HISTORY OF THE ACADEMY
St. Julian Academy was formerly St.
Elizabeth Academy founded by the
Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary (ICM) in 1962.

Previous patron saint was
St. Elizabeth of Hungary because the
school was founded under the
patronage of St. Elizabeth of
Hungary.

ICM sisters decided to close the
school & donate the property to the
Archdiocese.

RT. REV. MSGR. ILDEFONSO M. ODI, H. P.,
parish priest of Janiuay was the first school
director. The school was then renamed after
the patron saint of the parish,
St. Julian of Cuenca.

In June 1987, the school was
then renamed after the patron
of the parish, St. Julian of
Cuenca until the present.

CODE OF
BEHAVIOR
• Students who feel that they
are being wrongly blamed
or misunderstood must give
their explanations to the
teacher concerned, privately
after class. They must do it
respectfully & never publicly
or defiantly.
• When asked to answer a
question in a class,
student must stand
properly and answer
clearly and respectfully.
• No student is allowed to
leave his or her seat
without the expressed
permission of the
subject teacher.
• Students may leave the
classroom one at a time
with appropriate reason
of leaving the
classroom.
• Students are forbidden
to write on walls, desks,
tables, and other school
property, nor destroy or
deform school
properties.
• Loud, forced, and boisterous
laughter and other sources of
disturbing noises are not
allowed in the campus, except
during school programs and
academic activities that needs
multimedia.
• All students must refrain
from quarrelling,
ridiculing others, fighting,
or being accomplices to
misconduct in and/or out
of the campus.
• All students are expected to
observe good manners in
and out of the campus,
abide by the school policies
and rules, be considerate of
others, and lead exemplary
catholic Christian lives.
• All student officers are
considered persons in
authority of the school. They
are expected to be models in
behavior for other students
to emulate and to help
enforce school policies and
rules.
• Students are required
to minimize their noises
during breaks and
discouraged to play
during lunch breaks.
• Students are not allowed to stay
in other classrooms at all times
other than the one assigned to
them for classes and activities.
They are not also allowed to stay
in classrooms after curfew hours
in the afternoon.

ATTENDANCE &
PUNCTUALITY
• All students who have
incurred absences are
held responsible for all
work missed during the
period of absence.
• A letter of excuse addressed
to the homeroom adviser
shall be required before a
student is allowed to attend
classes. This letter should be
prepared and signed by the
parents and guardian.
• A letter doesn’t automatically
excuse an absence. The
decision to excuse or not the
student’s absence rests with
the homeroom adviser. It may
valid if: sickness, death of
immediate family, or
obligations required by law.
• Only letters prepared
by the parents or
legal guardians shall
be honored.
• A student who
accumulates more than
forty (40) absences during
the school year shall be
dropped from the list of
students.
• Students are considered
late or tardy if they are not
in their designated area
and position within one
minute after the bell rings
signaling the start of the
morning rites.
• Students are allowed a
minimum of 4 lates in a
month; otherwise, they will
render community service
determined by the office of
the Prefect of Discipline.
• Truancy is an offense that
warrants suspension. The
presence of parents is
required before the truant
student is readmitted to
class.
• Any student who comes
after the 3ʳᵈ period shall be
considered absent. Hence,
he/she must present an
excuse letter to the
homeroom adviser.
• Student who is absent during
periodical examinations must
present an excuse letter or
medical certificate to the
homeroom adviser. Without it,
the student shall not be allowed
to take the exams.
• Students must be in school
before 7:30 a.m. At exactly 8 a.m.
the school gate will be closed.
Students who come after 8 a.m.
will be automatically rendered
school service in the afternoon
facilitated by the homeroom
adviser.
PHYSICAL

All students should be in
complete uniform whenever
they are in the campus
during class days or during
occasions when wearing the
prescribed uniform is
required.

corduroy materials are not allowed.

