Executive Summary
For more than thirty years, Grameen Bank—a leader in the micro-lending space has given
small loans to underprivileged people, especially women. The bank works based on group-
based lending, which is a strategy that has shown itself to be quite successful in terms of loan
payback rates. In this method, a group of borrowers guarantees each other’s loans. The
microfinance initiatives of Grameen Bank have significantly impacted economic growth and
the fight against poverty in Bangladesh and worldwide.
This report represents the actual experiences I had while working as an intern at Grameen
Bank. Additionally, it clarifies the lessons I acquired from my three months of internship with
Grameen Bank. It opens with a succinct overview of Grameen Bank, and the report includes
section where my internship experience with Grameen Bank described. I performed all my
internship activities under the International Program Department. This department deals with
foreign delegation, visit programs, research management, workshop management, internship
management, audio-visual management, media coordination management and knowledge
management. I found some activities to be interesting while others were more challenging. In
my report, I discussed the knowledge and lessons I gained during my internship. Despite the
overall positive experience, I faced few difficulties, which I have outlined in detail.
In conclusion, millions of people's lives have been significantly impacted by Grameen Bank
microcredit initiatives, which have been crucial in fostering social and economic growth. The
bank is a leader in the microfinance sector and a role model for businesses worldwide thanks
to its creative lending strategy and dedication to helping the underprivileged.
