Dear diary,
What a horrible experience in my life! It was really unbelievable. I faced so many problems in
the stormy weather tonight. I could see nothing but the huge dark and stormy clouds. My plane
was running short of fuel. The compass and the radio in my plane were dead. Fortunately the
pilot of a black aeroplane guided my plane through the stormy clouds. I simply followed his
plane and landed my plane safely. I still don’t know who has saved me today. Anyhow, I thank
God for sending me that pilot to help me. He is my real saviour.

cleaver, respectful and educated man. In the end he decided to go back to Anil and return his
money. Write a dairy entry of Hari Singh describing his feelings in the above context.
Dear Diary,
My life has taken a new turn today. I have realized my mistake. So far I have lived a dishonest
life. Anil trusted me so much. But, I tried to betray his faith and kindness. I have stolen his
money. I have to board the 10.30 express to Lucknow to leave this city. But, I can’t do like that
now. Anil’s trust on me is more valuable than the stolen money. I don’t want to lose his trust.
He gave me food and shelter and tried to educate me. So, I will go back to the room and place
the money under his bed. I should be loyal to Anil all though my life.

Dear diary,
What a bad day is today! The hailstorm has damaged the crop completely. I had always
worked like an ox. But, all my hard work has gone waste. The hailstorm is worse than a plague
of locusts. How can I sow the field again? How can I maintain my family till the crop comes? All
my dreams have turned upside down. But, no one dies of hunger. I will write a letter to God. He
will surely send me 100 pesos. I have good faith in Him. He will not disappoint me.

Oh, God! Thanks a lot for your kind help. I am so happy today. I always have good faith in you.
So, your help did not surprise me. You will not let anyone die of hunger. With the money you
have sent, I will sow the field again. I will reap good harvest. Your help will support my family till
the crop comes. But, I am quite upset because I have received only 70 pesos. The post office
employees are a bunch of crooks. They have pinched the 30 pesos. So, please send me the 30
pesos. But, don’t send it through post. With lots of thanks,
Lencho

Dear diary,
Today I have experienced a strange incident. This morning, our postman brought me a letter.
It was addressed to God. A poor farmer named Lencho wrote it to God. The letter made me and
my colleagues laugh. But, I am surprised at Lencho’s faith in God. I wish I had that much faith in
God. I took pity on the poor farmer. I collected some money from my co-employees. But, I could
collect only 70 pesos. I wrote a reply letter to Lencho in the name of God. I kept the 70 pesos in
the envelope and posted it to Lencho.
Hope the amount would help Lencho to sow his field again. It may help him maintain his
family till the crop comes.

Dear Kitty,
As you know Kitty, I am a talkative girl. I got this feature from my mother. But, my maths
teacher did not like me talk in the class.
Despite several warnings, I was not to able to rid of my talkativeness. As a result, Mr. Keesing
decided to make fun of me. He asked me to write an essay on ‘An Incorrigible Chatterbox.’ I
presented the essay justifying my behavior. The whole class laughed at me. Mr. Keesing gave
me another essay ‘’Quack, Quack, Quack, said the Mistress Chatterbox.’ With the help of my
friend Sanne, I presented a poem before the class. It was about a father swan who killed his
ducklings for talking too much. This time, Mr. Keesing could not help laughing with the class.
Now he has become an admirer of jokes. Aren’t I talented, Kitty?

Mandela and write a diary entry expressing your feelings about your success over apartheid.
Dear diary,
Today I stood before my people very proudly. I took oath as the first President of South Africa.
The whites had oppressed my people. But, our non-stop fight has made us free. But, it is not
enough. My country should be free from poverty and social inequalities. The hearts of my
people are purer than diamonds. My people are the real wealth of my country. They are very
dedicated and responsible. Today onwards, they will live together like true citizens of this
country. I am confident that they make my country great.

36 (A) The people of the A.P have witnessed how the incessant rains that lasted for many
days caused the over flow of Budameru rivulet in and around the city of Vijayawada. Imagine
you are one of the victims of this unexpected catastrophe, and write a letter to your friend
about the untold woes it inflicted on the citizens of Vijayawada.
Vijayawada,
19th January, 2025.
Dear Krishna,
Hope you are all fine. What should I tell you about my fate? The Budameru rivulet caused a lot
of havoc in our city. The flood situation was really horrible!
The recent heavy rains caused the Budameru overflow. It submerged many parts of our city.
Thousands of people became homeless overnight and some lost their lives. The flood victims
were forced to evacuate their houses. Many were helplessly waiting on rooftops for drinking
water, food and clothes. Constant power cuts really worsened the situation. In fact, it was a
pathetic event.
Thanks to all the governmental and voluntary organizations. They worked together day and
night to bring the situation to normalcy. Our honourable CM, all the ministers and the officials
swung into immediate action. They provided the basic amenities to the flood affected people.
They deployed drones to drop food items and medicines. My heartfelt thanks to all of those who
saved our lives.

