[…] The good news about the climate crisis, however, is that individuals, groups and organizations
are capable of bringing about real change as far as these issues are concerned. Various environmentalist activists
have urged world leaders and policy makers to consider the growing impact of climate change as they plan how
their countries are run. They have been encouraging a bunch of practical solutions such as taxing greenhouse gas
emissions, boosting renewable energies, enhancing smart farming, using eco-friendly products, recycling waste,
and raising awareness about the climate crisis in schools and community settings. Also, they have expressed their
personal preference of eco-friendly habits such as planting more trees, conserving water at home, following a
plant-based diet, substituting cars with walking and eating locally grown vegetables, together comprising a
complete eco-friendly lifestyle.
Inspiring environmentalist leaders come from different countries, social backgrounds and
generations. These include people like the English primatologist Jane Goodall, known for her work protecting
chimpanzees, the 17-year-old Swedish Greta Thunberg, celebrated for her courageous, blunt and candid speech
at the UN climate conference, and countless young leaders across the globe, who can be looked up to as role
models. One important remark, however, is that women tend to be show more interest in climate activism than
men because they enjoy greater empathy, altruism and personal responsibility, studies show.
