I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate understanding of current, voltage, resistance and relationship, electric power, electric energy and home
Standards circuitry.
B. Performance The learners shall be able to practice safety in handling electrical devices.
Standards
C. Learning The learners will be able to :
Competencies A. State the ohms law
/ Objectives B. Describe the relationship among current, voltage, and resistance
C. Apply ohm’s law formula to a problem solving
D.
B. Developing
A. Ask students about the underlying principle of ohms law formula and the relationship of voltage, current and resistance.
Activities
B. Ask students to give the general principle of ohms law.
.
Motivation
C. Establishing A. The learners know the history of ohms law
Purpose for the B. The learners know how to compute using ohms law
Lesson C. The learners know how to compute voltage, current and resistance using ohms law
Ohm’s law states that the electrical current flowing through any conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference
(voltage) between its ends, assuming the physical conditions of the conductor do not change.
In other words, the ratio of potential difference between any two points of a conductor to the current flowing between them is
constant, provided the physical conditions (e.g., temperature etc.) do not change.
1. Activity The teacher will give the student some word problem about OHMS LAW and the student will solve individually and present it to the
class.
1.A circuit has a voltage of 24 volts and a current of 2 amperes. What is the resistance of the circuit?
2.A resistor has a resistance of 10 ohms and a current of 0.5 amperes flowing through it. What is the voltage across the resistor?
3.A circuit has a voltage of 9 volts and a resistance of 3 ohms. What is the current flowing through the circuit?
2. Analysis
Determine the OHMS LAW and how to solve the current, voltage and resistance.
3. Abstraction
B. Evaluating
learning
Solve the following word problem using OHMS LAW.
1. A circuit has a current of 0.2 amperes and a resistance of 8 ohms. What is the voltage across the circuit?
2. A circuit has a voltage of 6 volts and a current of 0.4 amperes. What is the resistance of the circuit?
