Lesson Plan

Course 3 – Adults

Day 1

GOAL: Students will talk about chores at home.

Presentation activity: Hot ball: Students have to take a ball and present himself, with the following
questions:

 What’s your name?


 How old are you?
 Where do you live?
 What are your hobbies?
 What things do you like?
 What is your favorite movie?
 What is your favorite food?

- Unit opener, describe the picture and mention the activities that are happening.
- Work on warm up activities and socialize the goals.

- Students have to remember their daily routine, make one on the board, create it together.
And write, the chores in each moment.
- Now, students have to do a list with the chores that they do during the day, following the
vocabulary.

Day 2

GOAL: Students will make and respond to apologies.

- Warm up: play tingo tango, who has TANGO go to the board and with a classmate write
the most possible chores.
- Share their daily routine, choose a partner and discuss the following items:
 Mention the chores that you have in common.
 How many times at week do you do these chores?
 What is the chore that your friend enjoys most and hate most?
 What do your friend at 11am?
- Work on listening part.
- Speaking practice.

Day 3

GOAL: Students will be able to use the frequency adverbs in their daily life

Warm up: Try to organize the order of the frequency from lowest to highest based on the
percentage probability of each.

- Students have to work on a role play with the situations on point D. Using the strategies to
make and respond an apology.
- Work on grammar part.
- Activities to practice the grammar.
- Review the frequency adverbs and work on examples of the daily life of students.
- Make a survey with your classmates following the questions on page 129

Day 4
GOAL: Students will talk about friendship.

- Warm up: Competence in pairs: students have to write as many places as possible, but,
they have to write according the last letter of the previous one.
- Opening lesson B, students have to look for synonyms for each word in blue and give
different examples to practice.
- Work on activities on workbook.
- Work on reading part.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain the grammar part and practice on grammar reference page.

Day 5

GOAL: Students will be able to remember WH questions on present simple and verb to be.

- Warm up: Write examples on the board of WH questions, but eliciting the WH word,
students have to try to complete them.
- Remember the correct use of questions words and work on activities.
- Work on point B and C
- Scramble questions:

_________ ? (they/what/do)

_________ ? (the date / how long/ last)

- Students have to work on a writing activity, in which they are going to write an email for
an old friend, then they have to share their activities in front of the class.

Day 6
GOAL: Students will identify the parts of the house.

Warm up: Through Wordwall game, students have to remember the parts of the house and then,
play hangman in order to practice what they had learned.

- Describe the unit opener picture and socialize the goals.


- Do a memory activity with the vocabulary of parts of the house.
- Work on vocabulary activities.
- Complete the listening exercises.

DAY 07 Day 7
Goal: Students will be able to use expressions to show surprise.

- Warm up: Show some pictures through Power Point Presentation, students have to say if
is an expensive or a cheap apartment/house, and also, describe what rooms they can see.
- Work on speaking part.
- Then, listen, check the pronunciation and practice with partners.
- Present the different words to show surprise.
- Students have to create a conversation following the example on point D.
- Explain the grammar and work on different activities to practice.
- Give feedback and close the class.

Day 8

GOAL: Students will remember the colors and describe rooms.

Students have to look at the picture and try to write the most possible sentences using
there is and there are.
- Go to Lesson B, students have to describe the picture, mentioning also the colors that they
see.
- Remember the different colors in English through a game, students have to look for a
piece of paper and a pencil, the teacher will say a color and the class has to write all the
objects of this color.
- Work on reading part.
- Pre-reading: Students have to mention what each color represents for them and work on
point A.
- Reading: each student will read aloud a little part of the text
- Post-reading: Scan information, discuss about the ideas on the text and work on point C.
- Give feedback and close the class.

Day 9

GOAL: Students will talk about ways to improve a room.

- Warm up: Look at the pictures on page 152, students have to describe them and the
teacher will introduce too and very with some examples.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain the grammar through examples and activities on the book.
- Practice the grammar on grammar references page.
- MIDTERM EXAM APPLICATION.

Day 10

GOAL: Identify clothing and accessories.

- Warm up: Students have to describe the picture of the unit, then, the teacher will show
different outfits and students have to discuss the clothes in class. Explain the goals of the
unit and answer the questions.
- MIDTERM EXAM FEEDBACK.
- Describe the unit opener picture and socialize the unit goals.
- Watch the video and answer the questions. Make a list of the different type of clothes.
- Then, with the use of vocabulary on page 157 they have to describe the outfit.
- Practice the vocabulary,

- Work on listening part.

Day 11

GOAL: Students will be able to ask for clothes that they want, using the vocabulary learned in a
real context based on styles.

- Warm up: With the help of the roulette, students have to describe the clothes that their
classmates are using.
- Work on speaking part. Students have to create a conversation asking and giving prices of
different products.
- Explain the grammar – Want to / Have to – work on examples and on page 160.
- Practice the pronunciation on point C
- Students have to create a conversation using: clothe vocabulary / Want to – Have to /
Price.

Day 12
GOAL: Describing clothing styles.

- Introduce the vocabulary of Styles, students mention what they like and what don’t, using
the questions on point B. Make a vocabulary chart.
- Work on reading part.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain the grammar and work on examples.
- Work on writing part: students have to choose their favorite singer/actor/player, and
describe them, and they have to present in front of the class.

Day 13

GOAL: Students will identify different jobs.

- Warm up: Describe the picture on Unit 12, students have to mention the most difficult
jobs according their opinion and the easier.
- Share the different professions, adding another one through a mind map.
- Make a wordwall activity with the different professions
- Work on listening part.

Day 14

GOAL: Students will talk about jobs.

- Warm up, activity to remember the vocabulary of the unit.


- Work on speaking part, students have to listen, identify new vocabulary and practice the
conversation.
- Introduce the speaking strategy and work on point D.
- Students will make a role play talking about their jobs or the job that they want to have in
the future.
- Explain the grammar part, questions with like.
- Practice on activities of grammar section.

Day 15
GOAL: Students will explain their work goals.

- Lesson B opener, students have to look for the meaning of new vocabulary and practice
them through examples.
- Work on point C and workbook activities.
- Work on reading part.
- Work on listening part.

Day 16

GOAL: Students will be able to talk about the things that they can and cannot do.

- Warm up: practice the vocabulary of jobs.


- Explain the grammar with different examples, work on exercises, students have to
mention they things that they can and cannot do.
- Students have to create a worksheet based on a model presented by the teacher, writing
about their dream job. Then, they share with the class.
- Work on active English.
