Course Title: Law Enforcement Services I
Course Code: 6510

Course Description
The Law Enforcement Services program prepares students for entry-level positions in local,
state, and federal law enforcement agencies and private security firms.

Course Objectives
Given the necessary equipment, supplies, and facilities, students will successfully complete all
core standards for this course, which grants one unit of credit.

Recommended Grade Level: 10 - 12


Computer Access Required: 1:1
Prerequisite: Introduction to Law (6505)
Recommended Maximum Enrollment: 24

A. Safety
Effective professionals know safety protocols essential for proficiency in their roles. Key
accountability criteria include:

1. Review school safety policies and procedures.


2. Review classroom safety rules and procedures.

4. Identify major causes of work-related accidents in office environments.
5. Demonstrate safety skills in an office/work environment.

Organizations (CTSOs). Key accountability criteria include:

1. Identify the purpose and goals of a CTSO.


2. Explain the role of CTSOs in specific clusters, majors, and courses.
3. Explain the benefits and responsibilities of CTSO membership.
4. List leadership opportunities available through CTSO activities.
5. Discuss how participation in CTSOs promotes lifelong benefits.

C. Technology Knowledge
Effective professionals understand the ethical use of technology. Key accountability criteria
include:
