Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W are seated around a rectangular table-two on each
side facing the centre of the table.

There are three females who are not seated next to each other.
U is to the left of Q and between W and Q
R is between T and Q
Q, a male member is seated opposite to P, a female member.
S, a female member is second to the left of U
There is a female member between T and Q

Based on the above information, answer the following questions. Show steps to support your
answers.
(i) Draw the complete seating arrangement (2)
(ii) Who are the three female members (1)
(iii) Who is seated opposite to U, a male or a female? (1)

One side of an equilateral triangle is 24 cm. The mid-points of its sides are joined to form
another triangle whose mid-points, in turn, are joined to form still another triangle. The
process continues indefinitely.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

A school organised a cultural event for 100 students. In the event, 15 students participated
in dance, drama and singing. 25 students participated in dance and drama; 20 students
participated in drama and singing; 30 students participated in dance and singing. 8 students
participated in dance only; 5 students in drama only and 12 students in singing only.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions.
(i) Find the number of students who participated in dance and drama but not singing (1)
(ii) Find the number of students who participated in dance (1)
