Sam: Excuse me. Can I sit here?
John: Yes, please.
Sam: Thank you. Ah, are you a 1st year student?
John: Yes, my name is John. I’m from England, and you?
Sam: My name is Sam. I come from Canada. Nice to meet you.
John: Nice to meet you too.
Sam: What subject are you studying?
John: I’m studying industrial engineering.
Sam: Wow!
John: How about you?
Sam: I’m studying marine biology.
John: I’m sorry? What is it?
Sam: I study fish and other forms of life in the ocean.
John: Ah, I see your point. And what job would you like to have in the future?
Sam: I could be a fisheries biologist. It is hard work, so I have to be fit because the work is very physical. And
you?
John: I could work at the factory, and I have to be an organized person because working with machines is very
dangerous.
Sam: I see. Oh, what would you like to do in your free time?
Sam: Me? I usually play online games after school. This helps me relax.
John: Do you play alone or with someone?
Sam: Sometimes, my friends visit me in my room, so we can play together. How about you?
John: I go to the gym with my roommate every day. Doing exercises makes me strong both physically and
mentally. I have to stay fit because my studies are very hard.
Sam: That’s true.
John: oh, my class is coming, I’ve got to get going.
Sam: It’s ok, see you then. Bye.
John: Bye.
