STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (SOP)

My studies background:
My name is LONG CHANDARA, male, Cambodian, my date of birth: Oct 14, 2003, I
graduated the high school in 2022. Currently, I am planning to further my education in
Australia with the below courses. According to my studied experiences in my country, I
really want to continue and get the best education abroad, so I along with my parents do
the decision to extend my knowledge studies of General English, Diploma of Business and
Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management in Melbourne City College Australia
(MCCA) in Australia to be qualified for my future career.
The Reasons for choosing Australia:
Australia has always been my first priority to study. Apart from being a great place to get
worldwide accepted education, it is also an outstanding place to live. There is not only one
reason for why I choose Australia, but due to the various factors I decided to study there.
Australia has provided lots of benefits things to offer to the international students in terms
of educational opportunities and industry relevant courses. Australia has a diverse multi-
cultural environment which will help students to know different cultures, religions and
people around the world. It is one of the top countries in the world which provides all sorts
of knowledge and experiences to the students. Based on my research over the internet and
recommendation from friends, family and experts, I have to come to realize that Australia is
one of the safest destination for international students. One of the prior reasons for
choosing Australia for further studies over other countries is that it is the best-suited
destination for international students like me in the context of tuition fees, climate and
overall expenses. Students studying in Australia are allowed to work up to 20 hours per-
week while they are studying in Australia. This is the great opportunity for students who
want to earn money to help with living expenses during their stay and for the students who
wants to gain work experience in their field of interest. The institutions in Australia offer a
wide variety of courses and degree. So, I have been able to easily find the right field for me.

The Reasons for choosing education providers:

Choosing the right school is very importance for the international student like me to further
higher education and to get the best future employment and real knowledge. After many
researching through the internet, friend’s recommended and through the experts, I have
found that the MCCA that can provide me with the qualities of education, both in English
abilities and leadership management skills. It is the best for all the international students
with the acceptable tuition fee, available courses, school environment and the most
importantly is the professional education system that the institutes provide to the students.
Many of students are really satisfy with their studies; especially they can get the real
workplace experiences and knowledge when they graduated from these institutes.

Firstly, I have been registered and accepted for the General English, Diploma of Business and
Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management at MCCA.
Secondly, I found that MCCA is one of the famous colleges in Australia. It has the specific
and international programs, the experience lecturers, high standard and most students get
the result of what they have always expected. This doesn’t mean other doesn’t, but I am
confidence in qualities and experience in MCCA. Beside these reasons, they have the
outside and inside environments which really suit for me. I really love its environment. If the
school only has a good quality without a fresh environment, student also cannot
concentrate on their learning, so environment is also one of the important parts. Although
all degrees are valid in Cambodia, but it still demand and recognition pattern degrees are
found a bit higher than in Cambodia degree. MCCA provides the best possible study
experience equipped with multi-face academic opportunities and with the world class
teaching-learning process. On comparison with other colleges MCCA hosts faculty members
that are highly qualified professionals with years of experiences who’d undoubtedly provide
the best possible knowledge in every sector they teach. MCCA has outstanding educational
opportunities that will enable me to achieve my best as it provides in depth knowledge of
leadership and management education and career.
The Reasons for choosing the courses
General English
The English program in Cambodia is not good enough, however I think studying
English in spoken English country will provide me a good result than in Cambodia,
because Australia will provide me an international English program. In addition, my
English ability is still limited; my speaking is not fluent enough. Australian speak
English to communicate each other, it means that I have to use English everywhere
and I will meet many people from different places, they have different accent, so
that I will be able to improve my English skill or accent and listening from all
categories of accents, the result is I will be influent in speaking English and using the
academic words. This course is designed for students who meet the academic
requirements for pathways, but need or would like additional English language
proficiency before commencing study. Students will develop the essay and report
writing, presentation and critical thinking skills in English, that’s why I will study the
General English to reinforce my English Abilities.
Diploma of Business

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills
and experience in business across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgment in planning, organizing,
implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They
use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organizational or
enterprise requirements. They may plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to
unpredictable problems, and identify, analyze and synthesize information from a
variety of sources.

Once I have successfully completed Diploma of Business, the further study pathways
available to undertake the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and management.

Advanced Diploma of Diploma of Leadership Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialized knowledge
and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range
 of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and
judgment to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions,
with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyze and synthesize
information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and
creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex
problems.

The Reasons for choosing to further education in Australia rather than in Cambodia:
Seriously in Cambodia, the course of information technology is also available, but because of
currently Cambodia is a developing country and the educational system is being upgraded
for providing to the institutes and universities to get the qualities, but it’s still not yet
affective and Cambodian educational system is still limited and the experienced professors
are also in limited too. The educational system is in ASIAN system and the degrees are not
globally recognized, if we compare to the Australian degree. Australian degree is globally
recognized, professors are fully of experiences, the educational system is in Western system
that is not highly complicated that can cause the students to get easily understanding from
what the professors transfer to the students and I do believe that when I graduated from
Australia, I could not only get the globally recognized degree, but also the world wide
qualities education.
My future career plan:
After completion of the above mentioned courses in MCCA, I will look for the universities in
Melbourne, Australia, to continue the bachelor degree which is specializing in the Bachelor
Business in there. I don’t have a plan to permanently live in Australia forever, what I need
the most important is to grape the most qualifies knowledge from Australia for my future
career in Cambodia. The most importantly, my parents really need me to return back to my
home country with the qualified knowledge and skills for my future career. All the above
courses will exactly provide me with the best opportunity for working in my home country,
because of the Australian degree is highly valued than the local degrees.
The Conclusion:
I promise that my intention of going to Australia comes from pure intention of thirsty for
high quality education and during my temporary stay in the country I will not commit any
crime or harmful acts that will badly affect the country and its people.
I am hopefully that I will be able to have a chance to study in Australia to fulfill my dream
and I have many dreams to materialize in my home town. Besides, I also have some
responsibilities towards my family and society which I must not forget. I am a genuine
student. I want to contribute my skills and knowledge learnt in Australia to the development
of my society and the nation as a whole.
