ESSAY
1. How will you promote the importance of sports and physical education in
society?
We all know that sports and physical education have a big impact in our society.
Sports can improve sportsmanship and can build strong communication and connection to
each and everyone. Also, by this we have this so called ‘camaraderie’, wherein we shared
common interest and gives each of us a helping hand. In physical education, we all know that
by this it makes us healthy, it makes the people in the society holistically develop. But, let us
first enumerate the importance of sport in the society and after that the physical education.
Sport is essential because it promotes social, mental and physical well-being. They are
not just a great source of pleasure; they are also quite important in many aspects of daily life.
Physical fitness is first increased via sports. Through increased cardiovascular fitness,
strength, and endurance, sports assist people maintain healthy lifestyles. Participating in
sports on a regular basis lowers the risk of diabetes, obesity, and other lifestyle illnesses.
Second, playing sports helps mental wellness. It promotes restraint, tenacity, and purpose.
Athletes also develop resilience, stress management, and a strong work ethic at the same
time. Even so, team sports can foster cooperation, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
Additionally, sports support societal cohesion. They offer a space for social interaction
amongst individuals from various backgrounds, encouraging harmony and camaraderie.
Attendees of sporting events frequently have an increased sense of pride and
belonging. Important life values like teamwork, initiative, and sportsmanship are imparted
through sports in the classroom. For gifted athletes, they may also result in scholarships and
educational possibilities. The development of the body, mind, and social structure in human
society is greatly aided by sport. They represent something deeper and more meaningful than
just rivalry or amusement. Participating in sports is crucial for physical wellness. A healthy
lifestyle can be maintained by those who exercise and participate in sports. Frequent
participation in sports enhances cardiovascular health, muscular strength, and physical
endurance. This is beneficial for preventing the spread of the growing obesity epidemic,
lowering the risk of chronic illnesses like diabetes, and enhancing general health.

In addition to physical health, sport is also important for mental health. Athletes learn
to be disciplined, determined and have a strong work ethic. They gain knowledge on goal-
setting and attaining, stress management, and resilience-building. Sports teach players
valuable life lessons that apply to many facets of success in both the personal and
professional spheres. Sport fosters social development as well. They give people from various
backgrounds a place to interact, which fosters harmony and social cohesiveness. By
encouraging individuals to connect, discover common ground, and form enduring
connections, sports improve a feeling of community. Sports have a significant economic
impact. They create opportunities for coaches, athletes, event coordinators, and specialists in
sports medicine to work in the sports sector. Large athletic events have the power to
strengthen local economies, raise incomes, and generate employment through greater
tourism.
In order to educate everyone in the society, physical education is crucial. Exercise is
important for maintaining a healthy body and mind, according to research. Physical ability

and fitness are directly enhanced by exercise. It also aids in educating people about the
benefits of leading an active lifestyle and helps them make wise decisions. The advantages of
physical education can influence societal physical activity as well as academic learning.
Academically driven, focused, and successful people are more likely to be in good health and
engage in physical activity. Physical activity enhances quality of life, mental health, and the
capacity to meet the demands of physically demanding work, according to the National
Association for Sport and Physical Education. "Regular physical activity improves functional
ability and limits disability in middle and later adulthood."

In conclusion, sport and physical education is more than just fun; they are essential to
leading a balanced existence. Sport and physical education has a huge value that transcends
the court or field, making it an integral part of human society and can lead for a better and
prosperous way of living.

2. How will you raise awareness about the benefits of sports and physical activities
for individuals and communities? Give an example.
Sport and physical activities can give us a lot of benefits. After the pandemic era,
where everyone experiences and suffer from a lot of sickness and diseases, their body and
healthy become unhealthy. They stayed at home just to obey the protocol set by the
government, wherein it lessens their capabilities to do some sports and physical activities
outside or outdoor. Those sports and physical activities that can make them healthy and for
them to avoid such diseases.
Regular participation in sports can have a positive impact on a person's life. A person
may experience various physical, social, and emotional benefits from regular participation in
sports. Particularly for youth, regular participation in sports can do many positive things. For
example, participation in sports can lead to the development of healthy habits. The
development of healthy habits early on in a child's life is important for living a healthy
lifestyle as an adult.
Although it may seem obvious, regular participation in sports can affect the body
physically, providing many positive benefits. For example, some of the physical benefits of
playing basketball include improved cardiovascular endurance, health, strength, coordination,
and balance. Many of the physical benefits of sports are related to the increase in heart rate
that occurs during physical activity. Physical activity requires the heart to beat faster and
harder to provide the muscles in the body with a continuous supply of oxygen. If physical
activity is performed regularly, the heart becomes stronger and more efficient, which lowers
blood pressure and lowers a person's resting heart rate.
Physical activity has significant health benefits for hearts, bodies and minds. It
contributes to preventing and managing noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular
diseases, cancer and diabetes. Physical activity reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety,
also it enhances thinking, learning, and judgment skills. Ensures healthy growth and
development in young people and improves overall well-being. Regular physical activity,
such as walking, cycling, wheeling, doing sports or active recreation, provides significant
benefits for health. Some physical activity is better than doing none. By becoming more
active throughout the day in relatively simple ways, people can easily achieve the
recommended activity levels.
Physical inactivity is one of the leading risk factors for noncommunicable diseases
mortality. People who are insufficiently active have a 20% to 30% increased risk of death
compared to people who are sufficiently active. But as I observed in today's generation,
physical activity is very limited, it was limited by the technological innovations that we have
right now. The drop-in physical activity is partly due to inaction during leisure time and
sedentary behavior on the job and at home. Likewise, an increase in the use of "passive"
modes of transportation also contributes to insufficient physical activity.

As part of this generation and as a youth, using my knowledge as a Physical


Education major student and soon to be educator, I will use this to inspire and help other
people most specially the people around me to educate on the health benefits of sports and
physical activities. I will lead as an example to them by taking first the action that I'm going
to share. I will start it by myself, I will lead by example. Being active in any sports and
physical activities means that you value your life, you care for your future, and you want to
live longer.
