where, Pressure correction = Suction vessel pressure - Liquid vapour pressure (2)
The pressure equivalent in metres can be obtained using the formula in eqn. 3 below
h = ((10.2*1.0690)/0.7062) - ((10.2*1.0690)/0.7062)
h= 0.0000 m

For a 100 ft of pipe length, the line loss shall be 0.109 psi/100ft * 100ft
A 4" line selected for line P-5010-AAA7 since the velocity is within the velocity limit of 3 ft/s with a unit pressure drop
of 0.227 psi/100ft flowing at 100gpm.
For a 20 ft of pipe length, the line loss shall be 0.227 psi/100ft * 20ft
Inputing the data into eqn. 1 and calculating for the static head is as under:
0.5 = Hs -((0.02*10.2)/0.7062) + 0
Hs = 0.5 + ((0.02*10.2)/0.7062) + 0
Hs 0.8032 m
2.6352 ft
Elevation from bottom of vessel to the suction nozzle of the pump is estimated to approximately 6 ft.
