have to be bowled to the
team batting second subject to a result not being achieved earlier.
vi) Play shall continue beyond the scheduled closing time till a result is
achieved provided ground, weather or light conditions permit.

vii) Umpires will be sole judges of Ground, weather and light conditions. (teams
and support staff are not supposed to interfere in umpires’ decision)

viii) No one is allowed to coach the players from outside the boundary area. (if
required occasionally and in tense situation a message can be sent with a
substitute at the end of an over or at the fall of a wicket)
ix) Only Captain and Team Head Coach can inspect the pitch.
No spiked footwear shall be permitted.

6. Penalty for slow over rate:

i) Penalty clause will apply for slow over rate which will be calculated at the end
of an innings.
ii) Penalty will be double the run rate scored by the team batting multiplied by
number of over bowled short.
iii) Fractions are to be ignored at the end of the calculations.
iv) Penalty will not be applicable if the side is all out within the allocated overs.
v) While calculating penalty the following deductions should be made regarding
time lost during play due to the following
a. Actual time lost due to any circumstances beyond the control of the
fielding side.

7. Interval for Drinks:


i) Two drinks break per session will be permitted. The drinks break should be
kept as short as possible and, in any case, shall not exceed 4 minutes.
ii) An individual player may be given a drink either on the boundary edge or at
the fall of wicket on the field provided no playing time is wasted.
iii) No other drinks shall be taken on the field without the permission of the
Umpires.

8. Interval for Lunch:


i) If the innings of the team batting first ends within 30 minutes of the scheduled
lunch interval, interval shall be taken immediately and shall of the agreed
length.
ii) If the innings of the team batting first is completed more than 30
minutes prior to the scheduled interval a 10 minute break will occur and
the team batting second will commence its innings and the interval will
occur as scheduled.
iii) In addition, should the innings of the team batting first have been
completed prior to the scheduled, or re-scheduled time for the
commencement of the interval, then any calculation relating to the
revision of overs shall not be effective until an amount of time
equivalent to that by which the second innings started early has
elapsed.
iv) If at the time of the scheduled interval, the team batting second has lost
nine wickets or requires no more than 25 runs to win, play shall
continue until a result has been achieved, unless the players otherwise
have cause to leave the field of play.
9. No-Ball:
i) Two bouncer per over is allowed. Subsequent bouncer (3rd in an over) shall
be called no-ball the umpires shall follow the procedure of caution, warning
and removal as per BCCI playing conditions.
ii) There shall not be more than 5 fielders on the onside throughout the match, in
case of infringement the umpire at the strikers’ end shall call and signal No
ball.
iii) A ball which is considered to have been delivered, bounces more than once
before reaching the popping crease shall be called No ball by the umpire at
the bowler’s end.

iv) Wide Ball:


i) As a guideline to the umpires for the calling of Wides on the
offside, the crease markings shall be marked in white at each end
of the pitch.

ii) A ball which passes after pitching above the batman’s head to an
extent that it prevents the batsman from being able to hit it with his bat
by means of normal cricket stroke, the umpire shall call the delivery
wide and it shall also be considered as one bouncer for the over.

v) Declaration: A Side is not permitted to declare its innings closed.

vi) Number of overs per bowler


i) No bowler shall bowl more than 10 overs in an innings.
ii) In a delayed or interrupted match where the overs are reduced
for both teams or for the team bowling second, no bowler may
bowl more than one-fifth of the total overs allowed.
iii) Where the total overs is not divisible by 5, one additional over
shall be allowed to the maximum number per bowler necessary
to make up the balance.
vii) Result:
i) If the innings of the side batting second gets less number of overs as allocated
to the team batting first, then the result of the match will be decided by
applying the norm method.
ii) The result of a match shall be a Tie when both innings have been completed
and the scores are equal.
iii) If the scores are equal, the result shall be a tie and no account shall be taken of
the number of wickets that have fallen.

iv) In case of tie or no result the result of the match shall be decided by spin of
coin in presence of the umpires.
v) In case a minimum of 20 overs is not possible either for both the innings or
second innings due to ground, weather and light conditions, in such cases the
result of the match shall be decided by spin of coin in presence of the umpires.
vi) The name of the team which is written first in the draws will be treated as
home team for the perpose of toss.

Umpires: No protest will be entertained against umpiring decisions. Umpire decision


is final.

Responsibility of Captains: The captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that
play is conducted within the spirit of the game as well as within the laws. The Spirit of the
game involves respect to:

 Your Opponents.
 Your own captain and team.
 The role of the umpires.
