and leaders in the practice and special fields such as research, public service, and
community engagements through awards.
PAMET
The Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc. is the national
professional organization of Registered Medical Technologists in the Philippines.
The organization was founded on September 15, 1963 through the initiative of Crisanto G.
Almario, who is considered as the “Father of PAMET,” at the Public Health Laboratory in
Quiricada St., Sta Cruz, Manila. The first national convention and election of officers were
organized on September 20, 1964 at the FEU. Charlemagne T. Tamondong became the
first president. It was during the presidency of Nardito D. Moraleta that PAMET was
incorporated and registered at the SEC on October 14, 1969 with Registration no. 39570.
PAMET was formally recognized as the only accredited professional organization
of Registered Medical Technologists in the Philippines when Presidential Decree no. 223
was approved on June 22, 1973. It is a national body w/ 46 provincial chapters nationwide
and four international chapters:

The First Organizational Meeting
The first organizational meeting of PAMET was held on September 15, 1963 at the
Public Health Laboratory in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

PASMETH
The Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health, Inc.
is the national organization of recognized schools of medical technology and public
health in the Philippines. It was established in 1970 with the hope of maintaining the
highest standards of medical technology education.
On May 13, 1970 Dr. Serafin Juliano and Dr. Gustavo Reyes were designated by Dr.
Narciso Albarracin to organize an association of deans/heads of schools of medical
technology and public health. The first organizational meeting was held at the University
of Santo Tomas on June 22, 1970. The first member schools of PASMETH were UST, FEU,
CEU, San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. (SJDEFI), PWU, and Martinez
Memorial Colleges (MMC).
The organization was formally registered at SEC on October 6, 1985 through the
Committee on Legislation chaired by Mr. Cirilo S. Cajucom. PASMETH is also the founding
organization of the ASEAN Association of Schools of Medical Technology (AASMT)
through the initiatives of Dean Bernard Ebuen, Dr. Jose Jurel Nuevo, and Dr. Anacleta
Valdez.
Circle – represents the continuity of learning and the never ending quest for excellence in
the academic field.
Diamond – the four corners represent the four objectives of the Association:
