Paper 2

2hours 15 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES:
This paper consists of two sections A and B.

Section A contains one compulsory question

Section B contains three questions. Answer any two questions from this section.

Each candidate is provided with a new formatted 3.5 diskette of high density or a
blank compact disk (rewritable).

Each candidate must produce hard copy for each of their work to accompany the
diskettes or compact disk.

Software wizards must not be used.


SECTION A (40 MARKS)
(This section is compulsory)
1(a) Using any available word processing software, use shape facility to design the
cartoon montage below (08 marks)

(i) Use a text box to insert the word “ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION” as


tittle (02 marks)
(ii) Make your page appear in landscape orientation (01 marks)
(iii) Give your page a green color appearance with a bottom vertical alignment
(02 marks)
(iv) Insert a water mark with the word “CAR AND FACTORY POLLUTION”
(01 marks)
(v) Increase the footer edge to 0.9” and header edge to 0.7” (02 marks)
(vi) Insert your name and personal number as header (01 marks)
(vii) Copy the contents in header and paste them in footer and add a relevant clip
art in footer (01 marks)
(viii) Save your work as Cartoon and print 3 copies of your work(02 marks)
(b) Use any present spreadsheet software to enter the details of the first four Computer
generations below. (04 marks)

(a) Use a formulae to determine the total years each generation lasted in column D
(02 marks)
(b) In cell D6 find the mode which will compute the years that appear most
(02 marks)
(c) Use cell B6 to find the Median year (02 marks)
(d) With help of a suitable formulae use cell F6 to count the number of cells with
text data type (label) in S-NUMBER column (02 marks)
(e) Sort all the spreadsheet values from first to fourth generation using S-
NUMBER using A-Z criteria (02 marks)
(f) Using columns of GENERATION and LASTED insert a pie chart to the third
sheet and rename the sheet ANALYSIS (02 marks)
(g) Give your work a thick 6pt border around it when its dotted underlined in red
color. (02 marks)
(h) Insert your names as footer and print all your work (02 marks)

SECTION B (60 MARKS)


Attempt any two questions from this section.

2. Create four slides which your going to use to sensitize the people of your
community about the Human trafficking evil that is rampant today in Uganda
In slide one – Introduce human trafficking plus the name of the presenter(03 marks)
In slide two- Give the causes of human trafficking in Uganda (05 marks)
In slide three- Outline the effects of human trafficking in Uganda (05 marks)
In slide four – Point out suitable solutions to the above evil. (05 marks)
You are requires to
(a) Use different font styles in each slide (02 marks)
(b) Insert relevant clipart in each slide and use them to link slides one after the
other (02 marks)
(c) Minimal animation and transitions (02 marks)
(d) Footer of your name and slide numbers (02 marks)
(e) Add speaker notes on the first slide to say “Human trafficking is dangerous to
Uganda” (02 marks)
(f) Save an print your slide in handout mode. (02 marks)

3. Using a web design software of your choice, design a thee - page website for
MABIIKE SPORTS CENTER in which includes the following:
(a) Page titles. (3marks)
(b) Home page with not less than 100 words. (6 marks)
(c) link to e-mail: info@mabiikesport13.com and another one for the
website (www.mabiikesportscenter.com) on the Contacts page.
(5 marks)
(d) Photo Gallery with a few related graphics. (6 marks)
(e) The pages should be well linked with a good navigation structure.
(5 marks)
(f) Save your work as “Mabiike”. (2 marks)
(g) Print your work. (3 marks)

4. A communication Commission is a government department responsible for


licensing, registering and establishment of broadcasting standards in a country.
As a senior database administrator of this department, create a table called
MEDIA PLATFORMS and enter the data below. (10 marks)

(d) Let the content in BAND field appear green (02 marks)
(e) Design a report from yahoo query (02 marks)
(f) Extract a blue form from no broadcast query (03 marks)
(g) Insert footer of your name and personal number on your form(03 marks)
(h) Save and print all your work (02 marks)
