hooks:
Tuning in: -Learners will have a question posed to provoke their communication skills
(10 mins): Have you ever felt a spark when holding an object, shaking hands with a person or while
sliding? (causation)

-Learners will start presenting some situation relating the situation with their unit of
inquiry.

-The teacher will start drawing an atom containing nutrons, positively charged protons and
negatively charged electrons. (form)

-Friction allows the atom to lose electrons so the mobile electrons in another body will take
the chance to where there most needed jumping on the positively charged body causing this
spark, this is know as static electricity.
Learners will watch a video to ensure their understanding about static electricity an how is it
conducted.
Finding out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc2-363MIQs
(15 mins): Teacher will pose a question asking, is this kind of electricity is the one working your
appliances like ( T.V, dryer, fans…etc) ? (function)

Learners possible answer is that appliances needs wires to work and they need to be
plugged in.
Teacher will start talking about current electricity while comparing it to the static electricity.
Current electricity is a flow of electrons that must flow through a conductor and its
measured by ampare, unlike the static its is caused by friction.
The material that doesn’t conduct elecricity is called insulator.

Teacher will pose a question testing their thinking skills

What is the difference between a conductor and insulator
A conductor is a material that allows electrons to flow freely through it, making it useful for
carrying electric current
Sorting out: An insulator is a material that resists the flow of electrons, so it does not allow electric
(15 mins) current to pass through it.

Learners will be asked from your own prespective is the electricity operating the toarch the
same as the electricity operating the television.

Learners will conduct that there are two types of current electricity which are direct current
that works with a low voltage such as air crafts and batteries, as for the alternating current
like the plugs in the wall and works industrial appliances.
DC: is a flow of energy
AC: can turn on and off
Learners will watch a video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXW42TRIq1Y
Teacher will start recapping on magnetism to start relating it to electromagnatic electricity
Teacher will start posing a question working on learner’s thinking skills
Going further:
Do you remember what magnetism is is a property that some objects have it causes them to
(10 mins)
attract metalic elements like iron and have two magnatic poles north and south.

Electric current produces magnetic field the relationship between electricity and magnetisim
is electromagnetisim by turning a metal bar into a magnet by connecting it into an electric
current by adding a wire of a conductive material (iron-copper-aluminum)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHIchO1pbFA
Making Electrical circuit is a root where electrical current can flow
conclusion: Learners will have different diagrams for electrical circuits aksing learners how are
(15 mins) electrical circuits are formed while also provoking their thinking skills asking them what
did you recognize in these different diagrams.

Learners will conduct that the electrical current flows through only closed circuits as
electrons flow from the negtative side of a battery to a conducting material then it flies
through a metal wire until they finally make their way to the positive battery side.

Learners will be divided into stations to make several experiments

1st station current electricity
Learners will make and electrical circuit using 2 wires a battery and a light bulb

Taking action: 2nd station current electricity

(15 mins) Learners will make an electrical circuit using 2 wires, battery, light bulb and aluminium foil
to make a complete circuit

3rd station static electricity

Learners will use a balloon and frict it on their hair, then they will put the balloon on a paper
they will stick together

Learners will be presented a powerpoint presentation as an exit ticket to ensure their

understanding
