2. What does she do with her umbrella?

What is It

Think!

The present tense of the verb is used to express an action that happens
regularly or habitually.
Time expressions like every day, every week, once a month, and yearly show
present tense.
Singular subjects and pronouns he, she, or it use the present singular form of
verb. To form the singular form of verb, we add –s or –es to it.
Plural subjects take the base form of the verb when expressing present tense.

2
Read and study the sentences below.

1. Ana walks to school every day.

Subject Verb

In sentence number 1, Ana is a singular subject which uses the singular

present tense form of the verb walks. Remember, to form the singular form of
verb, we add –s or –es to it.

2. Ana and her friends walk to school every day.

Subject Verb

Here in sentence number 2, Ana and her friends is a plural subject which
must only use the base form of verb. We don’t add –s or –es to the verb anymore.

Examples:

1. Joan holds the umbrella.

2. The dogs bark every night.