Students are required to wear
prescribed PE uniforms on Fridays.
They are also required to purchase
two PE shirts. The extra PE shirt will
be used to change after their PE class
for hygiene and health safety.
Undershirts (including lady
sando and camisoles) should
be plain white and proper
tucked in. Printed shirts are
not allowed.
Male students are not allowed
to wear earrings, chokers, and
inappropriate attire at all
times.
Female students are not
allowed to wear make-up in
campus. They can only wear
only one set of earrings or
bracelet.
Wearing of dark glasses, caps,
and/or colored contact lens
are not allowed in the
campus.
ON HAIRCUT
• Hair must be neat and well groomed.
• Male students must sport the
prescribed school haircut (hair must
not touch the ears or the shirt’s collar.
Bangs must not touch the eyebrow.
• Inappropriate haircut, hairstyle and
coloring of hair are not allowed.

SANCTIONS
FOR
VIOLATIONS
Depending on the offense, the following
sanctions shall be imposed:
1. Oral Reprimand/Warning
2. Issuance of the written warning for
minor offenses to be signed by
parents or guardians and to be
returned to the Homeroom Adviser
for record and evaluation purposes.
3. Issuance of Disciplinary Violation
Reports for major offenses or series
of minor offenses to be signed by
parents and guardians and to be
returned to the PREFECT OF
DISCIPLINE.
4. SUSPENSION
4.1 Ordinary suspension prohibits the
attendance in regular classes but
demands student’s presence in the
Principal’s Office.
4.2 Preventive suspension prohibits the
student’s presence in school or in any
school-related activity outside the
campus.
5. Prohibition from participating in
school functions such as
commencement exercises, sports,
etc. Any graduating student may not
be allowed to participate if he/she
commits a serious offense under
Category III.
6. DISCIPLINARY PROBATION is a
restraining measure imposed for one
school year on student who has been
found guilty of committing disciplinary
infractions.
6.1 Disciplinary Probation
A student shall be placed under this
probation if he or she has continuously
disobeyed rules and regulations of the
school if violations were minor offenses
7. DISMISSAL is a penalty, which allows
the school to exclude or drop the
name of the erring student from the
school rolls for continued disregard
of the school during the school year
still comply with all financial
obligations before the necessary
documents for transfer are issued.
8. EXPULSION is an extreme penalty
given to an erring student. This
consists of exclusion from admission
to any public or private schools in
the Philippines.

