include materials used for the experiments such as name of the chemicals, paper
cups, seeds etc. A stepwise detail of the procedure for the experiments and
taking the readings should be mentioned.
11. Students who are not writing an experiment based project should omit material
and method heading. They should write Introduction and Discussion after Aim.
Introduction and Aim will Include details of introducing the disease, types if any,
where does it occur, Statistics of occurrence in the world or India, Inflammation
during the disease course, symptoms, Diagnostic methods, Modes of treatment
and any other specific feature. Each part will be under a Subheading e.g.
Occurrence in the world, Inflammation observed, Diagnostic methods,
Symptoms, Subtypes etc. Please do not write a question e.g What is cancer,
How can we prevent cancer etc. as a subheading. This is a formal report
hence has to follow a format.
12. Observations : Students who are conducting experiments for their project will
include observation tables, graphs and pictures based on the experiments.
Observation Table can be made and filled in pencil or on computer while writing
the text. Graph to be made on graph sheets and pasted under this subheading or
on the back of the previous sheet.

chemical A was shown to increase the time of germination of the seeds, whereas
chemical B was observed to shorten the time of generation of the seeds.
15. Bibliography : List all the sources that have been used while doing the project
such as books and websites including those used for taking the supporting
pictures and diagrams. This is to strictly avoid plagiarism.

18. Project should be spiral bound with all the pages in the correct order.
19. To Summarise, for students who include experiments in their project will use
following headings in this order only; Aim - Introduction - Material and Methods -
Observation - Result - Conclusion - Bibliography. For students who have just
theory based projects, following headings are to be included in this order only;
Aim - Introduction and Discussion - Conclusion - Bibliography.
Good Luck! hope the investigatory project becomes a fun and a learning exercise
and not a last minute burden.
