Reference list:
Reference list - credible academic sources from books, academic journals, reports, which will
earn you better grades, not Wikipedia and the like!
For a Book (5 Key information):
Author(s), Year, Title, Place of publication, Publisher, chapter and page number - if making
direct quote.
If you have all the above information from an online book, that means it’s also available
through hardcopy, you don’t have to state online as all you need for a physical copy is
available. This increases your credibility!
Example:
Little, S.E. (1988) Organisational Change, New York, Ellis Harwood, (Ch., p./pp…)
Otherwise bring in online in bracket just after the name/title of the Book and any link that
will take you to the source.
Give the author/publisher name, year/date, name of the journal, issue number, volume
number and page number(s).
Example:
Kaye, G.R. (1993) ‘Developing an information Technology Strategy’, International Journal
of Information Management, Issue No.2, Page number of articles represented by p. 34, more
than a page pp34 - 35
Online Journal
Author’s surname, INITIALS., Year. Title. Journal Title. [Online], Volume number and Issue
No./Vol. No., P2
For example:
Banyard, P., 2007. ‘Tyranny and the tyrant from Stanford to Abu Ghraib.’ The Psychologist.
[Online], 20(8) 494-495