Sir ,
Sub : Traffic congestion in the city- Request for posting traffic constables in our school
area.
Through this letter I would like to bring to your kind notice the severe traffic problem at our
school. Traffic congestion has become a nuisance in our city. As a result of heavy traffic,
students, parents and employees are not able to reach their destinations in time. Since no traffic
constable is appointed near our school, we are facing a lot of problem. Especially, parents are
facing difficulty to drop their children at school in the morning hours and to pick them up in the
evening. The place has become an accident prone area.
Hence, I request you to post a traffic constable at our school point to control traffic and to
avoid accidents.
Thanking you in anticipation of your kind response in this regard,
Yours sincerely,

36 (A) On 23rd August, 2023, we all witnessed the proud moment of Chandrayan – 3 landing on
the South Pole of the moon. With this success, India has become the first country to achieve
this landmark. This historic moment brought laurels to our scientists who brought glory to our
country. Write a letter to your friend sharing your feelings of joy and pride over this
stupendous success of Mission Chandrayan – 3.

Dear Vamsi,
I hope you're doing great. I wish to share my feels with you about the success of
Chandrayaan-3. India has become the first country to land on the South Pole of the moon. It’s
really a proud moment for all Indians. It’s an unbelievable achievement by our scientists.
As you know, the journey wasn’t easy. We still remember how Chandrayan – 2 was a failure.
But, with more precision, determination, and hard work, our ISRO scientists have made
Chandrayaan-3 a reality. The rover, Pragyan has already started sending back valuable data
from the Moon’s surface. This will surely help us go for future explorations in the space. Every
Indian feels proud of this marvelous achievement. I watched the live broadcast on TV with a lot
of pride and joy. I hope you too must have had the same kind of excitement and pride.
Let’s meet soon and talk more about this amazing event. Our country owes a lot to our
scientists. More in person,
With best wishes,
Yours lovingly,

36 (B) Books are very important sources of knowledge. They help us develop intellectually.
Book reading is a very good habit. It needs to be cultivated in student life. But now, book
reading among students is not up to the mark.
Prepare a script for speech on the occasion of International Literacy Day (ILD), 8th September,
2024. Include the benefits of book reading, and how it can help in individual progress and
prospects.
On this occasion, I would like to share my feelings on the importance of reading books.
Book reading develops our knowledge. It improves our creativity and critical thinking. Books
improve our vocabulary and strengthen our communication skills.
Friends, book reading builds our character. It teaches us many human values and skills. We
are in the digital world today. So, the habit of reading books among students is declining. Many
are attracted to social media and entertainment. They are not reading books. This tendency
needs to be changed. Books are timeless treasures.
36 (B) You read the story ‘Bholi.’ In this story, you come to know that her father ignores his
daughters’ education. But, with the encouragement of her teacher, she proved herself. After
reading this story we realized the importance of girl education. Now prepare a script for a
speech on the importance of ‘girl education,’ and also include the details like eradication of
the dowry system and child marriages.
We have made a lot of progress since independence. But, barriers such as poverty, child
marriages, and illiteracy among girls have not been broken. Empowerment of women is possible
only by providing education to all the girls. Education provides employment, empowerment and
awareness of health among women.
I feel that we educate a girl, we educate an entire community. Hence, let us throw light on the
education of girls.
36 (B) You have read the lesson “A Long Walk to Freedom”. You liked Nelson Mandela’s
speech very much. Now, prepare a script for speech on the subject of human rights, their
violation and the need to implement the laws made for the protection of human rights.
I am Varun studying of 10th class. Today, I would like to share a few words about
importance of human rights, and the need to implement and protect them.
Every individual has a right to lead a happy and free life. But this is not being followed in true
spirit. Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King fought bravely and provided equal rights for the
blacks in South Africa and America. It is very sad to notice that racial discrimination still prevails
in those countries. It is obvious that violation of human rights is happening all around the world.
It’s time laws were made and implemented strictly. Violation of humanity should be condemned
wherever it occurs. Moreover, no man is free when he/she takes away another man’s freedom.
This world will become a heaven of freedom if equal rights are given to all. I would like to
conclude my speech with a slogan “Live and let live.”
37. A) Read the following passage carefully focussing on the underlined parts.
At birth, the child was very fair and pretty (A). But when she was two years old, she had an
attack of small-pox (B). Only the eyes were saved, but the entire body was permanently
disfigured by deep black pock marks. (C) Little Sulekha could not speak (D) till she was five, and
when at last she learnt to speak, she stammered. The other children (E) often made fun of her
and mimicked her. As a result, she talked very little.
Brilliant scientist though he was Griffin was rather a lawless person. (A) His landlord disliked
him and tried to eject him. In revenge, Griffin set fire to the house. (B) To get away without being
seen he had to remove his clothes (C). Thus it was that he became a homeless wanderer, (D)
without clothes, without money, and quite invisible — until he happened to step in some mud,
and left footprints (E) as he walked!
37. A) Read the following passage carefully focussing on the underlined parts.
Ramlal had seven (A) children — three sons and four daughters, and the youngest of them
was Bholi (B). It was a prosperous (C) farmer’s household and there was plenty to eat and drink.
All the children except Bholi were healthy and strong (D). The sons had been sent to the city to
study in schools and later in colleges. (E) Of the daughters, Radha, the eldest, had already been
married. The second daughter Mangla’s marriage had also been settled, and when that was
done, Ramlal would think of the third, Champa.