Students are not allowed
to borrow or lend

QUESTIONS
A student must first raise his
or her hand to get the
attention of the teacher. A
student may not speak
without getting recognition
from the teacher.
SEAT PLAN
Each homeroom class must have
a copy of seat plan to be placed
on the teacher’s table. Students
who are not in their proper seats
are to be marked absent.
USE OF
CLASSROOMS
Students who are inside the
classroom are expected to
behave accordingly even
without the presence of their
teachers.
Students should refrain from
sitting on the writing ledge of
the desks.
Classroom should be kept clean
at all times. Students should
avoid throwing trash on the
floor.
Lights and electric fan should
be turned off and doors should
be closed whenever students
move out or after dismissal.
Birthday parties and
blow-outs are not allowed
inside the classroom.
Parents are not allowed to
stay in the school premises
during class hours.
MISCELLANEOUS
IDENTIFICATION CARD
• Students should wear their ID’s issued or validated
at the start of new school year at all times.
• Lost ID’s must be reported to the homeroom
adviser who will notify the school’s office for
replacement.
• Once lost, students are required to submit a letter
of loss duly signed by parents/guardians.
LUNCH PASS PERMIT
• Parents or legal guardians must fill out a letter of
permission allowing their student to leave the
school premises during lunchtime. This letter
should include a 2 x 2 ID picture of the student
and the parent's or guardian's signature.
• Students must secure their lunch pass permit
from the Office of the Prefect of Discipline.
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
• The Office of the Prefect of Discipline is the one in-
charge for lost or found items.
• Student’s may request for a notice to be posted in
the school’s bulletin board.
• The owners should claim them before or after
classes.
• Found items will be displayed in strategic location.
USE OF LOCKERS
• You are renting the locker so you don’t own it.
• Keep your lockers clean at all time.
• No stickers of any kind inside and outside the locker.
• Don’t leave valuables (money, cellphones, etc.)
• Provide padlocks on your lockers and have a
duplicate copy to be given to your homeroom
advisers.
USE OF LOCKERS
• Penalty incurred for any destroyed part or
vandalized are of the locker:
■ Vandalism – Php 300 & oral reprimanded.
■ Partial destruction – Php 500 & school
service.
■ Total destruction – Php 1000 & forfeiture of
privilege to rent a locker.
USE OF LCD TV
• Students are only allowed to use the LCD TV in
the classroom when the teacher is present and
when the use is related to the subject matter.
• The use of the LCD TV not related to any
subject matter requires the expressed written
permission of the principal.
CONSULTATION WITH THE FACULTY OR
ADMINISTRATORS
• Interviews and consultations are to be done AFTER
CLASSES IN THE AFTERNOON DURING VACANT
PERIODS of the teacher concerned.
• Parents and other visitors who wish to see anybody in
school are to consult with the security guard upon arrival.
• They shall then be directed to the designated room by
the security guard and wait till the person they wish to
see arrives in the designated area.
EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSING
• In the event of emergencies such as typhoons and
earthquakes, announcements regarding the holding or
suspension of classes shall be made through the public
weather station.
• During heavy rains, suspension of classes is at the school
head’s discretion.
• Students who resided in an affected area, parents & guardians
are encouraged to use their discretion wisely & judiciously.

• Payments before examinations are
required.
• Students who can’t pay are required to
submit a promissory letter to the
principal.

ANTI-BULLYING POLICIES
Preliminary
Provisions
Section 1. Legal Basis

This Policy complies with


Republic Act No. 10627, the
“Anti-Bullying Act of 2013.”
Section 2. Scope and Coverage

This Policy applies to the


High School programs at
the Parochial Schools of the
Archdiocese of Jaro.
Section 3. Parties and/or Stakeholders
1) Bully – refers to the student
who commits any of the
bullying and a student who
participates in any of the acts of
bullying by supporting or
aiding the commission thereof.

2) Bystander – refers to any
student who witness or has
personal knowledge of any
actual or perceived acts or
incidents of bullying or
retaliation.

Definition of BULLYING
“Bullying” refers to any severe, or
repeated use by one or more
students of a written, verbal, or
electronic expression, a physical act
or gesture, or any combination
thereof,

has the effect of actually causing or
placing the latter in reasonable
fear of physical or emotional harm
or damage to his property;

infringing on the rights of another

or the orderly operation of a school;
such as, but not limited to, the

1) Any unwanted physical contact

kicking, slapping, tickling,
headlocks, inflicting school pranks,
teasing, fighting, and using
available objects as weapons.
2) Any act that causes damage to a victim’s
psyche and/or emotional well-being;
3) Any slanderous statement or accusation
that causes the victim undue emotional
distress like directing foul language or
profanity at the target, name-calling,
tormenting and commenting negatively
on victim’s looks, clothes and body
4) “Cyber-bullying” or any bullying
done through the use of technology
or any electronic means. This
includes any conduct resulting in
harassment, intimidation, or
humiliation, through the use of
other forms of technology.

1) “Social Bullying” – refers to any
deliberate, repetitive and
aggressive social behavior
intended to hurt other or to
belittle another individual or
group

or actual sexual orientation and
gender identity

1) Calling Names with the
express purpose of
humiliating, embarrassing a
student, or otherwise cause

may be done through unwanted
physical acts but may also carried
through non-verbal means. A
mean look or stare is an example
of non-verbal bullying.

fear and extorting money, food or

chat rooms and social media sites
are included in this forms.

4) Malicious gossip and exclusion
from the group. Circulating gossip

discriminate, exclude, and hate
another student.
