CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

In this section, researchers conducted experimental study and used experimental

research design to fully investigate the chosen topic "From Waste to Wonder:

Transforming Eggshells into Eco-Ceramic Innovations". This investigation will put the

researchers' creativity and ingenuity to the test. This study will also determine how

researchers will solve and figure out how to turn eggshell trash into a new product, as

well as whether eggshells are capable of performing cement in one material.

SUBJECT OF THE STUDY

This study will focus on eggshells, as they are the main topic of this research and

researchers aim is to evaluate their effectiveness as a cement substitute. In this research,

the investigators aim to determine the effectiveness of utilizing eggshells in cement

production. Therefore, the primary focus of this study will be on the eggshells as the key

material, and the researchers will also go and conduct a tests to demonstrate that

eggshells can serve as a component in cement manufacturing.

SETTING OF THE STUDY

The research is conducted within the local environment at San Pablo City,

Laguna. The researchers take place wherein the equipment for basic material for

experiments is present, such as mixing, molding, and drying material.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS

Here are the instruments used by the researchers:

Used to crush eggshells.

Used to weight the object.

Used to measure dry ingredients.

Used to measure the liquid ingredients.

Used for drying the eggshells.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

In this chapter, the procedures will discuss by the researchers:

1. Collect some eggshells.

2. Boil the eggshells.

3. Put it in the oven and set the timer for 5 minutes while the temperature is 150

degrees Celsius to dry the eggshells.

4. After drying the eggshells, put it in the blender to crush the eggshell until it

becomes powder.

5. Prepare the water, egg shell powder, agar powder, glycerin, measuring tools,
and weighing scale.
6. Measure the ingredients

 1 ml of water
 5 ml of Glycerin
 ½ table spoon of agar powder
 1 table spoon of egg shell powder
7. After it measures the ingredients, put the measuring cup on the scale to
calculate the measure of the liquid.
8. Mix all the ingredients together.
9. Mold it according to the design you want.
10. Dry it and observe it.
