1. Introduction
This assignment is based on file fact on Nike, one of the most famous and revered brands
around the world. Nike has always been known to be a company, especially on the area of
innovation and the way it is becoming innovative to become the leader in sportswear and
athletic gear industry. In 1964, the company became Nike officially in 1971, and they have
taken a divergent line on the way people think about sports and fitness. Nobody has ever been
able to bring together Nike’s cutting edge marketing, iconic slogan 'Just Do It,' and
groundbreaking products to such a potent level as the company has. Putting together this
powerful mix of sport performance innovation has impacted millions of people around the
world.
I am captivated to Nike because it is the only company that successfully juggles business
success and empowering individuals. Many want to become a dream employer for their
people like Nike does with the approach of supporting the employee through career
development and creativity while promoting diversity. It is further confirmed as a forward
looking organisation with its dedication to sustainability and community initiatives.
This fact file attempts to examine Nike’s tale, from how it has come to be a global force that
continues to motivate athletes and employees alike. At the end I will try to understand why
Nike is what it is and what made it such an aspirational company, and what can Nike be for
future career goals.

Blue Ribbon Sports, founded in 1964, was renamed in 1971 to Nike, Inc., a world leader in
the design, development, and marketing of sports equipment, apparel, and services (Yao and
Chen, 2018). Nike, headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, USA, is a sports innovation and
cutting edge technology company. It is one of the world’s largest and most recognised brands
in the athletic and lifestyle industries.
Today Nike employs more than 83,000 people in more than 150 countries, with stores,
distribution centres, offices and other facilities in North America, Europe, Asia, and around
the world. As one of the largest retailers of fitness products worldwide, Nike’s products are
available in thousands of retail stores and its various online platforms that serve various
customers in the growing customer base.
The brand behind the company’s success is its iconic branding, creative product design and
its collaborations with renowned athletes and sports teams. Since Nike was founded, it is
always broken the sports culture mold by releasing firsts such as Air Jordan sneakers and
Nike Flyknit technology. Nike is also known for its stance to promote diversity, sustainability
and community impact (Waymer and Logan, 2021). Its continuous endeavours to push sports
and active lifestyle, as well as its assertiveness in innovation, it is now a world’s sports leader
in the athletic industry.
